There are cases where it makes impossible to use VORPX.

MassEffect3 LE for example. Default profile doesn’t hook, you have to use MassEffect1 LE profile. To do that, you have to rename ME3 LE executable.

Which is bad, because it forces you to play in English

I managed to get MassEffect 3 LE working.

You have to trick the launcher, just do that:

1) Go in installation folder
2) Go in GAME\ME3\Binaries\Win64 and rename MassEffect3.exe into MassEffect1.exe
3) Go back in GAME folder
4) Rename ME1 into ME1_
5) Rename ME3 into ME1
6) Launch MassEffect 1 from the Launcher

Enjoy ME3 into VORPX

Yhea, if you rename the MassEffect3.exe it doesn’t work with the launcher.
I have no idea how Luka2099 does it and make it works.

I tried ME3teaks manager mod, as you can bypass the launcher and launch ME3 straight, but again, if it’s not MassEffect3.exe, nothing happen.

I triend to add MassEffect3.exe to the new LE1 profile, but it tells me that this MassEffect3.exe is already assigned to ME3 profile … yeah, it’s the same name for both original and legendary edition… i wanted to test if the profile could hook by launching via the mod manager.

Any idea to test that without me uninstalling my original ME3 (modded) ?
I just can’t get myself to play the LE if i can’t finish it with the third game anyway.

This game looks amazing with Vorpx but I’m having a problem with looking through the sniper scope. Instead of filling the screen, the scope view appears in a smaller square in the center of the screen–almost like it’s in a 4:3 ratio superimposed on the game’s widescreen ratio.

Any idea how to solve this issue?

FWIW, the “N7 Digital Deluxe” version of Mass Effect 3 works with Vorpx. I haven’t played much of it, but I did try it out in geometry 3d, and it looked pretty good.

How do you get past the launcher though if you rename the file to masseffect31.exe? For me, running the executable directly only puts you into the launcher, and if you try to run ME3:LE from there then the game won’t start if you have renamed the exe.

then i have this problem.
I have to play Mass Effect 3 Legendary edition. the executable file is called masseffect3.exe. Just like the normal version executable. Now, in order to make it work with vorpx I had to rename the executable to masseffect31.exe, as it works with the default masseffect 1 LE profile. And here comes the problem. To be able to use the MOD for the first person I can’t modify the executable otherwise the game won’t even start anymore. I realize that it is a problem to change the default profiles, to avoid that non-expert users find themselves with problems that they would not know how to solve, but you cannot give the possibility to expert users to be able to do it? I have had similar problems with other games, a prime example is with metro exodus enchanted edition, which has the same executable file as the profile of the normal version and I had to modify the executable to be able to hook it with vorpx.

then until yesterday, using the mass effect 1 legendary edition profile and renaming the masseffect3.exe file in masseffect31.exe, the game was quietly hooked. once you apply the mod to play the first person the game doesn’t start anymore. so if you want to play masseffect 3 with vorpx, you have to modify the executable and you don’t have to put the mod

Showing up late to the party, I see that we have an official profile for Legendary ME1 (“Mass Effect Legendary – ME1”). Might there be official profiles on their way for Legendary ME2 and 3?

I played the original at release (EU version) back in 1997, and it was one of the biggest blast i had playng a video game.

No need to say that i’m very hyped for the PC release since i don’t own PS4 or PS5 and i patiently waited for this day.

Since this game use Unreal Engine, i can’t help but hope for VorpX to do wonders.
I don’t know if Ralph will try to make a profile, but when the game will be released, i will try some profiles from other games and cross my fingers to find one good enough.

Personnaly, i’m looking for the kind of experience i have with the original Mass Effect trilogie; playng the game with immersive screen, 16/9, letting me play in G3D among great characters, it’s so satisfying; i just can’t play Mass Effect trilogie on a flat screen anymore.

If i can play FF7 remake among Tifa, Aerith, Barret etc like they are next to me, adventuring in Midgar, it would be a God damn christmas mixing nostalgia and modernity !

What about you guys ?
