Ok,Skyrim has just been perfect after the above tips, now SkyUi interface,is perfectly readable in the resolutions indicated by alegse.
Additionally,I can control upscaling suggested by ralf in any resolutions.
I can only applaud this.
There is another specific case, which I would like to solve, with Elder Scrolls Oblivion, now that Cv1 has more square screens.
In a fresh installation of Oblivion, during my first test with 1395×1240 resolution,Oblivion reescaled interface visible in window mode, but it was not usable for mouse.
Is there any solution for Oblivion resolution with readable interface? Any suggested resolutions or other specific changes?
The next vorpX version will allow native controller use for more games that do not allow simultaneous mouse/gamepad use if they work with the new Direct VR feature. Skyrim is one of those, not sure yet about the other ones.
You can also easily address this yourself right away though. That’s why vorpX has a built in gamepad emulation.
The “normal” ways of dealing with games that do not allow and controller and mouse together are either playing with mouse and keyboard or disabling the controller ingame and using the above mentioned gamepad emulation. It maps gamepad input to mouse/keyboard similar to tools like Xpadder and let’s you use your gamepad in every game that does not allow simultaneous gamepad/mouse use.
Hi Ralph, i wonder if the next version will address the headtracking issue with some games.
– Skyrim: aware of the mouse OR controller issue, i was trying to use the built in controller configuration feature to emulate keyboard with no success. I was wondering if the VORPX custom controller configuration will further improve or if you could build a specific controller profile for Skyrim as this is one of the most requested games.
– Deus Ex Human Revolution: headtracking issue that lets you look around OR move, never at the same time.
– Alien Isolation: headtracking deactivates after moving with the controller, reactivates after using Vorpx menu again
@nieda113
I think there’s two executables when you get the software, one for the Vorpx profile configuration and the one that plainly starts up Vorpx itself. I think you can also apply and close from its config exe. Make sure you follow the steps To be taken while applying the prelim profile.
So run vorpx, make sure the icon is in the task tray area (lower right corner of desktop)
Run skyrim, this is based on me having CV1 btw.
Once your glasses fade to white screen with words saying …taking too long to load… the game is either loading or waiting for you to actually start it from the pre game menu. So make sure you click start or whichever and the menu is gone so the program can continue.
Should be all good from there, not sure if windowed or not makes a difference specifically for using Skyrim and Vorpx.
I prefer to keep it windowed so I can adjust the volume and it makes exiting a frozen skyrim much easier.
Tried Bethesda mods at first, seemed simpler albeit more restricted. That restricted/limited feeling went from a little itch to needles being jabbed. Nexus Mods all the way, however since Skyrim SE came out, servers are going wonky. Pay the $3 for a month of premium and not have to find what mod could’ve be downloaded (b/c nexus doesn’t give you the title of mods failed to DL). Nexus Premium -> smooth downloads, error-free*
Skyrim is quite resource hungry. Also keep in mind that in Geometry 3D mode everything has to be rendered twice which reduces the frame rate by at least 50%, plus there is some additional overhead which can lead to an extra 10%-15% reduction.
To play Skyrim in Geometry 3D with 45fps on the outside map you need to reduce detail settings in the Skyrim launcher. Try the medium preset and also remove any HD textures. vorpX (especially in G3D mode) requires more GPU memory than playing the game on your monitor. With extra texture packs there is a certain risk that the required memory is larger than the actual GPU memory on your graphics card, which would make things really slow.
In general you need to find the right balance between performance and quality for your PC (and taste). The main options you have for that are: game resolution, graphics detail and vorpX 3D mode.
So, I’m really hating the Halo’s around the meshes and think I want to try Geometry. I set most of my settings back to vanilla and am only using 2 graphics mods, Purity and the LITE version of the HD 2k textures mod. I also turned off shadows and set the foliage size to 100 (means barely any foliage at all). It looks horrid and I’m getting a super low framerate in some areas and a sub 90 in most places. I have a 980Ti that I put into OC mode as well as an i7 4790k at 4.4 GHz. Is this performance on this card normal? It runs Crysis3 in Geometry far better than Skyrim at near bare minimum settings.
Same thing as in your Skyrim question: try to run the game windowed. Shouldn’t be necessary, but in some cases that can help. Also make sure that the game has input focus via ALT-TAB. Sometimes Oculus Home can interfere so that games may appear to hang because they are paused without having input focus.
Please also make sure that no other program is running that may also hook into games: virus scanners, GPU/CPU utilities, video recording/streaming programs, desktop streaming programs, chat programs and generally everything that show notifications over games.
o got skyrimse running under vorpx. But i had to disable all mods and cant start the game with nexus modmanger. Tomorrow i will check how to get vorpx work with a modded skyimse..

@ prinyo : Make sure to reduce the detail settings in the Skyrim Launcher. Just as it is the case with the original Skyrim the highest detail settings are almost certainly too much for G3D in more taxing parts of the outside map.
For the original Skyrim there is an additional way since vorpX can upscale the resolution for this game internally. You can simply choose a common resolution like 1600×1200 and then use the “Internal Resolution Upscale” option in the vorpX ingame menu.
Far from it. Just 10 days ago a profile for Skyrim Special Edition was released for example.
There will also be a new vorpX version before the end of the year.
There is a new official patch (in beta) that people say fixes the performance in “CPU bound areas”. Many people say they see better framerates across the game.
There is also this mod ported to SSE : Insignificant Object Remover ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3354/? )
So far, as I understand it, it is simply ported. I’m not sure if it will handle the clutter added in SSE.
Hi all
Which resolution might work correctly between 1600×1200 and 1920×1440 in original Skyrim dx9?Probably aspect ratio 5: 4 or 4: 3
I know the main resolutions suggested, but I am looking for a personalized resolution between the two mentioned above for a test, admitted by Vorpx during injection.
Hi everyone,
I’m pretty new to VR, just got my Vive a couple weeks ago, so if this is a dumb question I apologize. I tried to search for an answer, but didn’t exactly know how to search it succinctly.
I’m currently playing Skyrim SE with the preliminary settings let out a bit ago. It’s looking great in general, but the image is splitting slightly whenever I turn my head. It’s not a stutter, it just splits at a degree relative to how quickly I’m moving. It’s most pronounced (or at least easiest to gauge) with text, or when the Vorpx menu is up — it’s slight enough that it just looked a little blurry before I realized what exactly was happening. I’m at 45fps, so I don’t think it’s a performance issue (GTX 980, i7-4790k).
Is this fixable, or normal, or what? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!
Apparently,Bethesda just upgraded today Skyrim Special Edition to version 1.1
According to the notes, this update fixes some bug, includes performance improvements, and improves even some aspects of sound.
It could be interesting to take a look again, and also its preliminary profile before launching new update Vorpx.
Although I still do not know,to what degree,it could influence improvements in gameplay with Vorpx.
