In reply to: Star Citizen with 18.3
RalfKeymasterFirst and foremost the usual Star Citizen disclaimer: The game is indeed abolutely unsupported because it is changing constantly.
Anyway, I’ll check it on occasion, but won’t make any promises at all. Can’t really think of any vorpX 18.3.0 change that might have caused that. Maybe some odd coincidence with a smaller game update.
What you can do yourself is renaming StarCitizen.exe to something else and then create a custom profile based on the existing one for this renamed .exe. That would allow you to check whether something can be done via shader authoring.

daggeyParticipantHey I know it’s not formally supported but the 18.3 update made it so the lighting doesn’t work properly in star citizen anymore (it was fine prior to that, even in the new 3.3 PTU, so it’s not an update on star citizen’s end that has broken things). I have tried to have a go with the shader authoring tools but that requires you to make a user profile and I can’t do that because I can’t assign the starcitizen.exe to a different profile – anyway – Ralf it would be awesome if you could take a look (there is a small but dedicated group of us who play in VR and vorpx is the by far the best way to do it) or make it so we can try and get the shader authoring going by allowing us to make custom profiles etc that would be hugely appreciated. Thanks.

olistreetParticipantHi guys,
I have a quick question, I’m setting up Star Citizen with Vorpx, and I’m happy tinkering in Immersive mode, or Cinema or Vr mode, my only issue, is that I’m not being able to get headtracking from my Oculus CV1 working, I have unbinded mouse for movement and view in the Star Citizen controls page, but when I move my head left and right just a little movement occurs, but by no means I’m being able to reach to the side windows of my ships, looking up and down is more or less the same, little movement occurs. Do you have a solution for this?
Regards.

BrewnixParticipantOk I completely agree thanks for posting! There is something running that is hooking it before Starcitizen can. So I found this trbl shooter in Vorpx is this a good indication of what running
I’ll post this here the list and can you help me determine which program should go. The tech link you posted I have read multiple times. I have not used any of the overlay programs and only antivirus is windows defender so i am thinking it has
something to do with a DX DLL like it suggest! What I did for clarity, I rebooted computer started vorpx and hit the trbl shooting button. And this is what it gave me! Thanks for the help I would like to get this working. I am just a little slow on Windows 10 as I just moved over from Win 7. Thx!“vorpX_procs”

BrewnixParticipantok so I have tried ESO and Star Citizen they both produce the same problem its starts to attach and then around 1 min or so I get the window this can take while with the 3 options to “move to exclude list” “close program” or “do nothing” The game still loads and I can play just no vorpx like it times out maybe.
Things I have tried. I used to run 3 monitors I unplugged 2 and I am down to one and Oculus Rift.
I run Oculus Home then Vorpx then Star citizen launcher.
I found the Troubleshoot button and it placed a zip file on desktop of three note pad which I Found my onboard graphics was enabled. So I disabled it.
Should I copy and paste this info from the trouble shooter?
Lowered my desktop rez to 1280×960 and placed game in window mode. I have tried end tasking on a few things in the task manager but nothing seems to matter.I have not tried to add a profile I was under the impression I should not have to add a Profile. Vorpx already has a default profile? Thanks for the help

BrewnixParticipantHi, Thanks for the help! So anti virus is Windows 10 defender. And I will have to work on the other game. Right now there is only 2 games I have installed and play and that’s DCS World and Star Citizen. So the other game I have a subscription to is Elder Scrolls Online just not installed. If that’s a ok game to try I will reinstall it and give it go. Technically I just bought and installed a fresh copy of windows 10 last month. So I have only installed the few games I play. Give me a few days to get this done ill report back Thanks!

MyrilionParticipantFirst encountered this issue this week in Star Citizen:
When using VorpX, the game doesn’t recognize Alt and Control keystrokes anymore.
I’ve tried every setting in the VorpX menu, and remapped every VorpX keybinding, but it didn’t solve the issue…Too bad, Stereo3D worked fine. Well, back to Bigscreen I guess…
Mar 31, 2018 at 11:57am #172107In reply to: Star Citizen 3.0
RalfKeymasterDisclaimer in advance: Star Citizen is not officially supported due to it’s alpha state, the provided profile may break at any time. Hence the message in that regard on every game start.
The only profile that is capable of producing Stereo 3D with Alpha 3.0 is the semi official profile that is already activated when you install vorpX (or its equivalent cloud profile by author [vorpX]). All other cloud profiles are for SC Alpha 2 as far as I’m aware. You can restore the original profile in the vorpX config app on the trouble shooting page.
You can then switch between Z3D (‘less’ 3D, fast) and G3D (more natural 3D, slower) in the vorpX ingame menu. The option is called ‘3D Reconstruction’.

NightdareParticipantI seem to suffer from a somewhat similar problem
In the gamemenus of Star Citizen, as well as Cliffs of Dover, the mousepointer is invisible,
it IS there, for when hovering over buttons, they light up. I just can’t see itNow I can work around this in cliffs of dover, by pressing escape (where it will show the mouse over the area that’s NOT the active ingame “exit Yes/No” box)
But in SC,.. not so muchTried alt+C, tried windowed/pseudo-windowed mode, no such luck
The only thing I’m wondering, in the Logitech Setpoint Software, if I should screw around with the game detection settings -

Hey I know it’s not formally supported but the 18.3 update made it so the lighting doesn’t work properly in star citizen anymore (it was fine prior to that, even in the new 3.3 PTU, so it’s not an update on star citizen’s end that has broken things). Thanks.
