Definitely some network error, can’t really recommend anything else than double and triple checking what you checked already, sorry. Are you maybe behind some corporate firewall? May also be your router or just some general network issue at the time you tried.

All default profiles are already active in vorpX, so while that isn’t ideal, the cloud profiles aren’t really necessary to use vorpX.

I do not know if it is more I bought and I want to enjoy the whole program.

I’m trying to use VorpX in the Star Citizen game and in a tutorial it says that I need to use Cloud Profiles.

I bought VorpX just to use this game so I’m doing everything I can to use. If I can not get my money back.

I will try to restart my modem or something and the firewall I turned it off.

If anyone else can help me, I thank you.

First please check whether you have selected “SteamVR (HTC Vive)” as headset in the vorpX config app (General page)

    Apart from that:

Star Citizen is not supported in any way, and never was. I’m surprised it does anything at all. Last time I checked half a year ago or so it just flatout crashed after 30secs. on the loading screen. Very old versions hooked (in 2D) years ago, but after an engine update some time ago, it didn’t work at all.

Last time someone reported to have used Star Citizen (in 2D) he used a workaround with the vorpX desktop viewer. Note that this also is not official in any way and may or may not work.

Star Citizen never was supported officially and definitely won’t ever until the game nears completion.

The *unofficial* desktop viewer workaround (may or may not work) is:

    1. Start the vorpX desktop viewer
    2. Disable the vorpX watcher (right click the tray icon, choose “Pause watcher”)
    3. Play the game either windowed or “windowed fullscreen”, real fullscreen will not work this way.
    4. Change the cinema mode options in vorpX to something more immersive (e.g. scene “None” with the screen moved closer.

So i’ve set up star citizen to work with vorpx and everything “”works”” when i look at the game on the monitor i’m getting about 100 frames a second and as i move the vive about i can see that its tracking essentially 1:1 however when i put the vive on i can see that the game window is giving me about 1 frame a second… i can move my head about and the rest of the monitor is acceptable a bit of jumping here and there but the game is only 1 frame a second so what is causing this problem?

I’ve been running this on a 6800K with a GTX1070 and 32gb of ram. Started out getting about 45fps. Couldn’t figure out why.. Ended up disabling all the mirroring stuff and my FPS shot up to 90, with occasional dips down to 84. And that’s pretty much everywhere.. Outside solitude, windhelm, all the way up the stairs to high hrothgar, inside cities.. I’m running 2K texture packs, mods that add more citizens to cities, realistic water, and a bunch of other stuff. One thing that aggravates me though. In the normal view, everything looks like it’s magnified. I’m not sure how to shrink things down so people appear normal sized. I have to play in that mode where you can see the edges. Is there any way to fix that?

Guess then I wasted my money by buying this app, as there is no refund possible I have read.

I bought it just for two games, star citizen and witcher 3. I know star citizen is not officially supported, so that’s ok if it does not work well (I do not like the way it looks with vorpx), but if I can’t even play the witcher with it…

I think I might have just made the same mistake. After months of consideration I finally bought VorPX yesterday and have had nothing but problems with it… For a $50 application you would at least expect some support. This should really be freeware at this point…

Star Citizen is not supported (and never was). It does crash on start since a SC update last year.

There is a workaround though that let’s you play it with the vorpX desktop viewer (Windows 8 or 10 required for this to be available). Follow this link for instructions.

I am using 1080, but I haven’t been able to run many games on vorpx. Witcher 3 and Star Citizen both crash for me. Performance in steam VR games and Oculus Home games though is solid 90 fps all the time. I am gonna try some more games tonight through VorpX, play with resolutions etc.

Anyone here tried Witcher 3 on CV1? How well were you able to get it to work? Did you use any specific mods, can you share your vorpx settings? I am finding very little information about Witcher 3 and vorpx, for some reason. If I try to run it with vorpx it just crashes, won’t even work. If I pause vorpx, run the game, then enable vorpx and run desktop viewer, desktop viewer crashes similarly to “star citizen”. Any recommendations, ideas, working profiles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance!

So with some help I’ve managed to get a working guide to Star Citizen going. Works for the Vive and Rift

Everytime I try to open a game, say fallout, it instantly crashes, the same goes for all steam games.I try Star Citizen and nothing happens to my Vive, but the game opens on the desktop.

Star Citizen crashes, so it won’t work with VorpX and CV1 for a while prolly. The Witcher 3, for me at least, just runs in 2D on a big screen, instead of 3D, even though it is on supported games list.

Does anyone have step by step instructions for some games? I tried searching the forum and only come up with some old stuff for DK2, and I have the CV1.
Alien Isolation, and Left 4 Dead 2, both give me super zoomed-in menus where I can’t see anything properly.
Then, once I got into A:I the motion was reversed. I move my head left, screen goes right. Then, the height is all weird.
I thought this $40 purchase was touted as the “plug and play” version of this kind of software…. what happened?
I would think that each game would already have a sticky, where people can go and just follow the steps. Or a wiki or something.
Anyway, please share some got simple, step-by-step instructions for Left 4 Dead 2, Alien Isolation, Witcher 3, Star Citizen, Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, Project Cars, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Dear Esther.

    Thank you!

Star Citizen never was supported, and probably never will be. The desktop viewer workaround in the video above however should work, it’s not officially supported though.
