Thanks for the information. Is Fallout 4 what they call a ‘full’ VR experience? For example you can look behind in game?

There are two beginner’s guides in the vorpX help that explain the most important stuff, but Fallout 4 is one of the games where you actually don’t really need one. Except from dialing in graphics details and resolution to match your PC’s performance (rendering in stereo 3D is more demanding than rendering mono), all you have to do pressing a button after entering the game and vorpX takes care of the rest. Precise instructions are shown in the game window.

Gamepads work like they normally do after pressing said button.

Hi, I’d like to get into VorpX but would like some pointers if possible and before I buy a HP Reverb headset.

I’m looking to use VorpX with Fallout 4 and I see there are profiles for this on youtube my question is I use a modded Fallout 4 so even though Steam has to be opened it is launched through Vortex, would VorpX work in this scenario?

There are one or two other games I’d like to use but Fallout 4 is the main one. I hope I can also use my elite series 2 xbox gamepad? I’m disabled so really prefer the gamepad to VR controllers. I’m looking at the HP Reverb (rev 2) headset. Is that a good choice? Would buying a second-hand one be wise or is it best to go brand new?

Lastly is there an idiots guide to set this all up? I have seen a few youtube videos but they are a few years old so don’t know if they are still relevant. Sorry for the questions.

Wow the new release is awesome! the gesture function, makes it really good.
I would like an explanation of the various parameters if it were possible, because what is written in the menu as information is not very clear.
I find the dx12 hookup improved, even if some games I have to start them with openxr rather than with steamvr, while others the opposite.

with titanfall 2 i had to remove the hide weapon function to have a nice effect with the rifle gesture,
in Forza Horizon 5 instead, the steering wheel gesture works well, I need to figure out how to best adjust the sensitivity of the steering. the problem is that the sensitivity of gestures creates some problems. Let me explain, it doesn’t take much to lose the “signal” of the steering wheel gesture. a suggestion could be the possibility to activate the gesture with a key, for example the left grip. so that beyond the position of the hands, the gesture of the steering wheel starts. I hope I was clear .

Without Vorpx running, on a flatscreen I get about 120 frames without stuttering. But running Vorpx, the game falls to 40 and I get periodic stuttering and frame rate lag. How can I resolve this? Are there any settings I’ve missed with Vorpx to help this? I have a 3080 12GB with a 12th gen i9 12900k https://xender.vip/

    I got this,…

    Hey guys and gals.

Im new to all this and slowly reading my way through the forum and trying to tinker with things.

Anyways i have a few issues with a couple of games that ive tried.

I played Titanfall 2 last night in VR and actually thought it was fantastic the graphics looked good but not great…Im using Steam VR is there a way to make the graphics better in this game? I messed about with satuartion/Brightness etc and it made it stand out more in color but is there a way to make the pixels look more crisp? Is there a way to be able to see the menu in front of me? I feel as if i need take my headset off to read the menu and objectives because its far to close in VR.

When playing Star Wars Lego,i tried the vorpx setting and the game ran in full VR,the issue i had though is that i was right behind the chracter on screen and my head tracking was all over the place….I tried to fix the head tracking via the menu but it wouldnt work. I feel as if im far to close to the character and i actually feel sick (and i never get VR sickness from any game).

Outlast…Outlast looked good but not great in terms of character and item size. I feel as is im either to tall and the chairs and tables are to small or vice versa…im to small in VR…Game looks good though but the size and scale seems off.

TBH i actually really enjoyed playing in immersive mode…I played MK11 in that mode and the 3d effects were really good…I actually really enjoyed this. Sitting on a chair in VR but playing a game within a game really got me hooked…WHat other fighting games or 2d Platformers work well in this mode?

Thanks for any help..and i ll continue to read the forums for more knowledge….Glad i purchased this now.

Not entirely true, even for pro-users like you there may be one or the other thing you haven’t discoverd yet. :) For user profiles there are two additional options that may work under certain circumstances:

    1. TrackIR head tracking for any game that supports TrackIR input. vorpX displays according hints if TrackIR is detected.
    2. Gamepad emulation via head tracking: although quite laggy, and thus not ideal, this should work for most games that let you look around with a gamepad stick. Most sim games for example fall under that category. The method is worth a shot if no mouselook is available. Set ‘X-Box Gamepad Override’ to off and then enable ‘Head Tracking As Gamepad’. Best used in immersive screen/cinema mode, which makes the lag less annoying, but also works in FullVR mode.

    “I play a modded Fallout 4”
Have you tried to play it UN-modded ?

If it was me I would start at the beginning (with a fresh install of the game).
This way you can make sure everything is working as it should be first … Then start adding your mods, then you can narrow down what is causing your issue ;)

Hey man, seeing as you’re a Star Wars fan, how about playing Xwing Alliance with the VR mod. Would like someone to explain how to set it up and a window into the Tie Fighter TC. I haven’t touched it in a couple years and completely forgotten about how to get it setup.

Also I believe there’s a couple PSP Star Wars games, I know at least one of the Battlefronts work in VR but covering some of that would be great. Anything Star Wars related… I wasn’t a huge fan of fallen order apart from the VR. What about Knights of the old republic 1 and 2 and the MMORPG?

When things are allowed to grow naturally, awesome stuff takes place. Notice the Dolphin / PSP fork was growing, the developer was a genius and he got taken out by a bunch of social justice pricks.

GTA V had an awesome mod, it didn’t hurt anybody, it made the game absolutely amazing… taken out by a bunch of social justice pricks.

VRChat taken out by a bunch social justice pricks who couldn’t take a joke.

Our culture is in free fall right now, I’m sure you’re all paying attention.

If these people who feel offended at everything would just log off the game of life, all of humanity would benefit, we’d probably have George Jetson flying cars right now. Anything these rat bastards get their claws into, pretty much fails within a few years. Look at Disney Star Wars, my god that could’ve been awesome but no… take the best IPs from our culture and totally wipe them out. It’ll be no different in VR, they want to control what you think, how you play and what media you’re allowed to see. The Metaverse allows them to do that, not to mention the ‘always on/call home’ feature included in the new Oculus head sets. They really want to ensure that ‘wrong think’ does not go un-punished.

I really miss aspects of the world before the net. I didn’t have to worry about speaking my mind or videos being posted online. We had our local BBS and our offline games and that was it. Nobody was into anybody else’s business, the world was quiet, disconnected and computers were for business and games, there was no social media, myspace, tik tok. No stupid people used computers.

As technology proliferates and becomes acceptable, it seems it becomes dumbed down for society’s rejects. The only people on the BBS during my generation were HIGH IQ guys and girls who could build a computer without a second thought. Message forums were filled with interesting theories, questions and etiquette. By comparison to Facebook today, half the userbase belongs on Jerry Springer, the other half live in homeless shelters. The internet has really given stupid people a voice… and VR is the next step. I look at VorpX like that early tech, the only people using it are the HIGH IQ guys and gals. The rest of the VR world is going to be made up of hicks, thugs and losers wandering around being offended at everything.

    Hello community,

Forgive my bad English but I’ll try my best.
I have the following problem: I play a modded Fallout 4 that I start with the NMM with activated F4SE. However, I can’t get along with the setting of the VORPX. There are downloadable Fallout 4 profiles but in my Oculus Rift S it shows ‘flat and rigid’. Can someone help me how to work with the settings? The official Fallout 4 VR is out of the question for me because the version is not compatible with my modifications. I would be very grateful for any kind help :)

Has anyone had success getting the MS store version of Fallout 76 to work in VorpX?
I’ve changed the access permissions on the folder, can now view it’s contents, read / write, etc., but when launching, VorpX can’t find the install and I’m not sure how to direct VorpX to the folder.

Yes please! I just purchased VorpX specifically with the hopes of playing this game in G3D on my Index. I haven’t used VorpX before and now I’m trying to learn the whole program from the ground up just to play this game. Anyone that can help, please do!
I believe the engine is Unreal 4. I saw in a YT video to try using Jedi Fallen order or Abzu when creating a new profile. But no matter what I’ve tried I can’t even get it to hook. If anyone could help out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. <3

And by the way this game is pure art, it’s so amazingly gorgeous to look at and is atmospheric as HELL – it would be such an incredible experience in VR! You should check it out if you like HR Giger, atmospheric dark fantasy, Myst-like environmental puzzles, and ambient music. Help me live my fantasy of being on an alien planet in VR :D
