The info in the box was from “Possibly Chesko” On Reddit. He did the Lords work mapping that out for sure. I’m just passing it along ;)

I’d like to add my latest discovery for making Skyrim work the best it can – Fast memory.
I have been running 1866 DDR3 and started researching where I could go next to eeek out a few frames as my system is pretty powerful for a Z87 already. The sheer volume of conflicting info on memory speed effect on games is ridiculous.
Another Reddit poster gave me some of his own experiences and said that there’s gold in them thar timings. After a couple days of Google-fu, I decided that it made more sense to simply upgrade to faster ram in the first place and THEN start playing from there. Today the Magic Brown truck of Happiness dropped off 16 gig of G-Skill Trident DDR3 2400mhz.
My personal FPS torture tests are the Dragonreach stairs, The road outside Whiterun between Honningbrew and the Stables and the Falkreath forest. Using the XMP memory profiles only… The lows shown are the lowest even if they were just a quick blip. With no official benchmark, it’s about the best I can do so a FWIW applies.
—————-
Corsair Vengance @1866mhz CL9:
* Dragonreach stairs (headed down) had a rock bottom of 27FPS
* Road outside Whiterun had a minimum of 32FPS give or take.
* Falkreath forests were Rock bottom 38FPS depending.

Trident 2400 mhz CL10:
* Dragonreach stairs (headed down) had a rock bottom of 32FPS
* Road outside Whiterun had a minimum of 37FPS give or take.
* Falkreath forests were Rock bottom 42FPS depending.

Now consider that I tried to replicate the two as close as I could so they were not exact runs, but the trend is clear. I picked up about 5 FPS to my minimums. Overall the game got smoother and most outdoor areas bounce on the 45 FPS limit.
Happy camper here.
I changed the Device to vive. I did not see this on my first few attempts at getting the vorpx software to work. I have 3 games to test. Far cry 3: Blood Dragon, Metro: Last Light and Arma 3.
No dice on any of them. I have gotten last light to load but my frames are 20 because I’m running on my monitor and headset at the same time….
I tried to enter the options to lower the graphics but the FOV was like 20 and I could not read or mouse over to any settings. It took me a while to even click over to options…
The head tracking move the whole screen instead of the camera. I also had to invert y and x because by default its inverted.
I have got Skyrim working very well. I find I enjoy playing in Z3D for exterior areas because having a high frame-rate is worth sacrificing true stereo rendering and most of the distant visuals are beyond significant stereo separation anyway.
However, I find in interiors I prefer to use geometry 3D because so many close objects/walls look way more real in true stereo 3D. So I usually switch to geo3D if I will be doing a long dungeon and switch to Z-3D when I am exploring exteriors or slaying dragons.
It would be really great if it was possible to switch Z3D to Geo3D without having to restart the program (I know this was possible in Oblivion). I believe I saw this suggestion before and it does not work due to different rendering requirements for Geo 3D. However, if there was an automatic way to restart the VorpX render method with the click of a button without going back out to windows that would be cool. Just thought I would throw the idea out there again. Same could apply to fallout4 or other open world games (I never played fallout 4 so I don’t know if the switch is possible in that game).
Hello,
Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere – I’m playing DA: Inquisition in Virtual Cinema Mode on the following build:
Vive
Nvidia 980Ti
1920×1080 – Ultra settings
For the most part, it’s running fantastically. However, there are times when I’m in dialogue with NPCs when the game will shudder a bit – I’m not sure if I’m losing framerate or if this is some other config issue I need to address.
I start Vorpx, then Vorpx Desktop Viewer, and then start the game from Origin. Is there a better way I should be doing this?
Thanks!
It’s a whole new game. The first time I stood there with Lydia it was like “Holy FXXX she’s right freaking there!”. And that applies to ALL of it.
BTW…dragons are a lot bigger than they look on a monitor. A LOT bigger.
I’d also like to play DDO (dungeons/dragons online). I assume it has something to do with having to log in to the game client.
Blood Dragon still crashes on start using DX11 version. This is listed as fully compatible…. and I am not using Steam version. Just wondering if this is something on the radar since it is listed as fully compatible.
Tested FC4. Oculus 0.8, Uplay Version without Steam. Set FC4 to windowed and VorpX Pause Watcher. First you have a small Start Screen, then a loading Screen. When the loading bar is at around 50%, resume Watcher.
Far Cry VR I enjoyed Blood Dragon the most, because the graphic style works really good in VR instead of Himalaya FC4.
I tired booting Blood Dragon but I need to reinstall it I think it wont boot even witout vorpX.. Anyway if I come up with anything I’ll let you know, settings should basically be the same between the two I think. I’ll mess around with it later on tonight.
Unfortunately the issue is still not reproducible here on any machine, so I need your help for some more testing:
Could everyone with this issue and a legit copy of GTA V please check whether other 64bit games show the same symptoms? One of the current theories is that this may be an issue with the 64bit part of the Oculus runtime installation on your machines. If that is the case, 32bit games would work normally, but 64bit games (like GTA V) wouldn’t.
Most games are still 32bit, most popular examples of 64bit games are: Battlefield 4 (if not set to 32bit), Battlefield Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Thanks for your help.
I play an MMO called Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO) and it is a DirectX 9, 10, & 11 game. The only problem is that it requires a launcher to login and choose the server to connect to. I’m assuming this is what is causing vorpX not to catch it as a directX game. I have tried to use the actual exe not the launcher but the game will not start without it. I have tried launching with DirectX 9, 10, & 11, and I don’t have any other injection drivers or things like that. Is there any other way for me to force vorpX to hook into the game?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Two questions.
Is there any manual in order to use virtual cinema or how to launch it?
When you say ” Dragon Age: Inquisition (Z3D), optimized for Virtual Cinema mode” is that its only compatible via virtual cinema mode?
Yup dragon age inquisition
When it got over to the rift, vorpx did give me a message about resolution. I think it said the game needed to be set to 1920×1080. Clicked ok, checked the game resolution and it said 1920×1080. Thought when I was plaing the game before not on rift it was set to a higher res. maybe that’s why its screwing up. I’ll see if I can set the res 1920×1080 with vorpex off.(thought I doubt that res will be a available) maybe that will fix it?
This should more or less work like before. Any chance that you are trying Frostbyte engine games (Battlefield, Dragon Age)? These seem to be a bit unpredictable from time to time in this regard, but usually setting the resolution in the game is enough to force them to the right monitor.
