Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed? On nVidia graphics cards something like this could sometimes happen with very demanding games. Not just with vorpX, but any Rift app. With the latest drivers this is almost gone.
If that does not help, you may have to lower the game’s graphics settings further. Witcher 3 is a very demanding game. To get it run good, you have to play it on medium, better low settings, even on a highend machine.
Launched witcher 3 into vorpex cinema mode and i’m getting black artifacts while using it this way. Black tears or flashes of black shapes. This is for the whole screen (not just the giant virtual screen) any way to solve this?
Geforce 970 with oculus Dk2 0.7 I playing the game in z-3d mode
vorpX 0.9 will require the Oculus runtime 0.7. Extended mode is still available theoretically, but since it’s disabled by Oculus there is no way to use it anymore with Oculus headsets.
Witcher 3 currently has a very good Z-Buffer 3D implementation, there wasn’t time to check G3D feasibility yet and due to it not being a genuine first person game there are others with higher priority. What I can safely say though is that this is one the games where you *REALLY* should choose Z3D even if both modes are available for performance reasons. The best 3D doesn’t help a bit if a game can’t run at decent framerates with it.
Will VorpX 0.9 continue to support Oculus 0.6?
Also hows Witcher 3 support coming along?
Hi, is Witcher 3 supported in virtual cinema mode? Thanks
Hi, can anyone tell me how Witcher 2 in virtual cinema would compare to 3d vision? Thanks!
Any update on support for the Witcher 3? There a cheat script that lets you walk around in first person mode and I would really love to try that with vorpX! :) The Witcher 3 just doesn’t seem to launch when I try it with vorpX currently.
will tere be any vorpx setings ??

The Witcher 3 crash is being looked into right now. While it’s not exactly a great game for VR (3rd person), it certainly would be nice in Virtual Cinema mode. The issue seems to be quite odd and hard to locate though unfortunately, no guarantees for a solution yet.
Please use the wishlist sticky for wishes to avoid unneccesary clutter. Thanks! I will close this post.
The Witcher 3 crashes after it loads up. Almost works. Any chance of getting that to work?

Killing Floor 2
Any plans to get witcher 3 working with vorpx?
I have tested crysis now too.
The weapon and hands clearly are too big, it sometimes looks as if the weapon goes into the ground.
But I think the scale of the other objects is wrong too, some people look like action figures. (I tested with different 3d and fov settings)
I don´t think there’s a fix for that problem, but it affects only a few games.
The Bioshock, Witcher, Mass Effect or Borderlands games worked fine for me.
Running as admin should not be necessary, but if you run vorpX as admin, you should also run GTA V as admin (and vice versa). vorpX ideally should run with the same rights that the game runs with.
Please also check whether you have a process called “vorpControl64.dat” in your task manager. It may be the case that the 32bit vorpX is running running (hence The Witcher hooks), but the 64bit part that is needed for GTA V is not. Knowing that would at least give a hint what to look for.
Do the games you mention work in the other driver at all? Maybe you want to try Mass Effect 2 and 3 or The Witcher 2 in regard to HUD scaling or one of the many other games that have this feature.
I grant you the benefit of the doubt one last time before I finally will assume that you are simply trolling here for whatever reason.
Since we accidentally compared programs so much here, which I normally do not do, please allow me to repeat a few “little” things vorpX does more than others, in case someone stumbles upon this and takes what you say for granted.
– Two 3D modes in many games to either prefer speed or 3D quality
– Four or five times as many games supported
– DX9, DX10, DX11 instead of just DX9
– The new Virtual Cinema Mode for all three APIs, allowing you to play almost any DX9-DX11 game in your Rift
– Quite a bit better performance in important tiles like Skyrim
HUD scaling is not available for Bioshock Infinite, The Witcher or Mass Effect, which are the games I played the most and with the new driver and I think this feature is new (correct me if im false again), which may be why I didn´t found it in other games that I tweaked a while ago.
The fisheye effect is present for me regardless wich settings I use (also the default ones) and it may be not the distortion you think I mean, its a slight stretching when I move my head and its also noticeable in vireio, but much weaker, thats why it doesn´t bother me there and it´s not existant in Oculus Demos.
I didnt found a fix for that.
A tool to help finding the right depth isnt implemented either, you can change the depth, but don´t know if it is the right.
The latency enhancement is there, I never said its not, but it doesnt help against my motion sickness, so it´s useless for me.
And I never said, that you could`t tweak the head tracking in the VorpX menu, but its still nearly impossible to make it work perfekt (and I mean perfect), this could by seperating head tracking and mouse movement, which hasn´t been done.
So much to
There is however not a single point you mention that vorpX does not address one way or the other.
