    Wooo!

    Very exciting.

    Titanfall2, here I come.

    Awesome new features.

    Thanks Ralf!

Below is the list list of games that this feature will be enabled for in vorpX 21.2.0 (release tomorrow).

Tweakable options include the feature mode (off/auto hide/size and position only/always hidden), the auto hide timeout, the position of the weapon in 3d space, and weapon FOV and 3D-Strength for tweaking its size. Shouldn’t really be necessary to tweak anything though. Each profile has carefully chosen individual defaults that work just fine.

    Games for the first release:

    – Half-Life 2 (+episodes)
    – Portal 2
    – Black Mesa Source
    – Titanfall 2
    – Fallout 4
    – Crysis
    – Skyrim Special Edition
    – Aliens: Colonial Marines

More games will follow shortly, I’m fairly confident that adding the feature will be possible for about 4 out of 5 potential candidates, i.e. first person G3D games.

Note that in this first release there is no UI for changing gamepad/key assignments, will also follow shortly. For the time being make sure to use a game’s default bindings, otherwise vorpX might not be able to reliably detect when the weapon is supposed to be shown/hidden under all circumstances.

I forgot to mention I had admin active for vorpx due to recommendation for ACV don’t know if that makes a difference. Normally I don’t have that on. Anyway back to the point… I thought it might be the Origin/EA thing but I tested SW Jedi Fallen Order (an Origin game) and I could hook with quest 2 and obviously Rift S. I have not had any problems with any other games in vorpx or just full VR with the link quest2 and I have a lot of games. This is the only game so far(Titanfall 2) that I have not been able to hook with Q2 link. In other words Q2 link has worked in every game that I had in Rift S. I want to play in Q2 link more for the resolution buff but it’s a new headset for me and the Rift S is broken in and comfortable. I even have the G2 but it sits there idle because I hate WMR. I tried Virtual desktop a few times but I didn’t get it to work. What is Airlink?

I tested it with quest 2 link and could not get it to hook. I also tested ACV and it works with that. I know that’s a bummer because I wanted to play Titanfall on quest as well. There are a bunch of profiles on the cloud so I guess we can start testing them. If you or anyone else finds one that works please let us know.

HI, I just got the game on the steam sale and got very excited as I saw the VR gameplay by Bierdo Banjo on youtube. However, I have a different version with both Origin and Steam launcher involved, so it won’t work out of the box.

I try to get it work with Quest 2. Tried both with link and virtual desktop methods, with helper and without but it always launches in a window on my desktop and Steam VR Home starts on the Quest 2.

I guess the official Profile is optimized for the Origin version therefor it won’t hook it correctly, but that’s only a theory from my part.
Anyone could confirm that it works on Quest with the Steam/Origin version and what is the trick to get it work?

    Many thanks for any advice.

    Hey Ralf…

Do you have a list of titles we might expect this to feature on?
I deleted Titanfall2 because I couldn’t stand the size of the gun… but the G3D was awesome. I would’ve played it through even if the gun wasn’t visible at all.

Hi all, I have a brand new MSI GF65 laptop, i5-9xxx with an rtx 2060, plenty or ram and HD space.

I have failed to get titanfall 2 or VLC to work using vorpx with my oculus quest 2 (with cable).

I installed vorpx and oculus software (twice now)

I uninstalled Nortonlock and disabled all the settings in windows defender.

Also uninstalled: skype, msi dragon center, nvidia experience & control center

I made the rtx card the default graphics option (bios didn’t have the setting, so I disabled the Intel graphics card in the device manager).

I tried combinations of installing and running with admin rights.

Has anyone else had any issues like this? Thanks all!

I just got VorpX and I’ve been playing around with it trying to use it on Titanfall 2 and Mirror’s Edge but the gameplay is pixelated and blurry on both games. I’ve been trying to change the resolution in the Direct VR tab but there’s no option for that. I get an option where I can choose the quality but I can’t get it past “Decent”. It’s saying that I should add custom resolutions if I go over “Decent” so I added all the custom resolutions on this list:

Custom Resolutions for the Direct VR Settings Optimizer

After doing all that, I still can’t change the resolution, nor get past “Decent”.

If it helps at all, I’m trying to play the games on a Quest 2 and my PC is running a Ryzen 5 5600x, RTX 3070 and 16gb of RAM.

So the keys to open up the vorpx menu in game is affecting gameplay and I cannot seem to change anything. I cannot remap the button, nor can i change the button layout within titanfall 2 since it is not set up for a mouse (in the game settings). I tried to disable edge peek buttons but for some reason vorpx does not disable them.

I cannot use my special ability without going into edge peek mode

    Ralf,
I’ve had success with my VorpX experiences up until Ghostrunner. Relatively recent videos of people playing got me so excited to play, but after trying so many attempts with proper profiles, I’m facing this same issue…

Game loads up and I can use the vorpX menu, but about a minute in the menu stops working and I get an hour glass spin. If I tab out of the game and click the game window, the game starts playing, but when I put my headset on I just get a frozen still window of the game with an hour glass spinning. Seems like vorpX injects but then looses something, or my headset (rift s) is causing an issue. Yet, other games like titanfall 2 and mirrors edge catalyst work fine.

    Any insight would be amazing!

I’m having a similar issue. It launches and starts on my desktop with the vorpX watermark at the bottom but doesn’t display on my screen. Battlefield 4 and Titanfall 2 both work as expected through origin and I’ve disable origin overlay inside of all origin games. Not sure what’s different about BF3.

    Hey everyone,

So made a thread earlier in 2020 when lockdown started happening trying to get ideas for good games to play via Vorpx during the last year and wanted to make a new recommendation thread, if anyone was interested in posting their best Vorpx experiences.

My last thread I mentioned my favorite, before 2020, being modded 1st person Sekiro, 1st person Dark Souls 3, 1st Person Mass Effect Andromeda

So I didnt get to do as much Vorpx gaming in 2020 as I would have liked, but I would like to point out some great experiences I had in Vorpx in 2020

    So for new recommendations:

Resident Evil 7 – even with Z-Adaptive, not Geo3d. There were some issues with gun ghosting and shadows in Geo 3d for me, but Z-Adaptive didnt have those at all.

Seriously – if you were kinda bored with RE, I was too, but… this game is just a goddamn treasure and should be experienced by -ANYONE- with Vorpx. You can find it for like 8 bucks on Keys sites.

Metro Exodus was pretty fantastic as well, was happy with the direction that game took with the open world FPS design and surprised me with how well it ran in Vorpx.

Titanfall 2 – Ran incredibly smooth and just a great campaign in VR

On a more difficult recommendation, got Dark souls 2 to work in 1st person VR with Cheat Engine. That was a fun one, you could find the instructions online if you wanted to – but Id Recommend Sekiro or Dark Souls 3 before it, much easier to get up and running.

So anyone have any games they thought were particularly good to experience they want to point out in the last few months/year?

Thanks for your time and take care

Happy New Year, Raf! So I have been playing around with a few games likes Tomb Raider, Bioshock, Titanfall 2 and I get some flickering/shimmering around the edges. Is this due to the high resolutions that Im trying to run? My reprojection ratio shows like 40% or something.

Not every game has a DirectVR button. The button is only available/necessary in games where vorpX scans the game’s memory for head rotation/position or FOV memory addresses.

In Titanfall 2 the memory scanner is not used, instead DirectVR adjusts the FOV via editing the game’s .ini file, while tracking is done via mouse emulation, hence there is no memory scan button.

No that’s not it. The game is hooked and don’t use cinema mode.
Usually when I play games with vorpX (HL2, Portal, Bioshock…) I need to hit the DirectVR button so that vorpX adjust rotation, fov, tracking.
With Titanfall 2, the DirectVR button is not available (I can’t find it anywhere).
