Hi, when playing WOW (World of Warcraft) the mouse cursor disappears almost exactly after 5 minutes. The only way to get the mouse cursor back is to change the from windowed to full screen (visa versa) or quit the game and restart.
I do notice that there is a screen flash when this happens as well and the 3d depth changes slightly.
    Everything else is working great.

    I am running on:
    Windows 10
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5820K CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz
    64 GB RAM
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 TI
    HTC Vive (original)

All drivers appear to be up-to-date.

    Hey,

very new VR and vorpX user here. First game I try to play with vorpX is WoW, but I really can’t say that I like what I see. I hope my settings are just very bad. I am using the “official” vorpX WoW cloud profile and want to play in Full VR.

I’ve set FOV to maximum (1.5?) and zoom into first person view. The FoV is ok then but if I move my head, the camera doesn’t move with my head. I have to press right mouse button to have the camera lock to my head’s movement. Is there any other better option than pressing RMB? I thought the camera would always follow my head movement.

Furthermore anything looks very strange as if I was playing in 640×360. On my monitor anything is super sharp (3440×1440 resolution) but on my headset (Quest 2) it is so pixelated and blurry.

What can I do? Or is this just how it is?

    Hey,

I’ve just bought vorpX to play WoW with it. At least this will be my first try, the supported games list looks great and I will definitely try out differnet games later.

But first things first and first thing has to be WoW, but I can’t get it to work with vorpX.

I’ve downloaded the World of Warcraft [vorpX] cloud profile and startet the game in windowed mode. Only thing that happens is that I get a message box saying “Attaching to Wow.exe” and this seems to time out. Afterwards I get a choice of error solutions but installing the hook helper or starting vorpX with admin rights doesn’t help.

What else can I do? There is no antivirus software that could block anything.

Please help me, I’d love to play this game in full 3D mode.

Update: once again i uninstall and reinstalled my nvidia rtx 2080 ti driver… and yet still..
the resolution changes, the game window looks compressed giving a somewhat narrow resolution look
and the cursor disappears..my only option i found was to click and drag out the size of the game in windowed mode(doing this by removing the headset and using my regular screen) which temporarily fixes it.. only this is happening with world of warcraft..any other game is fine..

So i just got a new vavle index a couple weeks ago and for and since then everything has been fine..til yesterday i noticed i had corrupt file in vorpx ..i couldn’t access the config page.. so i reinstalled vorpx and everything was ok until i started playing world of warcraft and 20 min into the game… the screen had a narrow ,long look to it and my cursor vanished… so i restarted the game and it happened again…i decided to play world war z and everything was fine..i went back to wow and it happened again… i check the resolution and pushed it to 2283×1209 and it remained narrow and the characters in game look a bit tall and skinny..i checked my nvidia 2080 driver and its the most recent driver..any clue ?? have you heard of this before?

I just want to say I got the latest update tonight, and instead of the simple triangle VorpX cursor, now my World of Warcraft shows the actual WoW cursor that changes depending on what you are hovering over. Thank you!! This is so nice.

Heavily invasive anticheat software like BattleEye etc. usually prevents vorpX from hooking at all. Games with more lightweight approaches may technically work, but whether or not that potentially violates a game’s license agreement, only the game dev can tell you.

That said, e.g. various Battlefield games, Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76, World of Warcraft and other games have been played by users for years. I can’t guarantee anything though.

@ xilc: With the Link cable there is no need for using SteamVR with a Quest usually except for some DX12 games. Try to run vorpX in native Oculus mode by selecting Oculus as your headset type in the vorpX config app.

SteamVR is only needed for Virtual Desktop. In that case you have to select SteamVR as headset type in the vorpX config app AND enable SteamVR capturing in Virtual Desktop.

    @ Ralf

Hi — I tried this, and it works for Left 4 Dead 2, Fallout 4… Just not World of Warcraft. Is this game no longer supported?

I’m using an Oculus Link cable with my Quest 2. I have the Oculus app installed, Vorpx installed fully, and I also have steam open with the Steam VR app installed.

I tried World of Warcraft first, and it says “Attaching to WoW”… But I look on Steam VR and it says “Inactive. Please put on your headset” so I put it on… and nothing happens on my headset. I stay on the home screen

I’ve also tried using Virtual Desktop as well, and I can see WoW as a windowed screen on the VR headset…. but it’s just a floating window. No actual VR or freelook

Any tips? For a quest 2, do I need to have the configuration set to Steam VR, or Oculus ?

Ok, so in the end, it was a two-pronged solution.

    1. Reset the profile just like you said, under Local Profiles. Selected World of Warcraft and reset it.

After that, I let VorpX launch Wow. It was better, however, still not great.

    2. I figured out the Wow in-game resolution settings
    > Switch to Windowed mode
    > Switch Resolution Scale down to the lower resolution (1920×1080)
    > Maximize the Wow Window so it stretches to fill the whole screen

Now the game runs at full fps in VR again.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

does WoW work on vorpx 3d with oculus rift s? I don’t mean the big screen effect, but converting to 3d to actually get the immersion effect.

And if it works, is it with official servers (latest addition)?
Do Ihave to look for some old versions of pirated servers?

I’d love to beat the pandaria to 3d.

    Hi there,

I’ve been enjoying VorpX tremendously. With my old monitors, I ran World of Warcraft at 1920×1080 Full screen windowed, qraphics quality 10. VorpX just did whatever it did, and the game was wonderful on Oculus Quest 2 with Link.

My video card was and still is NVidia GeForce GTX 1070.

Now I got new 4k monitors. I upped my resolution to 3480 x 2160. Works great in Windows, works great in Wow outside of VR.

But VorpX… no longer happy. I go in there, and it’s like 8 fps. Not usable. I thought VorpX automatically adjusts the game settings to make it work well in VR, but it looks like it’s not doing it.

I tried changing the resolution in Wow back to what it was – still bad.

I tried changing the resolution of the left monitor to what it was + the game down to the same 1920×1080 res, and it’s better, but not like it used to be! Plus it’s a huge hassle changing that, and having all my regular Windows stuff shift and resize and have to put it back after gaming.

I tried reducing graphics quality in-game. Again, it’s better, but really not great how it was before!

What’s the right way to have VorpX realize what it has to do with the monitor and game running at the higher resolution, at quality 10, but shift it so it works great in VR again like before?

    Thanks so much!

Are there any plans for this to be supported in the future? I get a significantly higher frame rate using DX12 on a monitor. The game doesn’t work using DX12 and the default WoW profile.
