i have searched forums, videos and tried to get as much info as i could about running vorpx + pimax 4k but i am still confused.

    i use vorpx 17.2.3 and pimax – pisetup /piplay (whatever its called) v. 1.2.93.
pimax is working well with steam/steam vr, piplay sees the headset – all is good.

what i have a prob with is vorpx.
    1. i run steam – steam vr
    2. i run vorpx config. settings for pimax in general tab “steam vr htc vive”
or should i go with oculus instead? i tried to set “generic vr headset” where i set the resolution to 2560×1440 and in “desktop monitors” i used “system settings” option. nothing worked.

    3. in “game settings optimizer” i used diablo 3 file – i hit optimize button.
    4. i startedn diablo 3 game, got “split screen” as in vr but on my 4k monitor only!
all what i saw on pimax was just some gray generic grid. have no idea how to get it into pimax. btw i dont see pimax as a second monitor. dont even know if i should see it as a second monitor.

any idea what am i doing wrong here?

i tried to run world of warcraft on private server on pimax using vorpx.
i duplicated the profile in “local profiles” tab, linked exe file but when i hit “apply” button, no shortcut on my desktop was created. how to make one? what am i doing wrong?

the only game so far i was able to play was minecraft.

    thank you in advance.

    Hi folks,
Considering buying pimax 4k + vorpx software. More or less the only game i play these days is world of war tbc on private server.

My question is if wow works fine in vr with vorpx – sense of full 3d enviro, if the ui would be readable on pimax 4k, if the 2d elements (grass etc) are rendered properly within depth, if the mouse would work properly.

Ralf mentioned something about new release of vorpx where ui would work properly if i remember well. Just hoping for good vr experience.

Pimax 4k suits me well because I dont wanna move around the room and i dont really need vr controllers. Mouse and the keyboard is just fine.

    Thank you in advance!
    Rob.

I guess I don’t get what this software is for as all it seems to do is add Cinema mode but I could already do this with Oculus Rift software and any game I own. I would like to give this software the kind of praises you are but I just purchased it today and feel like I wasted $42. Does VorpX do anything besides Cinema mode for games? So far Portal 2, Diablo 3, and World of Warcraft tried and all of them give me Cinema mode with head tracking. If this is it I would rather play on a monitor. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Portal 2 was the best of the group as you could scan and then it gives you more of a 3D look but you are still looking through a 4:3 screen.

World of Warcraft will have full Geometry 3D support incl. HUD/UI handling with the next vorpX version. Was just finished a few days ago.

    With mods like Console Port…

I think WoW could be very playable inside of VR, but when I tried it awhile back I noticed the UI layer wasn’t being rendered properly. Has this been fixed in recent versions of VorpX?

I’m pretty new yet on VR and vorpx. I installed WoW-Mania client and tried to play it with vorpx.

Their licent is version 3.3.5, Win32. vorpx has WoW profile and wow.exe is listed there. But vorpx just doesn’t recognize the game. It executes and runs normally, and my Oculus shows Oculus home page.

I checked and Watcher is enabled. I tried with Outlast and vorpx recognizes it.

Any idea what I may be missing?

As the title suggests I’d like to know what MMORPGs anyone has tried and got working and to what degree. I used to be a very big MMO gamer, Lineage2, WoW, Aion, Rift, AoC, you name it and I’ve probably tried it. I kinda fell out of MMOs but now I’ve finally got a VR HMD, Omni Treadmill and Vorpx and am ready to give it another go.

    So far I’ve only tried 2 MMO’s and gotten them both to work;
    Vanilla World of Warcraft
    Final Fantasy XIV

However both of these are lacking the ‘Direct 3d Scan’ (pls Ralf just hardcode Vanilla WoW to work, I will literally pay any price) but both are still very fun to play. It just takes a bit to get used to the drawback of first person in these games as for some reason there is a limit to how far up and down you can look (which really sucks in WoW, you WILL get raped by gnome rogues and never see them)

So, any MMO’s that work with the full scan?

    Hi.

Have anyone tried to set up Vorpx with these games? And how did they fell/run with a oculus cv1?

    Metro 2033
    Metro Last light
    Arma 3
    World of warcraft

I can only find a few topics about these titles from well over a year ago, and they are not really what im looking for.

Under the supported games section it states WoW should work in stereo 3d and it does not. Any idea on when this will work? It looks like you can’t enable the G3D mode which is causing it. I tried portal 2 and it worked w/ G3D set.

    It’s misleading and false advertising.

I was wondering if there is any profile that may work with World of Warcraft. I’m of course looking for the best possible experience like Geometry 3D but will settle for regular 3d in stereoscopic. Must be compatible with CV1. Also I only have access to WotLK and Cataclysm. Wondering what profile would work best for this. I’m sure a lot of others would be happy to know as well. Anyone know? Ralf do you have any suggestions?

Does anyone know which setting I use that will work with a Vanilla World of Warcraft private server? I can’t seem to find one yet, idk anything about Vanilla WoWs settings so I don’t know what I should be looking for. Thanks

I have been trying to get world of warcraft to run with the vorpx software but as soon as i launch it, the game crashes saying fatal error “access violation”. i have tried running 32 bit, 64 bit, and other custom profiles but nothing has worked so far.

Ralph was right. The overbright oversaturated colours of Skyrim SE look horrible. Looks more like playing World of Warcraft or some kind of cartoon now.

One of the biggest differences is the almost complete removal of fog and grey atmospheric haze that gave the distant mountains a much better far – off cold stark look in the original Skyrim. In the SE they look a weird powder blue and stick out in a weird way in front of the ultra saturated vibrant blue sky that looks like a big blue rubber balloon. The rainy or cloudy weathers look a little better but still not as good as original IMHO.

On the + side mountain flicker z fighting is over 95% fixed.
If the FPS and smoothness of SE is much better in VORPX I really hope some mods give back the original look of the game. Mods are going up like crazy so I am hopeful.

Also on the + side old saves and even moded saves seem to work okay for me.

Side note: The water is better now too, but still not as good as RealisticWaterII. Unfortunately the water animation is now tied to global timescale so if you use Set timescale to xx the water animation changes. I like to use timescale 2 to 5 so that you don’t go from midday sun to sunset to midnight in less than 30 mins. However that makes slow motion water. This was the case back in Oblivion too and there never was a way around it. Hopefully they remake RealisticWaterII as well.

I’m trying to play WoW in just the cinema mode but the cursor does not line up with the Vorpx cursor. For instance I go to click 1 button but it actually clicks somewhere left or right of where I’m clicking. Anyone know how to fix this?
