Vorpx looks as good as your hardware allows, play at desktop resolution and default game fov and you will have a bad time. Set game to 120 fov and 4k resolution and it looks amazing, if you can manage.

4k is not an obligatory requirement, but its ideal to look forward to.

Vorpx doesnt convert games into vr like vr mods, but it can look simlar by using 1:1 head tracking and screen glued to your face, however most of your experience will prbably similar to using reshade+super3d shader+vr desktop or bigscreen.

You can add custom resolutions to your monitor and run games at at least 2688×1680 with that free reshade shader and set game fov to 120 to kinda get free vorpx experience.

Youtube btw has SBS videos of people using vorpx, but its really bad and people doing it didnt know what they were doing.

It kinda worked, used DX11 and activated SBS stereo 3D in the settings of Dolphin, but the result is notat all what I was I expecting.
I can “play” (it’s really slow and buggy” but it is in theater mode, no head tracking (it is a mess when I use the full VR mode).
Guess I’m stuck to play with the discontinued Dolphin VR :-/

If Dolphin is like other emulators, vorpx won’t hook until you actually run a game. You also need to gave your graphics api set to opengl, and the vorpx profile for dolphin expects the input to be in sbs format, if I’m not mistaken.

Today ive overdone the old profile, less distortion, cinema mode is default now. I recommend a 3200×2400 custom resolution or similar. If may need to keep an eye on the image format (which is currently set to “stretched”) in case you choose to use a different format in the game setting.

    – Set game to 3D mode (SBS)
    – Change VorpX image format individually
    – Full VR available
    – Cinema Mode recommended
    – Profile available at the cloud

Read Here how to setup the game for Side by Side mode.

..This game looks so sweet in VR with a high custom resolution, just like an up to date game. – Promised !

I stand corrected. I don’t know what that sbs stuff in the profile notes is all about, but I assigned the profile to a random game and can see from the vorpx log that it’s trying to hook dx12, so I guess it probably works.

    “No dispone de 3DGeometrico.”

As far as I can tell, the profile expects an sbs source, so unless gears 5 can do
that natively, the profile is flat.

Very much like the legnaVR “detroit become human” profile – a vulkan game not compatible with vorpx – don’t know the purpose of those profiles, other than to confuse people.

I’ve been playing through it again – absolutely fantastic game for 3D. I have to take frequent breaks in the tombs and crypts because the climbing makes me dizzy as hell – I know I ain’t gonna fall but it sure feels like I am.

Got a decent performance boost from disabling SMT – game was optimized for intel/amd or so I’ve heard, but I’m running on ryzen/nvidia. I really wish the profile allowed dx12 because it runs substantially faster on my system.

Anyway the game supports sbs natively so vorpx is just a viewer and headtracking add-on for the most part. Thank the game devs.

Vorpx supports some games with build-in 3D, in that profiles Z3D and G3D is deactivated and hidden, for example the last couple Tomb Raider Profiles. This Profiles support Side-by-Side 3D input, as well as the vorpx Desktop Viewer. Start games that are officially supported(!) by Reshade’s Depth3D in SBS Mode and hook it with the Tomb Raider Profiles or other profiles that are similar (Deus EX ?), and enjoy the full vorpx features with an alternative 3D-Driver for example Depth3D or TriDef.

The Depth3d VR Companion App is Crap, use vorpx for full comfort !

What i wish for the future is a similar vorpx profile that supports DX12 !

Hi I just realized this feature existed and have a question.

Is it possible to support 3d monitor formats other than SBS 3D

I have an LG 3d Monitor and would like Line Interleaved and Line Interleaved Reverse

this would be a great bonus since products like
3d Vision and Tridef have bit the dust.

I watched the video with virtual desktop in half-sbs mode and there’s depth, probably would look better uncompressed. Not inclined to test the profile though.

I have now tested this profile, Ive tried all settings it offers (fantastic and good only to see if it kills antialiasing or something in the way), I have run app windowed and fullscreen, I have tried making my own profile based on unity one I had success in other games, but alas none of my effort was fruitful to get it have any depth not on yours nor my own profiles.

Are you absolutely sure there was actual depth? Can you make steamvr mirror screenshot of sbs to manually check if there is any difference between eye renders?..oh wait you have a video…which is hard to check due to compression and fake depth things like dof etc they have used but it looks like there is slight depth when I overlay pictures in photoshop…need to see if its my eyes or my vorpx misbehaving now

SBS doesnt mean stereoscopic necessarily , so if a game is 2D images will never have depth. I use SBS in order to provide a unique image format to viewers of my gallery.

Those SBS screenshots have 100% matching imagies, no stereo in any of them. I checked crosseyed, couldnt see depth and overlayed them on top of each other in photoshop with 100% match.

Its fine if its just cinema mode to play the game, was just confused why example screenshots are SBS without any depth.

Hi Ralf, this did the trick – screen stopped spinning like crazy. One thing I noticed: my values were nowhere near -1.0. They were: -1000000,000000 (note: modified regional settings here using comma and period inverted – Brazil).

Right now it’s not possible for me to keep plugging/unplugging USBs (case is inserted into the furniture, will move it to another place in a few weeks), so I’ll test again removing all USBs later. I mainly want to play a few platformers with some 3D, so headtracking isn’t a priority right now.

    Thanks for the help!

Thanks for this profile, I didn’t know this game.
And thanks for posting SBS preview of every profile, they’re very useful for me (I use a Loreo Lite 3D viewer)
