Same error here with Rise of the Tomb Raider (v1.0 build 813.4_64; Steam). Hangs at ‘Attaching to ROTTR.exe / This takes quite a while…’.
The title launcher appears first with the vorpX ‘Attaching to ROTTR.exe’ window a few seconds later (with the ‘exclude/close/do nothing’ options appearing sixty seconds later).
Headset is stuck with the null loading window stating ‘Rise of the Tomb Raider / Loading…’ and the game icon in the bottom left.
I was anticipating this title to be work without having to use the built-in stereoscopic SBS option in conjunction with vorpX desktop viewer.
Tried importing cloud profile, manually adding to exclude list (doesn’t give the error but doesn’t hook either), adding steamapps folder to Windows Defender exclusions (vorpX is already there as the config app was flagged as virus with the 17.3 Witcher hotfix), running vorpX as admin, creating vorpX shortcut and adding ‘-nolauncher’ option. There’s no injection conflict processes that I can see.
There was some noise at release about the title needing dxgi files deleted from install directory to work… worth mentioning.
17.3 working very well otherwise.
3dmigoto can convert Nvidia anaglyph sbs to normal 3D without the colors. Virtual Desktop implemented this method in a recent update. Could you include such a feature for games that don’t support G3D as an alternative for Z3D?
thas what i expected.. because nothing beats vorpx in its G3D setting. I have an awfull lot of games i played SBS with helix mods. Those were based on the nvidia 3dplay, unfortunately the resolution is 1920X1024 @24 hz or 1020X740 @60hz but undoubtable the stereo effect is superb like vorpx one. So native vr games with no G3D like visualization are not worth playing for me. I remember back those days with DK1 and skyrim (and a few other games) that the world looks coool because the castles were when you would look up to them like high rise buildings and when you look down a mountain you almost get a heart attack and the people in game were as tall as real people.
But i like the G3D effect much more its like moving toy figures around and the environment is like a 3d phantasy
Playing dying light is fighting lifelike tall zombies…. …only my view….
Tridef offers the ability to export ONLY to desktop in SBS so you can play 3d games in BigScreenBeta VR.
@Ralf can you please add this functionality?
Just brought the program today and am trying out the cinema mode through vlc and all is well except I can’t for the life of me figure out how to merge the twin images for SBS or over under 3d movies.
I just get twin images which don’t interweave.
Now I’ve explored through the image settings and there doesn’t appear to be an option for 3d.
The ‘content’ option only scrolls between ‘normal’ or ‘circular’. Should I be using vlc settings? What am I missing?
I would like to know this as well.
I have tried for several days to get XIV to work in VR with many different software and have yet to get anything better than a simple (and sometimes weird looking) SBS 3D view of the game in Vorpx desktop viewer or Big screen beta.
hi ur talking about that depht shaders? Here the author has intriduced that feature along with those super depth shaders. That work on CV1 but no need to have voprx alongside. However these reshade effects worg SBS or topp, bottom down. But that actually not to compare with G3D, its just a flat z buffer like image or the compatibility, convergence mode from Nvidia…
Hi Ralf ,danke für die Antwort erstmal
The Thing is ,the double images what i see and am talking about ,they are caused by this displaymodes sbs or over and under.;-) The 3d is not full syncronized ,it looks like if somebody is crosseyed
With an alternative videoplayer like “deovr” i have sometimes the same double images but in their menu is an option to setoff the 3dimage and reset it and then the double images are syncronized correctly
In trine ,i tried every 3doption ,the bug is every time there ,maybe caused by an update gameswise?
I often use the Virtual Cinema mode. I’m enjoying using it with SBS in “Rise of the Tomb Raider” (I can select it from the VorpX in-game menu). But I cannot select it in “Crysis 3” (i believe Geometry 3D has too many glitches, especially with glass). How can I enable it?
i managed to make the 3d geometry work, you just need to get the Depth access,
what programm you need is reshade https://reshade.me/ and https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D
only what you need is the depth access or it wont really work with the 3D,
if you can’t manage to get the depth access then use my ini file and put it where the .exe file is https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6UEgEz-ERXxbWd3TUNxSzh3S3c

what im using with my HTC vive is Virtual Desktop and active SBS and thats it !

CryZENx~
I uninstalled MEA after the trial so I can’t test what works and what not.
Since I posted first about Tridef here I want to say that I don’t see it as a product in the same category as VorpX. One of them is specifically useful with 3D TV sets, the other one is VR specific. And while I have no intention in discussing Tridef here, there is something I wanted to say about VR theather mode vs 3D TV.
I feel I (and other users that own and use 3D TV sets) have a different idea of what we value in VoprX the most. For me it is the DirectVR and the way VorpX turns an old flat game into a VR experience. I actually started seriously replaying Skyrim and FO3/NV (TTW) in the past weeks because they feel now like completely different games. And the heavily modded Skyrim playthru I’m doing now is one of the 3 best experiences I ever had in VR.
I completely ignore the existence of the Theater mode. The resolution of the current HMDs, the SDE, the sweets spot issues, the general inconveniences coming from wearing the headset for hours, make me prefer the big 3D TV. In the next few years – until the screens, the graphic hardware, the optics in the VR headsets improve a lot, playing on a 3D TV will be a vastly superior experience to any form of VR theater mode. (I don’t know if providing a 3D SBS stream to a monitor/TV is something that was ever considered as an option for VorpX.)
As as result of all this I consider all the time spent into making a game playable in theater mode in VR to be wasted. As opposed to making a game be able to be experienced and played as a VR experience. It is slower and harder to do I guess, but it is worth it. Just my 2 cents.
In an effort to help convince Ralph to make this feature optional – heck even to allow us to put a logo of our own, I too have begun applying my own version of a VorpX indication in my videos. I’ve recently produced one video with the 2D mirror which contains the watermark, and had to modify my title generating app to remove the VorpX logo on my end, because otherwise I had two VorpX watermarks in the shot.
2D: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLQxFVD3KII
3D (Raw VR): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev3IbPgKxz8
3D (HSBS): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-RTRjI0tD0
As for VorpX cross promotion, please feel free to reach out to us via email to organize something more efficient. A monthly game giveaway based on a VorpX YouTube video contest would probably yield a lot more immediate attention to the product than an enforced watermark.
Hope this gets resolved.
@NipOC
You´re right, I only used SBS with vorpx.
For 3dvision I used 3DMigoto by helifax. If youre interested, you could look here:

@bhaal66
how do you use sbs with 3dvision?
Yeah, that would be pretty cool. So Ralf, could you please add the SBS feature as you mentioned before. I think many people really like the deus ex games, so it sure wouldn´t be a waste of time. :)
