3D SBS native games like Deus Ex mankind divided have much higher performance on the new Vorpx desktop viewer than they do on other SBS virtual monitors I have tried. (Same goes for games getting SBS output from other drivers.)
I did encounter one native 3D SBS game (Doom 3 BFG) that refused to launch while in desktop viewer and have sent the troubleshoot logs via email.
Really appreciate all the different resolutions / aspect ratios being baked in as I kept having to manually add these every nvidia driver update (clean installs..) Also allows the use of DSR factors when not using the headset.
@Boblekobold Have you tried windowed / fullscreen etc. in game settings? Some games allow you to change resolutions in some modes but not in others.
There is now a profile for diablo 4 with depth 3d with addon.
It’s working great on my Pimax Crystal, i can’t imagine entering a dungeon now in plain 2D !
Even better using the super 3d feature: you get full res on each eye instead of half as in sbs.
(unfortunately i must have done something wrong yesterday, now when i try to use super 3D the image is all magenta, maybe somebody knows why ?)
Any game i run at 3840x1080p is squished. I tried some tools like IntegerScale, Flawless Widescreen and Borderless Gaming – sadly none helped. There must be a way to make em work. When i switch to Desktop and back to the Game its rendered correctly for a fraction of a second and then going to squished again. this is what it looks like for any game.

Yes, that’s the SBS mode vorpX handles.
The way vorpX does it is actually even a bit better than half width SBS normally would be since images are always rendered at full width first and then scaled down to half width when drawing the SBS image, resulting in a 2×1 supersampled image with more preserved detail compared to directly rendering at half width.
I just got glasses free tablet Lume Pad 2 and one of its upcoming features will be possibility to stream PC 3d content on the tablet.
I know VorpX now supports non-VR 3d content, but I wonder if it renders to the PC’s primary display as Half-Width SBS as this will be needed to work on Lume Pad 2.
Hi
I’m struggling to get the virtual monitor to work.
The issue, I think, is that I’m using a laptop so the main display is on the intel GPU not the Nvidia GPU.
Annoyingly I can’t seem to turn off the integrated graphics in the BIOS.
So I’m kind of stuck.
I (briefly) managed to get it working by disabling the graphics card in the device manager, but it was extremely laggy on the vm and then reverted back to just a black screen when windows figured out what I was trying to do and forced the integrated monitor onto the basic display driver.
Anyone found a workaround for this?
Long story short, I’m trying to get Ryujinx into a 360 vr environment so I can use reshade with superdepth3d and SBS view.
Ryujinx doesn’t seem to hook natively to Vorpx which I guess would have been the most efficient scenario. Not entirely sure why it doesn’t hook – but potentially because it runs on vulkan and/or OpenGL
Anyway, any tips from anyone?
The mono/stereo settings are on top of the image page in the vorpX menu i profiles that expect stereo input.
To create an individual SBS profile for a game/app you can try the Basic SBS profile from the cloud. Won’t work with Yuzu though. In that case the destop viewer is the only option.
I have problem logging in. I bought my vorpx in 2019 and have not used it since 2021 i think, now I installed it again and tried to login but when i use the key i bought it just get message “Registration did not succeed” . I have contacted vorpx support about this but still no mail from them after 12hours. maybe i will get a mail after 48hours. Hope i get an answer soon. I want to try 3D sbs with my nreal air glasses on cyberpunk
how set desktop viewer in sbs mode?
Im using the HP Reverb G2 to try playing Witcher 3 in VR, but it just says “attaching to Witcher 3.exe” but still launches, and it doesnt go into VR. I’ve also attempted Tiny Tinas Wonderlands and while it does go into VR and head tracking mode, there doesn’t appear to be any 3d effect.
Also, i was wondering if there was a way to experience SBS Reshade? On the Oculus i just launched Bigscreen and then used the 3d Reshade in games to acheive the 3d effect i wanted, but the HP Reverb G2 doesnt have a native Bigscreen app? What can i do?
This is a vorpx forum and i can’t give you support for Reshade SBS 3D.
But in general you can capture any SBS 3D Game, 3D movie or anything else with a SBS 3D Output with the vorpx desktop viewer. You have to run the game as borderless fullscreen. With vorpx desktop viewer you will get much better results then the other options for example Virtual Desktop, Bigscreen etc., with vorpx it just looks better and the game runs stable.
For the Emu settings search on the rpcs3 wiki page and for example reddit forum or the steam forum.
It is all a little bit tricky and you must have very good nerves, but when the PS3 game runs, it’s a awesome experience to play the games in 3D on your Headset.
RE: Dave – You generate SBS 3D in RPCS3 via Reshade?
VorpX dont have profil for RPCS3. Its “Vulkan aplication”.
Am i saying it right?
@ Mr. Schneeps:
You can always disable the virtual display by exiting the desktop viewer or choosing ‘Disable Virtual Monitor’ in the vorpX tray icon’s right click menu.
What’s new this time is that vorpX per default uses the headset activity to switch the virtual display on/off, most headsets have an IR sensor for that. Possible that the G2 doesn’t report inactivity a few seconds after taking off the headset as one might expect. By chance I have one here, so I can check that. Thanks for the hint.
You can fairly easily go back to how things worked before: on the new ‘Virtual Monitor’ page in the config app uncheck ‘Activate when you put on your headset’. That way the virtual display should behave like before, additionally you might want to check ‘Allow manual activation’.
PS: If you remember how that happened, it would great if you could let me know how you managed to get the black screen on boot, and whether maybe at least it was gone again on the next boot after that.
@ drowhunter:
That is the case. Frankly I haven’t tried an external 3D solution myself yet, but it should work just fine. What I’m not so sure about is whether a 32:9 display is of any help for e.g. double wide 16:9 SBS. If you try, I’d be happy to hear if/how that helps in any way.
The more interesting thing in terms of playing games via the desktop viewer is probably the virtual display running at your headset refresh rate. As far as I’m aware no other desktop capture app can do that. Not really the original reason for adding the virtual display, but a nice extra benefit.
Wow this Virtual Screen sounds great!
Tell me , can it still be used to view SBS content?
A virtual 32×9 screen with SBS support would be great for Stereo 3D games.
I know vorpx is all about VR and less about s3D and that’s fine, I’m okay with letting other software do the work of creating the SBS content like reshade.
Amazing Resident Evil 2 on 3D projector..
A must for every fan 3D SBS..
Perfect, thx Ralf….
