I am not able to get Vorpx to launch with BF4. If anyone knows which is the correct file path and exe to create a desktop shortcut please post here. Or if you did something special to get it to work.

    Thanks.

    Hi nvstewart,

You could try to ALT-TAB to the desktop and back, which resets the rendering device. Very strange though that this happens with all your games.

Also make sure to try the safe settings for the display configuration: Clone mode in Windows and ‘Use system settings’ in the vorpX Config Utility.

To get a new download link, please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com .

    Hi All,
i confirm the cracked version of the game works fine.
Here is the checklist to play Bioshock Infinite with the Oculus Rift if you have bought the steam version of the game.

we have to replace the binary file BioShockInfinite.exe, set your language and copy your savegame files.

    1. First, check your version of Bioshock (right click, details on the binary file). Normally you have the propriety “file version : 1.1.22.55730” if you have the last update.
    2. Download only the crack for your version of Bioshock
search for “bioshock infinite 1.1.22.55730” for example
    or go there
    3. Run Update_v1.1.22.55730.exe from the /Update dir to install the Update
    4. Copy over the cracked content from the /Crack dir to Binaries\Win32 dir.
    6. then change the language in the ini files (LumaEmu.ini and Unleashed.ini for me) and in d:\Users\user_name\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config\XEngine.ini language=XXX
    7. You have to copy your savegame files too, from the steam clound
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\XXXXXXXX\8870\remote\savedata\ to local
    c:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\SKIDROW\8870\Storage\savedata\

Someone asked a while back if System Shock 2 works or not. I just bought it for Steam for $3 on their weekend special and it works really well for me.

    Hope I dont get scared.

vorpX tries to attach itself to every DX9-DX11 game, which works in most cases, even if a game is not directly supported. Unless there is a profile for a game there is no guarantee though, since some games need special treatment.

If an usupported game doesn’t hook with the auto detection, you can try to create a vorpX desktop shortcut (right click the vorpX tray icon, select “Create Desktop Shortcut”). There is still no guarantee for unsupported games, but the chances are higher this way for games that aren’t detected otherwise.

    Hope this helps.

Good to know :-). It’s really tricky to get these values right in VR – much easier with a screen surface as reference ;-). In VR it’s much more about proportions feeling right.

I think Skyrim really shines with Vorpx btw. The EdgePeak is essential to play the game, with all of Skyrim’s different menues and text integrations into the hud/screen. Only gripe is shadow – strange thing is that even without HelixMod since patch 1.6 for Skyrim shadows work in stereo 3d. Wonder what’s causing the the complications for VR with Oculus (all other solutions like Vireio have that same problem). Thought it was related to the roll functionality, but I guess it roots deeper…

Yes, Geometry 3D Eye Separation is clearly too high in Skyrim (and various other games) per default. Something around 0.4-0.5 sounds perfectly reasonable. A last minute bug that somehow slipped in… The default values will be corrected with the next update.

    Hi youngneil,

You can’t set values higher than their max values that are shown in the menus due to safety checks that are done when values are imported.

Under normal circumstances you shouldn’t touch the focal offset value unless you know 100% what you are doing :) . That’s why it’s an advanced setting that doesn’t show up normally. The technical term for this value is convergence, and it is pre-configured in a way that is correct for use in an HMD. Changing it might improve the GUI in Skyrim, but the cost for this is high: Stereo 3D is not displayed like it is supposed to be this way.

I’ll check whether it’s possible to exclude the Skyrim GUI from the 3D-calculations.

    Hope that helps.

I would welcome it very much if the focal point could be pushed even more towards the user than the 1.00 (100) possible right now in the del settings menu. E.g. in Skyrim this would help with keeping NPC dialogue options from colliding with the game world while at the same time having a good eye separation.

Or is there already a possibility to enlarge this value by e.g. changing a certain ini file or some such?

Hi there I was trying to use the vorpx with Black Mesa Source and Deus Ex Human Revolution ( STEAM )

and I was not able to play at all. It start black and the game freeze. but Deus Ex just Freeze about 2 seconds after the launch. I don’t know what to do now.

I only have games from Steam.

I first tried to make the desktop shortcut and it didn’t work.
Then I tried to re-install the game and it didn’t work too.
I disabled my Antivirus software and it didn’t work.

I am not using any kind of Trainer or Hacks.
I am not using any kind of recording Software or plugin such as Google Hangout.

    Please I need help!

here is my System Spec just in case

    Windows 8 Premium x64
    Intel i5-3330 3.00GHz
    Geforce GTX 650 ti
    8GB DDR3

    Additional information
All my games on Steam are on my second Partition of my Hard Drive (D:). But Vorpx is on my First Partition(C:). I don’t know if it does anything.

I can not move my games to C: because it is lacking space.

I’m having the exact same problem. Every since I installed Vorpx, Steam games that are expected to hook with Vorpx crash at the launcher or barely into the game.
    This includes:
    Bioshock Infinite
    Skyrim
    Portal 2

Other steam games work fine (i.e. XCOM, Dawn of War 2 – anything not advertised as compatible with Vorpx). I’ve completely uninstalled Vorpx and I still get the crashing. Anyone have any ideas?

starts level headtracking works and 3d works crashes about 20 – 30 secs after that with no error.

    Hi guys,

Could someone with the 30secs. crash monitor the CPU/GPU memory consumption before the crash happens? Especially GPU memory would be of interest.

For the CPU the taskmanger is enough. For graphics cards a tool is needed. nVidia users can use the “Nvidia Inspector” which has a nice graphical monitoring with memory monitoring. For ATI/AMD GPU-Z might be worth a try.

the 30 second crash is the same as that crash. If i dont push buttons to jump through the intros it crashes on AMD logo … if i push buttons and skip intros I can play for about 2 seconds before it crashes… it’s the same glitch… we should just call it the 30 second glitch in terms of trying to solve it.

anyone know if the vorpx update addresses it?
