I just stumbled upon this. Now i’m curious and a bit confused.
1) I though that VorpX supports the old Unreal Engine games if you use a DX9 or DX10 renderer, no?
2) I asked in this forum about Undying, but i never got an answer. Now i saw the screenshot. So, i can play Undying & Unreal Gold on VorpX (w- DGVoodoo2)?. Is it 3D?
I agree that VorpX is what saves VR for me, for the time being. Almost none of the current native VR games is interesting to me. I’m not interested in demos, wave shooters and short experiences. I want long story driven games, expansive RPGs with exploration, things like Mass Effect, The Witcher, Skyrim, Half-Life (2), Unreal etc etc. We’ll have to wait for those for sure, but at least 2019 shows that VR is gaining speed now.
First off, see if you can get any other game to hook so we can rule out anti virus blocking it. Good idea to turn off any recording or monitoring apps like fraps or afterburner etc.
I’ve read that directx 12 is possible in this game, so make sure you’re not running 12 by accident. vorpX hooks to dx11.
The profiles you tried should have at least hooked (even if not 3d) if your vorpX is working correctly, so it’s likely not a profile issue.
There are still a few more official Unreal 4 profiles you can try though: Conarium, Conan Exiles, Vampyr, Edith Finch, and Abzu.
Hi, I would say do better research. Borderlands 2 is Unreal 3
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games
Better try Batman Arkam Asylum it also matches the year.
Sorry didnt mean Batman Arkam Asylum this was released way before, confused it with the Ps4 launch.
Batman Arkam City its a official profile you should give a shot, thing is official profiles never been labeled what they support (G3d,Z3d ?)
Heres some games still not in the profiles and need treatment
Flashback 3.39 Unreal 3 engine
Binary Domain 3.99 criware engine ( i found a G3d profile but the shaders .. 8()
Mashed 0.49 !!!
Strider 4.49 Have a good looking Z3D profile but only G3d would be the real deal
Bionic Commando 1.99 ( i do not own)
Bionic Commando Rearmed 1.79 (dunno if i ever play this again but created a G3d profile ;) load it up later
If you are into to jump & run then I recommend Castle of Illusion 3.25 , polished gameplay in 3d
phew have 5 euro left :) shopping spree almost over,
so please give me something G3dish awesome for under 5 euro
I would suggest you trying different Unreal 3 profiles. Turn OFF DirectVR if you choose a profile with DirecVR to see if that helps against the “pumping”. If anythings fails try different profiles, preferably Unreal 3, from my profiles in the cloud. Many of them are “modified engines” so there is always a last chance of finding something suitable here. Dont bother with set AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True , thats for 3D Vision only.
Note: Some 3D Vision Fixed (at least Shader-Fixes) dlls do in fact work with VorpX, when trying a 3D Vision Fix, ignore the VorpX dll warning and try different profiles . Do only use such fixes on an experimental base with unsupported games because you will loose support for the official ones this way.
Hi guys, its Steam sale and I invested 3 bucks with the intention to run it with Vorpx. It was easy to find a profile working in G3d , one can crank up the resolution in the Flashbackgame.ini as well, the big problem is, ingame when the camera comes to rest it switches into some kind of 2d mode, if you move again enough it switches back into 3d, this comes along with a very annoying pumping of the screen. I searched the net and stumbled into the 3d vision community and they got it working perfect for them it seems ,only thing to do : set AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True
in the flashbackgame.ini , well I didnt found that option in my ini file :(
mayby someone knows something ?
Its a lesser known game based on Unreal 3 engine, runs flawless, 3d strength to the max. If you see it on sale its worth a buy if you into side scrolling arcade heli action, looks nice & polished, no glitches, tested on 2160p.
I don’t have LoF2 yet, still waiting for a sale. But from what I’ve read it uses Unreal 4 engine now instead of Unity (same as their other game Observer) so a Unreal Engine 4 based profile would probably work.
I’d first try one of the Observer profiles from the cloud, then if that didn’t work I’d copy profiles of Conarium, Hellblade, and Edith Finch.
I’ve found that UE4 games translate pretty well, with the only real bother being dynamic shadows. Sometimes turning them to Low or Off in game is good enough. Or you can enable the shader authoring tool in expert settings to cycle through them in game, activate those layers, and assign them to Do Not Render.
Then just find an image zoom that works best for a comfortable field of view and you should be good to play. Let us know how it goes.
It’s possible Empire and Napoleon are dx9, I can’t remember. If the New games are dx11 (?) that could explain why they wouldn’t hook at all.
If you haven’t already, it might be worth trying the “Unity 5 Base Profile” which I believe hooks dx11. Pretty sure I used a unity variant for Napoleon.
After that you could try profiles from other common engines to try your luck. Unreal 4, Cryengine 4, maybe even Assassins Creed Unity and Life is Strange: Before the Storm (these have surprised me a few times). Alien Isolation is another I would try, as it is listed as being loosely based off the same Warscape engine.
I probably tried some 15+ profiles before I got Napoleon working. You don’t always get lucky, but I’ve been surprised how often you can get at least Z3D to work.
Thanks @LukeRoss !
That must also be the reason why VorpX has problems, usually Unreal games work (if needed without 3D).
Idiot me, hahaha
can’t get Unreal 4 game “Zed” to work. Tried a few Unreal 4 profiles (Abzû, What remains of Edit Finch) but even without a specific profile;
the game loads and works fine, the vorpx logo is on my screen, on the screen it zooms in and out when i move my glasses so everything seems to work fine. But in my glasses i just see a loading screen/logo from the game. Any tips would be welcome.
I got this to run in Administrator mode using an Unreal 3 Black profile. I excluded all of the processes except the main one and then it fired right up. I run it in third person VR with image zoom so that I can see the whole screen. I have lots of settings left to tinker with(hud etc.) and the interface is a mess. I’ve moved most of it out of the way. But running easy dungeons or doing open world exploration is fantastic!
someone got it working in 3d ?
i tried some unreal 4 profiles but 3d didnt work :(
would be nice to get some official profile with the new update this friday !
Forgot to mention: as usual no promises. Unreal Engine 4 usually works quite well, but one never knows.
