You must use unreal engine 5 profile.

Forever Skies is a new Unreal 4 game. I have tried various unreal profiles of other games with no success (it hooked depending on the settings but without 3D-effects). Finally I got it running with the:

    Medieval Dynasty (G3D) cloud profile

As with many other unreal games you need to link the profile to the Shipping.exe hidden deeper in the game folder (ForeverSkies-Win64-Shipping.exe). Do not link it to the standard ForeverSkies.exe

    …Steam\steamapps\common\Forever Skies\ProjectZeppelin\Binaries\Win64\ForeverSkies-Win64-Shipping.exe”

Do not forget to set the game to DirectX11.

All 3D modes work. As usual Geometric 3D is the best but some (not often used) special textures have wrong weird reflections effects. (Perhaps that could be fixed with the global illumination treatment settings in vorpx.)

The immersive VR mode comes with a mismatching mouse pointer. It seems optimized for full VR-mode-use and is a bit off in the immersive mode. Annoying but after a while you figure and learn where to click.

    Have fun

Just tried it and it did not attach, NONE of the profiles. Even with the HORIZON: ZERO DAWN (DX12) profile it did not work.

So i set the game to DX11 and just tried the ARKHAM CITY profile (Unreal Engine 4) with this and it´s working now!

there are some good profiles on vorpx cloud for making the headset view work with the ingame view panning

but the one i tried (listed as the only one made with most recent vorpx version) although it had G3D in the name didnt have any 3d effect for graphics! even though it was running in G3d mode and has like 1/4 the frame rate of when i play 2d mode normally

so i used an official profile for another unreal engine 4 game (like AC7 is) and it had good 3d and better performance than the cloud AC7 profile
…but then it didnt have any of the control/view customizations

i wanted to see if i could copy and paste sections from both so i tried to open the vorpx profiles in text mode but it was unreadable

then i tried to use the cloud AC7 profile as a G3D base and tweak the settings with CTRL-End…and the settings were all the same as in the official UE4 profile, and changing them only made glitches.

is there a way to combine two different profiles? or a way to switch the AC7 profile graphics settings to whatever is in the UE4 game’s profile?

Haha, creepy fun looking. When I saw it was free on steam I downloaded it, but I haven’t played it yet.

But the file structure is very unique with this game. It runs a launcher with Unity Engine, but switches to Unreal 4 Engine when you select Chapter 1. This explains why vorpX closes when you select the chapter, as a totally different exe boots up that vorpX is not expecting.

Instead you should start the game from the directory folder, not the launcher on steam. Run the Poppy_Playtime-Win64-Shipping.exe from: C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Poppy Playtime\WindowsNoEditor\Poppy_Playtime\Binaries\Win64

If you want any 3D effect, you will need to create or download a profile for this game, that is assigned to Poppy_Playtime-Win64-Shipping.exe. Or if you just want it flat, you can let vorpX auto attach when the game starts.

I see someone has already posted a profile on the cloud you could try, although it claims the 3D effect is very subtle.

    Nice!

I thought about mentioning this, but when I checked mine, it did not require a hook helper there. But I’m glad it made it work for you.

Typically all Unreal 4 games launch with a shipping.exe in that x64 folder you mentioned, but Hogwarts made an exception and named the exes the same.

    Hi,

I’m new to Vorpx. I’ve managed to get it working for Portal 2, which is great.

I’m using a Pico 4 with virtual desktop and a windows 11 laptop.

Now I’m trying to get Vorpx to hook Hogwarts Legacy.

I’ve downloaded the beta, but I can’t seem to get the game to hook. I’ve tried the 3x cloud profiles available for the game. I’ve also tried a couple that are unreal engine 4/dx12 only too. I’ve been setting the file as the HogwartsLegacy.exe in the win64 subfolder of the installation directory. Is that the right one? Or should it be the steamlink desktop one?

I’ve tried installing hook helpers and alternative hooking and that still doesn’t work.

The logs seem to say there’s an error setting fov as there’s no hmd. But even if I try to pre-launch SteamVR the process still fails.

I’ve been through the trouble shooting and don’t appear to have any conflicting programs running.

I read in a different post something about letting the shaders load before attaching vorpx but I’m not sure how to do that?

And am I missing a process step here? Should I be loading up the Vorpx desktop monitor and launching the game via that rather than via virtual desktop?

    Any ideas?
