AaronclsParticipant
Hey gang,
On my end looks like the G3D feature was lost after latest Vorpx update.Only getting Z3D which works very well, but for G3D I am only getting some horizontal moving lines.
Anyone having this issue as well? If so, are there any methods to restore the G3D functionality?
AaronclsParticipantHey Ralf, team.
Humbly requesting Final Fantasy 14 official support.
You may already be aware, but FF14 is gaining a substantial amount of hype and users. To the point that SE is taking measures to increase capacity and performance on their systems.I was stunned to see the crazy amount of players in one of the starting areas. I had played this back on Realm Reborn release and it was never this packed. The game is extremely popular now, it seems.
Now, we have a great profile from Dellrifter22 (thank you, man!) and it has great depth. However there are some small issues with shadows. Dell recommends turning off shadows on Vorpx and that actually works properly. However by turning that off we also lose some of the nice dynamic illumination effects that really make the game pop.
In short, if we could iron out those small issues I think the profile would be perfection. I dont think the shadows matter that much, but the light effects can really make the game look nice.
Give the rising popularity of this title, I think an official profile would be a great addition to Vorpx repertoire!
AaronclsParticipantWould be really nice, yep
AaronclsParticipantYep, Game Pass is a hit or miss. Mostly miss.
Just tried the Plague Tale profile and while it indeed hooked, it still didn’t work right.AaronclsParticipantHey thank you so much for getting these steps down, I was able to replicate them and got it to work. G3D is very decent, just make sure to tweak the settings as Dellrifter says.
On the dxgi.dll file hook, this is what I did:
– Downloaded MGS Ground Zeroes, booted it, closed it.
– added the MGS executable to another profile (MGS GZ does not have a profile)
– Launched MGS game again with Vorpx on.
– Vorpx failed to hook, waited for the pop up with suggested actions.
– Selected “Install hook helper” or something like that.
– Navigated to the MGS GZ directory and copied the dxgi.dll file to the FF14 executable folder.
– Notice that the launcher directory is NOT the correct folder, find where the actual game .exe is. Put it there.
– Added FF14 launcher to the “Excluded programs” on Vorpx dashboard.
– Launched FF14, boom. G3D, baby!AaronclsParticipantFollowing up, looks like this profile (or any?) does not work on the Xbox Pass copy of Plague.
One channel is completely blacked out for some reason.
Not a big deal tho, gonna snatch a Steam copy as soon as it is discounted and try it out.AaronclsParticipantThanks, fellas. Appreciate the responses and your hard work.
AaronclsParticipantGonna check it out. Thanks, man!
AaronclsParticipantThanks for the tip.
I tried getting TOW to perform smoothly but it proved very difficult.
Didn’t want to bring the resolution too low (~2880×1600) and the performance was a bit janky with most settings lowered. I guess I could try again with further enigne.ini config stuff and see if I can get it right.Do you have performance issues at all? Would you mind sharing your main vorpx and game settings?
AaronclsParticipanthaha nice one
AaronclsParticipantoooh Division 1 has a profile?
No online / ban issues? Will check it out soon.
AaronclsParticipantThere is a cloud profile for it, the shadows are a bit of a problem as they do not converge well, I think.
But it is worth the try at least. If you decide to try it out, please report back you settings / configs.
AaronclsParticipantWorks ok for me, but i did not chose to play it full VR.
AaronclsParticipantYeah, as Jeesssy said it doesn’t work.
Would be really cool to play this game on 3D for sure.AaronclsParticipantI agree that G3D is usually the best rendition but do not underestimate a proper Z3D implementation!
As everyone else, since my early 3D days using Tridef for flatscreens I would always prefer G3D and get a bit bummed out if it didn’t work well or at all.
However, I have noticed that a few z3D (Z-normal mostly) profiles actually look pretty damn good! And not only that, the performance gains, the correct shadow alignment and far-near controls makes Z3D a worthy contender.
The only issue that could be a deal breaker is the ghosting or outlined blur for near plane objects. However this can mitigated but scaling down the main 3D slider.
In any case, here is my best performance G3D so far:
– og Bioshock 1
– Black Mesa
– Half-Life 2
– Resident Evil 6 (cloud)
– Resident Evil 7
– Resident Evil Revelations
– Dark Souls 2 SotfS
– Bayonetta
– May Payne 3
– Kingdoms of Amalur
– TESIV Oblivion
– Splinter Cell 3 Chaos Theory
– Far Cry 1
– Bulletstorm Full Clip
– F.E.A.R. 1
– Condemned -
