Facebook VR is good for Facebook, that’s it. But we need Vorpx more than we did before. A patreon isn’t a bad idea, but it would definitely mean he would have to deal with people’s expectations a lot more. If he can release on steam, I think that would be a good idea.

It’s still worth it, there are hundreds of thousands of Index’s and Vive’s, and WMR may add it eventually. As for whether you could get it to do RTX, the whole point of this is that you have to render a fraction of the frames. If you can hit 24fps with at least 90% SS, you’re in.

Have you tried running it through Gmod?

It’s a great game but it focused way more on the graphics and story telling, and less on foundational gameplay. Like in the sense that it doesn’t really innovate besides the gloves, and physics are in the game but rarely used. I feel like it doesn’t use that much of what makes VR different from other games, it’s just a very good game with a big budget and lots of immersion. Not a terrible problem to have, but I was hoping Valve would use their money to solve problems in VR so other people could learn lessons from it. Like how Boneworks made a game that experimented a ton so other people could lift aspects they liked. Like if I was Ubisoft and I’m considering making an Assassin’s Creed game in VR, I would be less convinced by Alyx than by that new indie game where you parkour and stab people, Stride. I hope the mods can push things forward a bit but I’m not sure how much modders have to work with.

VorpX needs to work with Natural Locomotion too. These forms of adaptive locomotion would go a long way to making VorpX a more fluid unmissable experience.

I tried it again from scratch and I could turn on z normal and z adaptive but neither had any 3D effect, and it wouldn’t let me do G3D. On the regular version, not xbox game pass.

Look just 2 post below this one… You can use the conarium profile in order to play The outer worlds in g3d.
Don’t forget to adjust FOV in the game parameters.

I use the search bar and I can’t find an original post. I tried this and Vorpx lets me do everything but turn on any form of 3D reconstruction. I try and click the left or right buttons in the vorpx ui and nothing happens, it won’t let me change to Z adaptive or G3D, anything.

Coincidentally I’ve been working on a profile for this recently. It’s nearly done, I just need to get around to writing it up. Works quite well in 3rd person fullVR and the first person driving mod. I’ll see if I can have it ready sometime this coming weekend.

In the meantime, there is an older profile already on the cloud you can check out, though it may still have a few shader issues.

That sounds amazing! Thanks, I’m subscribing to this thread if you could reply when it’s up.

Here’s hoping someone buys the IP and makes a sequel in VR.

Just want to point to this gerne list with 1st person games that have a G3D profile, many are not officially supported but work in Full VR with Headtracking. http://rjkole.com/gamestuff/engines/genre.php?sel=genre

Great list! I noticed What Remains of Edith Finch is marked as unknown. That’s the game that inspired my post. I was so disappointed to learn that it does not work well at all in Full VR mode. I assume because the FOV is fixed. But if I’m wrong and someone has figured out how to make it work, please let the rest of us know, because it is an absolutely stunning game.

How would someone get Civ V to work? It’s in this list.

I have just fixed some games that may meet your genre. May be you want to have a look here. Some games like the Cities and Cities XL series that sadly refuse to work can be viewed on this page.

Cities XL is a mess so nothing lost there. I wanted to try tropico 3 but it won’t run on windows 10 (a shame since I love Tropico and the new one is suppose to have some first person mode to tour your island when it comes out). But I’ll try to run through the list of other ones.

Any city builder, civ style game, or large scale tactical command game (like Ruse). I would love to be able to play a city builder in VR or play civ like the Civilization is on the floor or my desk level, but any immersive 3D VR for this kind of game would be awesome!
