Till the simple Questions are aside, I have News.

I got VorpX working with my 3D Vision Hardware

It works in combination with the 3D Fix Manager Tool.
With this Tool my Display goes in 3D Vision Mode with VorpX on Top.

    But…

    It´s like how I wrote in 2020.
It only works in the anaglyph mode but then the colors are wrong.

Please: I need an Option to deactivate the red/cyan color filter respectively a mode without those filters.

    Then it would work perfekt.

    @Ralf
Sorry, my English is not so good. I work with the Translator. Which config app do you mean? Where can I find the general page?

    Hi Lewy,
please do not take it personally but most of your questions are Newbie LvL. 1 and don´t belong to this Thread.

Please make you comfortabel with the vorpX menu.
Most of your questions will be answered by itself but I will help you this time:

Where can I find the general page? –> First Option Page in the vorpx menu
how should I know which games support (G3D) –> go to Cloud Profiles in vorpx, type in your game and look at the description

So it´s all in the basic menu…

Forget the tip with the zip backups – it´s an advanced tip. lern first how to use the basic :)

    Nevermind.
    Found it:
    https://fsnebula.org/mod/MVPS/3.6.12

    It´s awesome with VorpX!

OK, figured it now – it runs in 3D on FSO 3.6.12. Here is how to make it work (well at least on my setup :-)) in case someone else will want to give it a try:

    – get Freespace 2 (mine comes from GoG)
    – get wxLauncher for the SCO
    – get FSO 3.6.12 INF SSE2
    – get MediaVPs 3.6.12
    – use Quake III: Arena profile as suggested by Zarkov
    – vorpX needs to hook on fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2.exe

Install via wxLauncher and you are ready to go!

The FSO 3.7.4 hooks but does not give a 3D effect (at least not for me). The FSO 3.6.12 works fine.

Sorry to grab that old thread out but the files for 3.6.12 aren´t all online anymore…
Someone have this still on their disk?

    Ah, it´s not the same.
The lighting etc. is not like the original.

Yes I agree, the atmosphere of the original is much better, but the remastered version should be supported in my opinion for its modernity/compatibility’s sake, the old one isn’t even available anymore. I’d been playing the original in VR using the last version that supported the native VR launch parameter trick – 20170929 (15301), but there are quite a few graphical glitches.

It’s no doubt that System Redux’s graphical textures are better, but yes the lighting is not as good. I believe Ralf had already tried to support the original Observer fully but to no avail. Perhaps something may be possible in the future for System Redux.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I should have quoted the post.
My reply was for this post:

Doom64 is actually playable in VR through a modified GZDoom with special .WAD files

The Doom64 mod running in GZDoom is not the same as the original steam version in terms of lightning, textures and a few other things.

I would like to play the steam remaster instead the mod.

The only thing thats missing for NV 3D Vision is an option for normal colors instead red/cyan anaglyph and turning the emitter (for the shutterglasses) on.

Is it possible to turn the emitter on without starting 3D Vision?

I have a Asus 3D Monitor with built in 3D Vision emitter.
If I can do any tests or help to progress this Feature – just say it.

No one knows about this? :(

Glad you like it. There are a few quirks left with the Generic 3D Display mode that I’ll iron out for the next release, namely the camera height modifier not working as intended and HUD-depth doing nothing although available for a profile.

    Happy New Year!

…and what do you think about my request? :)

    – Journey (this alone could become a selling point for vorpx)

    – Freespace 2 (there a many mods out there and a active fanbase, even headtracking support)

    – Sega Rally Revo (best Arcade Racer)

    – Super Luckys Tale (a shame the second Game has no VR Support, many gamers were disappointed)

    – Sega Model 2 Emulator – http://nebula.emulatronia.com
    (that would be sooo awesome)

    – Everything (thats the name of a game, no joke)

    – Innerspace (Since 3 Years Fans begging for a VR Support but the Dev´s do nothing – game would be perfect for VR)

    – A Hat in Time (why not another 3D Platformer? – a good genre for VR)

There will be a new device type named ‘Generic 3D TV/Monitor’ in the next vorpX with normal side by side stereo output. However, this will not be officially supported. vorpX is built for VR, all profiles are made with VR in mind, and some of them will only work as intended in VR. There are no plans to change this focus on VR.

So you will be able use vorpX with your 3D TV without workarounds, but you are basically on your own when you do so. No official support of any kind will be provided for this mode.

Saw that in the newest Version :)

One request: Since vorpx is so far – the only thing thats missing for NV 3D Vision is an option for normal colors instead red/cyan anaglyph and turning the emitter (for the shutterglasses) on.

There are Games that only work with vorpx. I like to try Star Citizen on my 3D Monitor (my PC is too weak to run SC in VR).

It would be a really cool feature.

Probably that thing with the colors should be no big deal.
But I don´t know how to turn the Emittor on, without running the 3D Vision Driver.
There was once an Emulator for that, but it doesn´t work anymore…
