ElectryicParticipant
When you start the game it gives you the option for the WinXP version… that re-enabled everything in game and works well.
ElectryicParticipantGot it shortly thereafter, thanks
ElectryicParticipantSeems pretty obvious that the last thing they want is to unleash everyone’s existing game libraries into VR, as that won’t make them any money.
They want us to think that a game has to be made especially for VR, even though its all been done before w/ 3D vision. The last thing they want though is for us to have 100’s of games to dive into w/ VR. They apparently want us to think that the only games for VR will be the ones they are wanting to sell us for $60 each like its a PS4 or something.
ElectryicParticipantIf this is happening with the DX11 version of the game, you might have to try a few (or many) times, or better switch to DX9. In DX11 there is a long outstanding issue with frequent startup crashes in FC3 and some other Ubisoft games.
This will finally be fixed in the next vorpX release, but for now trying often or switching to DX9 is what you can do.
Thanks, the first thing I did was switch to DX9. For future reference is DX9 always going to be more stable, or are their cases where DX11 is better for vorpX?

I renamed Unreal Tournament to the borderlands presequel .exe but although it started I am still not getting the option to turn on 3D. I’m not so worried about head tracking would just like the option for 3D if possible.
Let me guess your using the steam version. Mr. DoucheBag iankemp didn’t tell anyone up front that all these games he’s talking about are the dvd versions and do not run through steam.
Actually my copy of UT2007 is one of the last games I bought on disc. Its not on Steam. It starts up in vorpX (using pre-sequel rename) but there is still no option for 3D. Any other advice would be appreciated!

ElectryicParticipantBlood Dragon still crashes on start using DX11 version. This is listed as fully compatible…. and I am not using Steam version. Just wondering if this is something on the radar since it is listed as fully compatible.
ElectryicParticipantDid you check in game resolution? I am noticing even though VorpX is set to run in 1920/1080 that sometimes the game resolution will be that of the desktop. Also you often can’t tell, as its being displayed on the Rift etc, but still in the background, your card is cranking out 1440P or whatever your desktop is.
ElectryicParticipantThanks for the quick reply! Sadly, it looks like it will need a profile. The game appeared to have hooked in once I excluded the launcher but was not stereoscopic, did not respond to me pressing del, but did move the mouse with head tracking. It also will not launch while the watcher is running now. I’ll keep trying to see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestions!
Can you reiterate how you got it to hook in? I tried excepting all three launcher exe’s (not sure which one is the right one) and it still won’t work. I am fine w/o 3D I would just like to play this game in the theater.
ElectryicParticipantThis is on the radar, but with low priority. There actually already was a post fx base framework in place for exactly this purpose before it had to be thrown away when switching to direct mode rendering. Will be re-implemeted for the new rendering pipeline if/when there is enough time.
Just wanted to chime in this is really important to me. Every game I play I adjust the contrast etc. Great job on everything else, well worth the money spent. I hope we get more functionality with more titles!
ElectryicParticipantThank you! Got it
