gapper4Participant
Are you using a Windows Mixed Reality Headset?
No, an Oculus Rift. Everything was perfect last evening. This happened just after VorpX updated. To elaborate a bit, the mouse pointer in the title screen works. The problem is it doesn’t recognize mouse clicks.
gapper4ParticipantHi guys,
NMS seems to kick off fine with VorpX (using a CV1) but when I press “delete” to bring up the settings, the mouse button stays stuck in the middle. If I pause the game, I can move the circle mouse pointer around, but the regular pointer in the VorpX menu remains stuck in the middle and I can’t set it to geometry mode (by default, the 3D Reconstruction is “off”). Any ideas/hints ?
Thanks,
Forgot to say, I tried the arrow keys, and the up/down ones work fine, but the right/left ones don’t work at all. I can select 3D Mode, but it’s off by default and I can’t make it geometry.
gapper4Participantdo you use Raptr or anything els which tracks your game time?
if not you might just need to go in to steam goto settings>in-game and untick enable the steam overlay while in-game
Thanks ! Got it to work. Unfortunately, the 3D effect is non-existent. It’s playable, kinda, but I didn’t find it very compelling. It’s like looking at a flat 360 screen around you. Tried both available modes (no G3D as far as I can tell).
gapper4Participantokay I got it working at last!
I found Raptr overlay and the steam overlay was fucking it up.. once removed it seem to work fine
That’s awesome ! except…what do you do exactly ? I’m not that technically savvy, so what do I have to remove ?
gapper4Participanthello,
i am running windows 7 x64 with oculus runtime 0.5.0.1
hd radeon R9 270x
16 gigs ram
amd 6100 6 core processor 3.3 GHzi am trying to run space engineers and i know my oculus works, the test worked just fine and i ran a few games with it just fine. i tried the troubleshooting steps as well as advice from the forums, but when i run it this is what happens
1. the screen flickers back and forth on my oculus and monitor then it pauses
2. the game displays on my oculus with the message “vorpx init failed. vorpx will not start correctly, check the cables.. etc etc”
3 i press “ok” then the game works on the oculus as far as the vorpx message letting me know about the FOV and the shortcuts work as well, i can press the middle mouse button to show the full screen for menu use but the headtracking does not work.i am not sure what to do, i have tried all different ways from the first setting my oculus to main display, to setting it as the secondary and changing the setting in vorpx config, unplugging and plugging everything back in, different ports, restarted multiple times, reinstalled, and still get the same thing no matter what i do. any help would be great
Bad news my friend. I was very much looking forward to 0.9 with DK2 runtime 0.7 for SE but no joy. It crashes on start-up…
gapper4ParticipantThanks for this !
gapper4ParticipantHi,
X Terran Conflict: Albion Prelude is working fine (without head tracking – nmaybe you can fix this? for me. But can you PLEASE also support the game with 3D? And the same later for x-rebirth? Then a dream would come true for me.
Thanks! Really appreciate your hard work!Olipilot
I second this. PLEASE, PLEASE support the X games ! :)
gapper4ParticipantI tried the Steam version of X3 Terran Conflict and vorpX doesn’t seem to work. X3 either starts normally, or gets stuck when it starts loading (before the launcher appears).
gapper4ParticipantActually, now that I’ve played a bit with the settings in Skyrim, the 3D effect is very good (although there are some weird shadow overlaps, or lag, that I don’t get on my monitor). Mass Effect 2, however, remains quite flat.
gapper4ParticipantNot to be argumentative, but the worlds in both Skyrim and Mass Effect 2 seems pretty flat, a bit like overlapping cardboard cut-outs. I don’t get a sense of mass when I look at objects. If my reference is the real world, I’d also expect to see cues for depth, which doesn’t appear to be the case here.
Again, vorpX makes a lot of games actually playable in VR and for that I’m grateful, but the 3D effect seems to have been dialled back so much that it’s hardly there.
gapper4ParticipantHeadtracking worked for me in Skyrim and Lost Planet 3 (yup, works fine) but not in Dragon Age Origins — although on the settings panel it showed the option as “on”.
gapper4ParticipantOk, figured it out. I had for vorpX with PayPal, registered to one of my emails addresses, and specified another email address for the actual software registration. This seems to have created a conflict. When I tried to register from the second email, everything worked fine. Sorry for the panic :(
gapper4ParticipantRegistration worked fine for me, all I did was.
1. Enter full name including email address. Copy paste from the email.
2. Enter key. Copy paste from the mail.Click register and I was done.
This is what I did too, many times, including, as I said, with firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials turned off. Still no joy.
gapper4ParticipantCannot activate also. I have my firewall turned completely off and use no antivirus. What gives ?
