ParticipantIf you are patient, there are some upcoming VR headsets that I am planning to upgrade to coming from a Valve Index.
You have the Pimax Crystal or Pimax 12K that comes out later this year.
I am looking forward to a very light headset, especially to use for VR gamepad experiences like vorpX, called Bigscreen Beyond.
There is also the upcoming Meta Quest 3, if you are into mobile VR gaming plus being able to tether to a PC so you can use vorpX.
If you cannot wait a few months, then I would recommend buying the Valve Index + Knuckles Controllers. I am, very pleased with it and for you to come from the HTC Vive would be a big upgrade, but since you already have the basestations, I would recommend you to consider upgrading to the Bigscreen Beyond headset.

ParticipantNow this is entertainment. Thank you for the rollercoaster of a read.
On a serious note. I have wanted to play some games without 3D in VorpX just because of the great performance and ambient lighting. Do you mean it’s possible to get games to show up in vr without hooking into them? (I’m not talking about VorpX desktop viewer)
Does the game require a profile and then you just disable the 3D mode? If not, how do you do it? I would love to play some games in VorpX without hooking into them.

ParticipantI love how SONY has started to embrace the PC community, and truth be told, the console and PC nowadays are more or less the same thing. Bringing the games over is probably more of a financial decision than anything else, but as long as they keep on doing it I’ll be happy.

ParticipantI am looking forward to the remaster my self. It’s been years since I last played through them, and to now be able to play it all again is going to be epic.
I know that there are mods and textures to fix the old games, but after seeing this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJa_sY0f8jM (Mass Effect Legendary Trailer vs Originals, Side By Side Comparison) I think that waiting a few more months and comparing them will be worth it.

ParticipantHave you tried a different desktop resolution? I couldn’t get it to work with 4k, but with 1080p and 1440p it works fine. Remember, the first time it will crash, but if you keep trying it will eventually hook.

Participantplease i want to play with vorpx in death stranding, v.1.06 won’t hook, i wait
If you are really impatient then you can try a copy of the horizon zero dawn profile and a renamed copy of the death stranding ds.exe

ParticipantI love using helixvision for the vulkan support, but yeah, if I can use either or then I prefer VorpX. They complement each other and that’s the way the creator of helixvision wants it to be.
Ice
ParticipantStrangely enough, if I make a copy of the ds.exe and rename it, then add it to a copy of the horizon zero dawn profile it works, but only after usually two tries and only with certain resolutions. 4k never works for me, while 1080p and 1440p hooks after two consecutive tries. Any ideas why this seem to work?
Ice
ParticipantOkay, after a bit more testing I noticed that it hooks great with the Horizon Zero Dawn profile. It leads to my conclusion that there is something wrong with this profile.
Now is there a big difference between the two profiles in 3d effect and image quality or are they practically the same?
I hope this information helps.
Ice
ParticipantI see now that on the 17th of December they removed Denuvo from the exe, could that be the reason for it not to hook anymore?
Ice
ParticipantCan someone please check if Death Stranding on Steam version 1.06 hooks for them? I can’t get it to hook, it crashes on launch, so if someone that got it working before could check if it happens to them too would be nice.
I’d appreciate it.
