    Ralf,

I really appreciate this. I think arma 3 works the best with VR, opentrack & vorpx. Its like a game that was really meant for VR.

I agree that the performance wont be as good, however with arma 3 now running 64 bit the optimisation has improved alot. My friend has told me he now can run it at around 100fps on 64 bit with a 7700k oc to 4.5ghz. So i am sure it will be dooable, even if we have to lower some graphical settings.

Hey thanks for the replies. I haven’t tried the 64 bit version yet, I’ll look into that.

This is what crashes, from the rpt:
    Version 1.66.139586
    Fault time: 2017/02/05 04:48:49
    Fault address: 60F93671 01:006A2671 C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nvami.inf_amd64_01b64dec419235d3\nvwgf2um.dll
    file: AliveFeb2017clean (__CUR_MP)
    world: Altis
    Prev. code bytes: 8B EC 51 53 8B 5A 0C 33 D2 56 57 8B 7D 08 8B C7
    Fault code bytes: 0F B7 73 22 F7 F6 8B 43 18 89 4D FC 6A 00 8D 0C

It seems to be a dll related to nvida drivers. This only happens when running vorpx. It doesn’t happen with just running arma 3 normally. It also happens when I don’t have any mods running.

Do you have an AMD card you can test to see if it runs ok?

I believe it seems to work using the 64 bit dev build of arma 3. You might want to try this. I have tried it briefly and it seems to run okay.

The framerate is also higher and less chances of stuttering or screen tear.

If it helps you can set up a custom resolution through amd/nvidia control panel and then activate it ingame.

Its what i did to enable the HMD to display those resolutions.

    Hello,

I tried setting up VR today with vorpx and can confirm that this issue is still there. It has crashed twice on me since trying, approx 15 mins into the game.

I definately suspect a memory leak/memory issue between vorpx and arma 3. Unfortunately i dont think it will be fixed anytime soon.

I may try to lower my ingame settings to see if that will have an effect.

    Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue. It happened when i was using old vorpx around d 0.8 a year ago. Id thought id try it again now seeing as vorpx has been updated a few times.

I have a feeling there is a memory leak issue somewhere causing it to crash, i will try reducing the graphics settings (all are on ultra at the moment) and see if that works.

    Hi Ralf,

I tried going over the recommended 1920×1440 today on aliens CM. I went and increased resolution to 2560×2880.

Needless to say that it did not run as smooth, but i must say it really removed the DK2’s screen door and the game looked like an actual 1080p game run directly on a monitor. Comparing the fact that our headset’s lenses are zoomed in to such an extent, i think this is really amazing.

Adjustment of FOV and tracking is almost minimal, as most of the work has already been done by setting the aspect ratio.

I agree that the game feels a lot smoother by increasing resolution from the desktop rather than using nvidia’s DSR.

It now feels like a native game!!

    Hello BLAs68,

Yes i indeed had this same problem when i tried it with vorpx i believ it was 0.9 about a year ago.

I dont think that we can get this resolved soon as far as i am aware.

There remains the issue with battleye compatibility with freetrack, vorpx and other addon software needed to run VR.

I have to say that the 15 minutes i spent playing arma 3 was actually one of the best VR titles with vorpx.

I am sure that a fix will come eventually, but i think this issue is only limited to us because as far as i am aware the guy who made the arma 3 vorpx tutorial on youtube did not experience this issue.

Sorry i couldnt be of more help.

The status access violation error continued to plague me after using VR, so i had to reinstall the entire game (removing mods etc) for it to work.

You could try to disable all mods and try the 64 bit dev build and let me know outcome?

Well basically all i want is a wikipedia of Vorpx supported games, the recommended settings, known bugs and workarounds and generally just stuff so i can click on and plug and play.

Everyone basically has the same headunit – either HTC vive, CV1, DK2 or GEAR VR (Smartphone). We just need some kind of megathread with the basic stuff so that all the games can at least run plug and play :)

I know its not a solution to all the problems, but a simple recommended settings guide for each game would at least allow me to start a new game and tweak to my liking.

The increase in resolution is this per eye or in total? I know that the DK2 does 960×1080 per eye. Does that mean 1920×1440 per eye? Is this supersampling or is the DK2’s hardware capable of an increased resolution?

I have tried running this under ue.exe and kholat.exe but it does crash on launch. I dont think the developers had oculus in mind when designing their game. Hopefully they will patch it in the future or someone can come up with a fix

    Hi Sean,

Yes i can confirm the same issue.

Unfortunately it looks like its definitely an issue/conflict with arma 3 and the vorpx driver. The game works fine for me without running VORPX.

Hopefully this can be fixed in the 0.9 release, as i bought VORPX specifically for ARMA 3. This game basically runs perfectly with VORPX.

    Hi,

I have an issue when running arma 3 with vorpx.

After around 10-15 mins in-game it will always crash. It also crashes if i exit a map.

    The error is 0xc0000005 STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION.

Any help to resolve this would be appreciated. I really like arma 3 with VR & Vorpx, but at the moment it is unplayable for me.
