lipplogParticipantAre your graphics settings too high? The game is extremely demanding even without VR.
lipplogParticipantActually, we just assumed the problem was not understanding Image Zoom. But as the thread eventually reveals, the problem was the Cheat Engine FOV didn’t work with the Steam version of Edith Finch, which was why tweaking Image Zoom didn’t work very well. Once we figured that out, budwheizzah was able to tweak it to work with steam as well. I didn’t mind being the guinea pig if it means getting a game working.
lipplogParticipantHere are the latest steps to get Edith Finch working in Full VR…

lipplogParticipantMaybe here? : https://www.g2a.com/es-es/dear-esther-steam-key-global-i10000043429002
I don’t like g2a much but it’s one of the few places to get steam keys for unavailable games.
Oh wow. I didn’t see your reply until now. How do I check that it’s the original version and not the 2012 Landmark edition? Either way, thanks for this!
lipplogParticipant@budwheizzah Wow. I’m impressed you found a way to get the steam version to work. I downloaded the profile and it looks beautiful. Many thanks!
Any chance you’d make a similar Full VR profile for GTA San Andreas? I have the same minor issues with that game as I did with Edith Finch. Any chance you’d take that on?
lipplogParticipantThe guide posted by @budwheizzah has the image zoom setting at 0.75. Which eliminates the black bars on the sides, but leaves a small amount on the bottom. I Assume it’s the result of the game being stuck in the 16:9 ratio?
lipplogParticipant@budwheizzah Just wondering how off my profile is. I do see black border on the left, right, and especially the bottom of my vision. Does this exist in your profile? It’s not unplayable, just want to get an idea of the difference between yours and mine. (If I can figure out how to take screen shots, I can post pics).
lipplogParticipantThat would be great.
@budwheizzah Would you be okay with uploading the profile to the vorpx cloud library? As for the head tracking issue, it may be due to my having Logitech mouse software installed. I’ll jusr remove it and use Ralf’s suggested calibration. Thanks Ralf.
lipplogParticipantI also have small issues with other apects of the settings. Which is why I’d love to get a copy of the profile. Is that possible?
lipplogParticipantAnother sign you may have a bad profile is that head tracking sensitivity.
That’s what it sounds like to me too. Is it possible to share your profile for the test of us to import?
lipplogParticipantDownloaded the GOG version and it works! So the issues are all to do with Steam.
Oh, and there were a few errors in the instructions for the settings…
Under game settings you recommend AA set to off, but it only goes down to Low.
Under VorpX ingame settings you recommend Separation strength: 0.55, but there is no Separation strength setting in full VR mode. At least not in my headset. Maybe you meant a different setting?
Under Head Tracking Sensitivity, you recommend 0.48. In my headset, natural head tracking is 1.48.
That’s it. Let me know which setting you meant for Separation Strength. Thanks!
lipplogParticipantDisabled cloud, but the ini still changes. I also tried not launching steam when running the FinchGame win64 exe. After the fatal error crash, Steam and FinvhGame.exe are automatically launched. Makes me think you’re right that the steam version is the problem. I’ll give the GOG version a shot.
lipplogParticipantThis is interesting.
Every time I run the FinchGame -Win64 Shipping.exe and get the Fatal Error crash, it deletes the FullScreenMode=1 line from the GameUserSettings.ini File. I add it again (exactly like your pic above), save, even open it again to confirm it’s still there, then run the exe with the same results.
What could be causing this?
Also, yes, the FinchGame – win64 exe gives a fatal error crash even when VorpX is off.
lipplogParticipantHuh. Now when I launch the FinchGame-Win64-Shipping.exe, I get a Fatal Error crash message. And I think the FinchGame.exe is automatically launching unprompted. What am I doing wrong?
lipplogParticipantGot it. I had to delete the other local profiles assigned to the exe.
