I tried to run Witcher 3 nextgen (version 4.03) with latest Vorpx 23.1.0 beta in DX11 mode, but after installling additional components, script compilation fails as posted above. After removing r4Player.ws file the game launches, but there is no 3D effect in any 3D mode. I think something was changed in the game that brokes compatibility with code in this file (errors with SetAutoApplyOils are common in discussions about many mods that was broken).

Ralf, can you tell which game version should work? Can you look why it is broken and check if it can be fixed?

As you are fixing the cars, please check also the mission “Identity crisis”, where player is going into car’s trunk. The cutscene works fine, but when you need to control the car, the camera is… inside trunk :) This behavior was present before 2.1 update.

    Thanks for your work, Ralf!

The above problems are basically the same thing – after entering any vehicle – car, motor, metro, basilisk – the picture for one eye freezes or turns to grey and the other one works ok. I hope it is possible to fix.

I updated CyberEngineTweaks and generally it works with 2.1 version, but there are 2 new bugs:
    1) When I get into the car, the image freezes.
    2) When I get into new metro, the left eye gets only grey picture, so I see only through right eye and 2D.

    Can anyone confirm this problems?

But now i have a bigger problem related to VR controllers. When I’m in fist fight mode when I move any of thumbsticks fast (to move a character or rotate), the game interprets it also as hit command. Also when I’m in any game menu, it reads fast thumbstick movement as “A” button, so it selects buttons when I’m moving cursor above them. This bug is both in gamepad and mouse/keyboard mapping mode, but when I’m in mouse / keyboard mode it additionally resets mouse location to center of the screen. I’m using Valve Index controllers. Is it something wrong in my settings or it is a bug?

I finally find a solution for this issue. It is specific to Varjo Aero headset. When I disabled “Controller” setting in Workspace tab in Varjo Base the problem was resolved. This setting activates mouse control with the controller in Varjo “virtual desktop”. Theoretically when I launch a game, this desktop turns off, but it seems that there is still some dependence.

I can finally fully enjoy the game, thanks for brilliant mod!

When you launch the game, vorpX should ask about additional components that have to be updated. If not, please make sure that you didn’t accidentally disable profile updates in the config app.

Yes, it asked for update launching first time but it is still in old version.

I goes back to standalone mod. I have bigger issue now in 2.02 version. The HUD scaling don’t work – HUD is displayed wide no matted of settings. It works fine in 2.01 and previous mod version.

I changed from standalone mod to latest Vorpx beta and it tells me that the mod is for version 1.61. I downloaded Cyberpunk 2077 [vorpX] profile. How to update it?

Is it possible to select higher resolution than ultra? For me it is 3272×2212 but my headset have higher resolution vertical.

And also – is it possible to store mod settings while updating? It resets while every new version is installed.

Ralf, thank you for suggestions. I’m targeting 90/90 FPS, any lower value is significantly less pleasant for me (image is not fluent, weapon is “jumping” while turning). I have 4090 and tried many combinations – I cannot beat about 70-75 FPS with RT (not path tracking) even on low resolution or high DLSS. It looks like CPU bottleneck, because P cores are 90-100% used (13900K…), or maybe RT cores bottleneck?
It looks like this game still needs next generation of hardware :)

Is it possible to use Frame Generation? Any tricks? When I enable this option, game crashes. It would be performance holy grail, making possible to play with raytracing and high fps. It’s the only thing that’s missing from perfection.

EDIT: It resets cursor location to the center in both mapping modes but only in equipment menu. And additionally in “controller” mapping, the rectangle cursor changes for a moment to mouse cursor when bug occurs.

Yes, I know, but it would be a great upgrade when you can rotate a character based on controllers orientation. It would replace turning based on stick and it would be possible to play standing and rotate body free. But I don’t know if it is technically possible, it is only my little suggestion :)

Ok, you’re right – it works good with controllers. I played most games with mouse / keyboard – less immersive but better controllable.
So another question – it is possible to add turning based on controller / head direction when moving? More like as in VR games. I very fast loose awareness of my body orientation and direction of movement surprises me…

I have a huge problem with smoothness of the image. When I move my head around, the image is smooth, but when I turn around using mouse or keyboard, the image flickers / stutters, I don know how to call it. It looks like the image is displaced in two different positions at a same time (I can see it even through one eye). For example, when I move sidewise parallel to the wall, I can see every edge doubled, Like two game frames was displayed at same time. It is a very unpleasant feeling.
The problem is regardless the FPS. I can have stable 90 FPS or cut it to 60, and it doesn’t matter. I have 4090, so it is not related with performance. I have latest Vorpx mod, latest Cyberpunk and nvidia drivers.
I doesn’t have similar issues with any other game with Vorpx.
