I am not able to get Vorpx to launch with BF4. If anyone knows which is the correct file path and exe to create a desktop shortcut please post here. Or if you did something special to get it to work.

    Thanks.

There is a guy in my fantasy football league that calls his team the Gatekeeper but he has a picture of the Ringmaster up for his logo.

    Go figure.

It is best played behind the player with the 2k or up and down court angles. The sideviews work too but not as immersive.

I wouldnt go out and buy 2k14 just for the Rift purposes but if you already own it like me it is worth experimenting with.

And by the way i ended up buying the console version too because the players dont seem to carry momentum on the pc version. Console is better in this rare instance.

not sure directx for Outlast. Its just supposed to be really scary so thought it could be fun.

When the driver works for the unsupported games it works really well and then sometimes it doesnt do anything. It seems to work more often than not so that is good. No complaints as I am having fun.

I am sure you will figure out more stuff as we go along just wanted to make sure wasnt missing out on something for the random games in my collection that dont want to convert at the moment.

    Thanks!

Good suggestions. the letterbox 1 really opens the view up and 16:10 proportions well. I tested it on NBA2k14 and the players bodies seemed most proportionate this way.

Smart looks good but seems to focus more on the center and cuts off some of the edges all around.

I cant get it to work on BF3. Sometimes it starts to attempt to load as the vorpx logo appears but then the screen goes blank and comes back as full screen.

    That is great Ralf.

It’s amazing how much you can customize your Oculus experience by swapping out for custom lenses. I’m using some 5 times magnification, double sided lenses and 1600X1200 resolutions and I can see everything including menus and HUD elements.

The ability to adjust the FOV and 3D depth will be essential to allow such customizations to work right I would imagine. I am stoked for the opportunity to tweak everything and see what combinations work the best.

I think the Oculus creators are going to have to get into the software business for this thing to take off. Relying on game makers is a losing proposition. Just look at 3d technology. After a promising start 3d has been all but abondoned on the consoles because studios are refusing to invest extra money to satisfy a niche market. If it werent for Helix Mod cleaning up Nvidias laziness most 3d games on the pc would be unplayable today. Vorpx isnt looking to be the white knight anymore to springboard this technology and the game studios may not feel the profit incebtive to give us what we want. I’ll be keeping a close eye on what sort of partnerships the Oculus team can arrange but it looks like this is going to take quite soe time now.

I spent a ton of money on my Oculus Rift. I would easily pay $100 to $200 or more to receive a somewhat working version of the software. I am sure I am not alone.

In the meantime it’s back to Half Life 2 and Doom 3 BFG I guess.

What if we were all in one big episode of Catfish where VorpX didn’t really exist?
