Hello Guys, with me the dx10 renderer crashes with a “General protection fault” with VorpX on Windows 7.

Though the game (1.112fm_D1) has an experimental OpenGL renderer which i have created a G3D profile for. Follow instructions here : https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/have-you-gotten-an-unsupported-game-to-work-tell-us-which-one/page/7/#post-173822

    Deus Ex (2000) (G3D) v1.112fm_D1

-use experimentel OpenGL Renderer from: ( Show all devices )
-change resolution to higher values in DeusEx.ini
    -set graphics to 32bit
    example:
    FullscreenViewportX=1920
    FullscreenViewportY=1440
-gain/lower 3D Strength for HUD settings or when choosing Cinema Mode finetune 3D Strength together with focal offset for better HUD/3D sepeartion
    -Profile availiable from the cloud

    Frank Herbert’s DUNE (G3D)

I was surprised to see this old DX7 game in Stereo 3D.

-requires DGVoodoo2 and the DUNE cloud profile for G3D (Profile not tested in Win 8/10)
-If game crashes with a renderer error on startup use :http://dege.fw.hu/temp/Dune_patched.zip
    -Set SetBkInt32 MODE_Z_DEPTH 16 in configpc.cfg if game crashes on MODE_Z_DEPTH 32

Please lets concentrate on the issue from above for now.

Some News for Windows 7 readers, it appears that the DGVoodoo profile is very game dependend concerning G3D and WIN7/8/10. Today i have tested “The Thing” with DGVoodo2_54 successfully on WIN7 . (default settings)

Still looking for assistance in this concern https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/dgvoodoo2-on-windows-7/#post-173668

    Thank you

    The Thing (D3D8to9/DGVoodoo2_54) – (G3D)

Unbelievable how good this old horror shooter from 2002 appears in VR with G3D.

-G3D profile(D3D8to9) availiable from the cloud
-You can use any mode, profile is set to FULL VR
-HUD is positioned relatively uncommon, turn it OFF in game settings or use FULL VR Mode with Edgepeek
-Profile requires D3D8to9 wrapper from https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9
-you can alternatively use DGVoodoo2_54 with G3D on default, though D3D8to9 looks better with optimized HUD depth

    Torchlight (G3D)

    -Profile availiable from the cloud
    -Turn Rimlights, HW Skinning OFF
-Use Immersive Screen or Cinema Mode
-Tipp: Use “Torchlightcam”, a mod that you can move the camera around with and zoom into 3rd person view

Nice 3D, but one bug that you need to overlook is a tiny blue border (possibly a faulty window border which the game provides) on the left side of the game.

You can quite even this out by finetuning 3D Strength together with Focal Offset.

Serious Sam: First Encounter (G3D) – Original Game from 2001

    -Download profile from the cloud
-make game settings first before using VorpX (game looses settings every once in a while, write protecting the settings file may help)
-turn up graphics to the max
-Profile is using cinema mode for better FOV
-you may as well use Full VR mode with Headtracking, but FOV need to be ini tweaked for that. This may help for any tweaks.
-known issues: some elements are 2D, Intro Screens look bad, blood at HUD depth. Pushing HUD depth more into the game may improve this.
-experiment with focal offset together with 3D strength if guns appear unpleasant for your eyes.

    Important News for Windows7 user

I have managed to create a profile which provides G3D with DGvoodoo2 on Windows 7. There is a very good chance that this profile will work with many DX8 games, but unfortunatley i am not able to verfiy this on Windows 8/10 at the moment.

Before i properly upload and name any games to the cloud , i need your assistance for Unreal 2..

Please download this profile and add it to VorpX. Then rename Unreal2.exe to Unreal22.exe and see if you get a clean G3D on Windows 8/10. Also check if you experience problems with HUD.

Beside Unreal2 i have tested Schizm 2 today with the same profile susccessfully.

..best if you put OBS, Headset Monitor and Game on your Taskbar. Start SteamVR, VorpX, then Open OBS, load preset and/or assign recording hotkeys and make video settings (probably best matching the res you are using in the game), maximize Headset Monitor, start Game through taskbar, press recording hotkey. Ive converted the movie into another format.

here is a Samplevideo, several times converted, not best quality, but shows that 3D recording works. Note: Testvideo has mono Intro-Screen.

I used Whirligig for playback, MPC-HC seems to produce a strange image offset .

If youtube video does not work or you cant download it, here is the video in a less crappy format.

    Most important settings are:
You must use game capture + capture specific window ( steam “headset monitor” window or “Headset Mirror” )

..no need for any advenced technique. I have just managed to capture the steamvr headset monitor with OBS in stereo.

You must use game capture + capture specific window.
There choose the steam hadset monitor window.
Hotkey did not work yet, so press record before starting game.

    -open steamvr headset monitor window
    -press record (do settings above)
    -start game
-bring up heaset window again Full screen
    -obs is recording now
-click once in your game window otherwise you wont be able to play
-press stop recording in OBS after shutting down game

output is SBS Video which you can playback for example with mpc-hc player

one thing i have not tested yet if video remeions SBS after editing with windows movie maler for example.

    sample video following shortly.

You could try the system shock 2 profile with the thief dx9 mod.
