Does it work without Voice Attack running? Keyboard input handling has changed for a little performance boost.

Instead of updating the vorpX keyboard state from within the game that’s now done by the vorpX control app, which sends it to the ingame part of vorpX. Saves about a quarter of a millisecond per frame. Not much, but every bit counts.

I could imagine that the simulated Voice Attack input isn’t recognized correctly that way if it is sent directly to the game.

Haven’t checked this game, so I can’t really say anything specific. Do you have a Codemasters game from the ones mentioned in the release post that you could try (e.g. Dirt 3, F1 2019/2020)? Would be interesting to know if it works there for you.

I remember a similar issue with F1 2020 where recentering was off about 45°, but only in the garage. On the race track it worked fine.

Is FluidSync enabled in vorpX? I’m not 100% sure currently, but I think it should per default for Pimax headsets. Haven’t checked for a while though, so I might be wrong. FluidSync caps the game framerate to half the (normal) headset refresh rate and can help with a fluctuating headset framerate, which usually is a sign of GPU overload. If FluidSync is already on and you still have this issue, try to reduce game resolution/details.

I mainly stopped working on the matter because I wanted my hands free for that other little game you mentioned. No promises, but I’ll definitely get back to it.

The Steam version still works here. I’ll check the Epic version later, don’t have it installed currently.

The latest vorpX (21.1.0) has an updated Rocket League profile that supports DX11. If you didn’t grab that from the cloud already, it will be available after the vorpX update tp 21.1.0.

I’ll let you know whether the Epic version still works for me or not once the download finished.

Update: Epic version also works here.

BTW: Now that Rocket League belongs to Epic there is a certain chance that at some point they may add their anticheat system, which might eventually break hooking into the game at some point in the future.

The info in my last reply above is outdated. There has been a vorpX update in August that fixed the nVidia driver issue by introducing a third hooking method (‘hook helper’), which gets automatically installed for RDR2. Works perfectly fine here, both Rockstar and Steam version.

Please make sure that you have vorpX 2.3.1 or newer (you can check that in the config app, bottom/left corner) and try to either reset the profile to default in the config app or do a full factory reset.

Just a heads-up that for the time being there is no way to get a fully stable depth buffer. It worked fine during the intro sequence (young Eivor), but once the actual game begins the engine seems to switch between different depth buffers occasionally. Wouldn’t be a problem in most cases, but in this case tracking these changes doesn’t work right, so 3D constantly switches on/off.

I’ll take another stab at the matter later, for now however there won’t be a AC:Valhalla profile unfortunately.

I see, that clearly is not how it’s supposed to be. Whether the message is shown is defined by a flag in the profile, so under normal circumstances it should be always shown when the game is launched with Z3D originally. Maybe there is some odd bug, I’ll check whether I can replicate that here somehow.

As far as the still active shadows are concerned: sounds as if not all relevant shaders are defined in the profile. Would be great if you could send a savegame from a location that shows the issue to support |at| vorpx com. The savegame folder per default is C:\Users\[Your User]\Saved Games\Respawn\JediFallenOrder\

In principle that’s correct. That’s pretty much what the ‘narrow’ resolutions in the custom resolutions suggestions are for, which (if applicable for a given game) are also utilized by the DirectVR auto resolution feature. In practice however 4:3 resolutions are a good way to keep things simple when it comes to manually choosing a FullVR resolution. Performance difference is often small or even neglible, not all games like uncommon aspect ratios, also with 4:3 you have a bit of headroom for ImageZoom and some wiggle room for vorpX’s custom frame interpolation. So all in all 4:3 is usually a good choice for FullVR without having to care about the factors above.

A side effect of G3D is a higher CPU load on the main render thread, which leads to games becoming CPU limited more easily than in mono or Z3D. Since most current game engines are still pretty dependent on one main render thread CPU wise (FO76 definitely is), more cores don’t really help most of the time. With games becoming better optimized for multi-core rendering in the future that may change, but as of now it’s still the state of affairs for the vast majority of games. Right now the best CPU upgrade for gaming in general, and even more so for stereo 3D (G3D), would be an eight core CPU with maximum single core performance.

BTW: incidentally I spent quite a bit of time optimizing vorpX’s DX11 G3D CPU footprint recently, in CPU bound scenarios you often will see a 10-15% FPS increase with the next vorpX. Typically only at lower resolutions where the CPU tends to be the limiting factor more easily, but it might also help in places with lots of draw calls (like cities) at higher resolutions in case these temporarily lead to a CPU limited situation.

The only other potential reason why starting the installer might fail would be a messed up Microsoft DotNet install. Although that’s not very likely. Try to reinstall the DotNet 3.5 framework, which is the version required for the web setup. It comes with windows 10, google for “Windows 10 DotNet 3.5” for instructions on removing/installing it via the Windows features dialog.

Since that is way more likely to be the problem, just in case, again the hint to remove any invasive third party AV you may have installed. Some of the most annoying AV programs can’t really be fully disabled unless you remove them. Windows Defender will kick in instead, so there is zero risk involved.

Please make sure that your antivirus software doesn’t prevent the installer from starting. That’s almost certainly the problem. If you use anything else than Windows Defender, consider uninstalling it. There is no real need for invasive third party AV on Windows 10. Windows Defender is more than good enough for several years now.

The right profile is automatically active after installing vorpX, you don’t need to download anything. If you already downloaded a cloud profile, please restore the profile to default in the config app or do a full factory reset (on the trouble shooting page).

@ Chris: Switching to G3D after launching a game with Z3D may cause glitches in games with more complex renderers since for performance reasons with Z3D some things only relevant for G3D are skipped. In games where that is a known issue (incl. Fallen Order) there should be a little warning in that regard popping up directly below the option in the menu when you switch to G3D after launching the game with Z3D.

I consider this message pretty essential for avoiding confusion. Would be great if you could let me know whether it is shown for you when you launch the game with Z3D and then switch to G3D.

Hooking issues with multiple games almost always are caused by conflicts with other software on your PC that also hooks into games. The pinned trouble shooting guide on top of this sub forum has more deatils on the matter.
