RalfKeymasterUnder normal circumstances DirectVR adjusts the field of view and everything else that is required to adjust the image to fit your headset.
If you have changed any settings in the vorpX menu, please reset the profile to default in the config app. If that doesn’t help either, try a full factory reset.
RalfKeymasterGood to hear. I guess my issue with the game pass version was related to having the Steam version installed at the same time then.
I get the same jitter with Reach here also with the Steam version. The official profile will work with Reach, but only ‘officially’ support the original campaign. That has all DirectVR bells and whistles vorpX can provide though, so it’s working really well.
BTW: From the looks of it unfortunately every campaign (i.e. game) will need a individual set of profile settings, so don’t expect things to work automatically when MS releases more campaigns in the future. The MCC .exe is just a container that loads each game separetely as DLL, so in the end there almost certainly will have to be seven sets of profile settings to cover all seven original games.
RalfKeymasterYou can run games at higher resolutions for better image quality. Check the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section in the vorpX help for more detailed information on the matter. It contains a step-by-guide how to add resolutions to your PC that it cannot display otherwise.
RalfKeymasterI’m pretty sure there is a native VR Minecraft, or at least there was at some point. Hence I never even bothered to check the game.
RalfKeymasterThat shouldn’t be tha case. If in doubt make sure to use the Steam version. The FOV should be right without even having to run the scanner in that case.
RalfKeymasterI did have the start menu shortcut Spoons mentioned, but clicking it brought up the Windows Store which wanted me to reinstall the game. Afterwards I could launch the non-EAC version and vorpX could hook it, but when I started a campaign the game complained that the campaign isn’t available although it was clearly listed as installed in the menu. Go figure.
Might be some conflict due to having the Steam version installed in parallel or whatever, but in case it’s a general issue and not just something individual on my end I think the important message here is that game pass users may be out of luck.
RalfKeymasterFallout NV has full 6DOF tracking. For the best possible head tracking please make sure to run the DirectVR scanner after entering the game world. You should see an according hint in the top left corner of the game window as well as in the headset.
Controller: VR controllers can be used as gamepad or to emulate mouse/kb, configurable in the vorpX menu (presslong DEL opens the menu).
If you haven’t done so already, you may also want check the ‘Essential Hints Guide’ in the vorpX help. It explains a few basic concepts.
RalfKeymasterThanks guys! I only tried launching from the Xbox app and didn’t check the start menu at all…
Only half-way there though, but that’s a start at least. While I have the start menu shortcut Spoons mentions, clicking it leads to the Windows Store and a full reinstall of the game. I’ll try that hoping it will work afterwards. If not they probably indeed didn’t include the no anticheat option in the game pass version.
Edit: Doesn’t work for me with game pass. After the forced reinstall the game now launches without EAC and vorpX can hook into it, but the game complains about campaigns being unavailable when I try to start one although it lists them as installed… So I guess it’s Steam/Windows Store purchase only in this case. Unless this is some individual issue here, game pass users will be out of luck apparently.
RalfKeymasterIf you are still in contact with the guy, let him know that in The Outer Worlds the DirectVR scanner has to be run before the gamepad works natively. Prior to that the issue you described occurs.
That’s not related to GamePass. Some games don’t allow mouse and gamepad input at the same time, so whenever vorpX emulates a mouse for head tracking issues like you described can arise in affected games. Normally vorpX handles such cases with its built in gamepad to mouse/kb emulator, but in The Outer World that doesn’t work for some reason.
After a successful DirectVR scanner run however the gamepad can be used natively in The Outer Worlds. Same for Halo MCC by the way.
RalfKeymasterOne of those things on the should-be-done-someday list. If you can’t live with the auto-generated restore password, shoot me a mail with your cloud user name to support at vorpx com. I can delete your account, afterwards you can create a new one with a freely chosen password.
The cloud password gets stored locally though, you don’t really need to remember it. So alternatively you could just make a note with the auto generated pw in case you need it after a future reinstall.

RalfKeymasterYes, vorpX works with SteamVR, provided you have selected ‘SteamVR’ as headset type in the vorpX config app.
For everything else please check the reply to your support message.

RalfKeymasterI have no experience with RiftCat at all, as said above such a setup is not officially supported. I can’t really give any more specific advice than above unfortunately.
If you can’t make it work, send a mail to support |at| vorpx com and we will figure something out for you.
RalfKeymasterUsing a gamepad instead of kb/mouse or VR controllers set to gamepad emulation should help with that.
If that is not an option, you may be able to use AMD’s ‘Virtual Super Resolution’ feature instead of custom resolutions, although that might limit you to 16:9 resolutions, not sure currently.

RalfKeymasterHaven’t tried myself, so take this advice with a grain of salt, but if VD is using SteamVR, you probably will also have to set vorpX to SteamVR in the config app.
RalfKeymasterFOV is set by DirectVR, just checked with the Steam version to be sure nothing has changed.
Rotation: the scanner may have to be run two or three times. Occasionally it may ‘think’ it succeeded but didn’t.
