The HUD/menu is scaled down to be fully visible while you are in the game. For making adjustments in the game menu simply switch to EdgePeek mode (middle mouse button or right gamepad thumbstick). EdgePeek not only scales the menu back to full size, it’s also way more comfortable for menus since you can look around. Also useful for cutscenes.

In regard to resolutions please check the “Custom Resolutions” section in the vorpX help. It explains step-by-step how to add resolutions to your PC that are higher than your monitor’s native resolution.

Never! set widescreen resolutions for vorpX unless a game does not support 4:3 correctly. The effective resolution is per eye, so widescreen is waste of processing power since most rendered pixels will never be shown in the headset

You can create a trouble shoot data in the config app. It contains a logfile.

Just in case: if you are still using Windows 8, you should upgrade to Windows 10. The desktop viewer should still work on Windows 8.1, but apparently there is some issue.

I’m out of ideas, sorry. Never heard of anything like this in five years. If you want to check whether it’s somehow related to your SteamVR setup, you can try the “Generic Headset” in the vorpX config app. It displays the left/right images side by side on your desktop. When you change the ‘3D-Strength/Scale’ option you should see them shift slightly in opposite directions.

The G3D profile is broken currently, sorry. Will be fixed in the vorpX release. Thanks for the heads-up.

There is no DirectVR FOV or head tracking for the game though. Set the FOV as high as possible in the game options and then compensate for the rest with ‘Image Zoom’ in the vorpX menu. You will also have to adjust the head tracking sensitivity according to your mouse sensitivity.

BTW: You can find more generalized info regarding FOV/head tracking for non-DirectVR games in the vorpX help (“Essential Game Hints” and “1-2-3 Game Setup”).

Works fine here with “Half-Life 2: Update” from Steam directly, which MMOD seems to be based on. Unfortunately I can’t check mods for mods, sorry.

“Half-Life 2: Update” alone without MMOD already contains many of the changes of the additional MMOD, so you might want to give that a try.

@ lipplog: Automatic FOV is not available in the SW:BF2 single player campaign, only in multiplayer/arcade maps. For some reason Dice chose to make the FOV adjustable in multiplayer only. For the single player campaign immersive screen mode makes most sense.

No real need to wait for the next vorpX version. Like most newer Z3D profiles Z3D works well in both titles unless you look at objects really close to the camera, which should rarely happen during normal gameplay.

There isn’t really any logical explanation for your issue unfortunately, so the only thing that seems vaguely possible is that some messed up settings survived your last reinstall.

Please try to uninstall vorpX and then delete both the vorpX program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) and the data folder (C:\ProgramData\Animation Labs\vorpX) manually afterwards to ensure that everything vorpX related got deleted before you reinstall.

The C:\ProgramData folder is hidden per default. If you can’t see it, enable “Show hidden files” in your Windows Explorer options.

Also try to uninstall Afterburner and any other software that might hook into games, just in case.

Please make sure to use the Black Mesa that can be purchased on Steam, not the older mod version. The issue that caused a crash with Vive has been resolved two or three vorpX versions ago.

BTW: No double (or triple in this case) posts regarding the same issue, one is enough. I have deleted the other ones.

Please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com. We can provide you with a backup purchase method that does not use MyCommerce. You will need a PayPal account for that though.

Sounds like some issue with validating your PayPal/credit card data. MyCommerce sometimes rejects payments for no apparent reason. You could either try to reach them via their shopper contact form (https://www.mycommerce.com/shopper-support/) or send a mail to support |at| vorpx com for an alternative purchase method.

vorpX can’t change the actual gameplay of a game. For third person games that usually means that the camera rotates around the player character.

The closest you can get to what you want to achieve is switching the ‘Play Style’ option to ‘Immersive Screen Mode’ and then use just a little bit of head tracking. For many third person games that’s the profile default.

I think Star Citizen supports TrackIR, so you should be able to use OpenTrack instead of vorpX’s mouse emulation head tracking. OpenTrack can emulate TrackIR input with a headset.

Just in case, to get that out of the way: the headset stays black until you put it on.

Apart from that: The only other software you need is the Oculus software. It will automatically launch when vorpX hooks into a game. If you can’t make it work in Oculus mode, you could try to use vorpX in SteamVR mode though, maybe that helps. To do that, select “SteamVR” as your headset type in the vorpX config app.

Regarding Avast: try to uninstall it for testing purposes. One of those AV programs that are known to cause issues on a regular basis. If you are on Windows 10, Windows Defender (also excellent AV software these days) will kick in automatically.

This sounds extremely weird. If vorpX hooks into both games and you can select G3D, it should be next to impossible that you don’t have stereo 3D with G3D selected.

First please make sure to use the official profiles for both games, just in case the user profiles you tried don’t work correctly. Then try to raise the “3D-Strengh/Scale” option in the vorpX menu and see whether that makes a difference. Be aware though that the default 1.0 usually yields roughly natural scale/3D. Higher values will result in “more 3D”, but due to the exaggerated stereo effect the world will appear smaller.
