Checked this today. There is indeed nothing you can do. Will be fixed in the next vorpX release (18.2.0). No release date yet though.

Not sure what might have changed in this regard, the game hasn’t been touched in a long time. I’ll take a look at it.

Working G3D will require vorpX 18.2. No release date yet though.

It’s just another maintenance release, I almost feel the need to apologize for it. Most time is already spent on 18.2 for quite a while though which will bring substantial improvements in the DX11 department (read: more DX11 Geometry 3D games).

In the end I am legally responsible for what gets posted here. nVidia restricts use of their 3D drivers to hardware from vendors who pay them royalties, bypassing these restrictions is obviously unwanted and almost certainly illegal in most countries. I do not want such measures discussed here for the same reasons that for example piracy can’t be disussed here. End of story.

@ dellrifter: The ALT-key setting actually exists internally, it’s just not exposed to the GUI. I’ll add it as an expert setting for the next vorpX version.

@ nieda: Far Cry 2 has Geometry 3D since 18.1.2. Make sure not to disable the automated settings adjustment. All supported Far Cry games have G3D now.

If you just want to watch them, you can use VLC or MPC-HC. The video player profiles have a display option for watching 360° videos/images (image page of the vorpX menu).

If you want to import them as backdrops for cinema mode, you can do that in the vorpX config app (“Cinema Environments”).

Sounds like something worth to consider for cinema mode. No promises though.

If you import user settings for a game that has an official profile (like Far Cry 2) there is no new entry in the list, the user settings are loaded “on top” of the base profile. If you see a message that the import succeeded, all is well.

The beauty of this is that user settings in the cloud stay valid even with later versions of base profiles. If for example I update the base/system profile of a game with new shader fixes or similar things, you can still apply older user settings afterwards without overwriting such an updated base profile.

Mosue movement is not factored into the headsets “timewarp” calculations hence it is not as perfectly smooth as moving your head.
