YohaskanParticipant
Please choose a 4:3 resolution in all Source engine games to minimize the chance of any potential issue like this. There’s a notification missing about that in the current build. Also check the hint text regarding Direct VR in general that is shown during each scan, it’s there for a reason.
And last but not least please always make sure that your games are updated to the latest version in Steam before reporting any issues. Especially for Direct VR this can be very important.
I’m already on 4:3
“I tried this new profile “Portal 2 [vorpX] without optimization, 1600×1200”
4:3
640×480, 800×600, 1024×768, 1152×864, 1280×960, 1400×1050, 1600×1200, 1920×1440, 2048×1536And i confirm no issue in Portal 2 : Mel,
just on portal 2 classic (both Steam versions) have this odd flicker every few seconds.YohaskanParticipantPS²:
Strange and interesting thingI tried the profile with Portal: MEL and there, there is not this problem of flikering / shaking :o
YohaskanParticipantI tried this new profile “Portal 2 [vorpX] without optimization, 1600×1200
But I still have this annoying issue
– After Direct VR activation
I see flickering/ shakeing sometimes
The whole scene, like 0.2 second duration and after that, is the Portal gun only. Then it stabilizes but the cycle can resume 5-10 seconds laterIn the state it is too disruptive to make the game playable
YohaskanParticipantNew test last update 17.1.3
I tested before and after the direct mode VR, and it is when it is active that the animation of Portal generator (gun) shake/flicker like missing animation.
It does not do this when I disable VR direct modeFor the Fov, changing it only deforms the screen, it does not change this feeling of being too close to the image
I wanted to make a video to show what happens but I do not see any option to reactivate the return on the video screen (Mirror).
Another thing, Vorpx optimzation doesn’t work “path not found”
(This game is on Drive D:)YohaskanParticipantI have a live test VR 17.1.2
Overall, it’s much better, but … (necessarily a but)
I always have a feeling of being too close to … something
Another problem, random flickering happens from time to timeThese small bug gives an unpleasant feel to the game
I play with HTC Vive, gtx 1080
in 1600×1200, no AA, aniso x16, multicore, max qualityDo you have some tips?
consol command, desactivate shadow ?YohaskanParticipantI can set in 1600×1200 in 50fps / 89 in game, rather fluid. (GTX 1080)
but Vorpx glitch shading the ground if you try to adjust “3D FOV Enhancement”.
And without that,
it makes a world a little “frosty/foggy” onto the ground
With the added bonus of a strong “zoom” any objects that are in 1st planNot really great for VR immersion all this
YohaskanParticipantYou can see my others setting on the second video test
YohaskanParticipantYes, i don’t remember the sentence but it’s that one, i think
YohaskanParticipantOk i found myself the response.
It’s an option in Vorpx to “Safe” Sync and i turn on to “Fast”
i can now have 70-90 FPS in game with a Nvidia GTX 1080
Thanks for nothingYohaskanParticipantThis is the last test I have done with the new fix anti-crash for theHunter.
I can now adjust the graphics quality at 1600×1200 @ 90 FPS, High texture quality.
YohaskanParticipantWith a GTX 1080, i can have now “Game FPS 60 direct mode 89”
But why this 60 FPS seem to be the max ?
is it a Vsync on my Monitor at 60Hz who limit that ?however, i have set Vsync on my game to Off
YohaskanParticipantSame issue with my games, i have the profil but not my setting after quit vorpx (Vive mode)
YohaskanParticipantIn my version (French), click on the button “Adujst FOV” it’s does nothing because it is written in console “Fov &éà” instead of “Fov 120”
YohaskanParticipantI have up to 1280×1024 resolution and seems to be stable with a new setting i’ve put
How Cloud PROFILE works?
I have to update the version manually?45Game/45 Direct3D FPS
and with FluidSync:on,
45Game /89 Direct3D FPSYohaskanParticipantare you with a HTC Vive or Oculus?
