Bring up the VorpX menu using the delete key on keyboard or clicking L3 on a controller then find the option for head tracking and turn it off.

Trying out some of my older games with VorpX & decided to try this one, apart from shadows looking a bit weird occasionally i got it looking & working great on my set up (6700XT & Rift S) so just thought i’d post my game & VorpX settings:

Game resolution set to 2560 x 1440 & FOV slider set to 120..

VorpX setting (any settings not mentioned are left on default):

    Main settings

    Full VR
    Geometry
    3D strength – 1.00
    Head tracking – 1.50
    Main eye – Right

    Image settings

    Clarity – Medium
    Sharpen – 2.0
    Hud scale – 0.60
    Hud horizontal – 0.55
    Hud depth – 0.85
    Shadow treatment – Auto
    Aspect ratio – 1:1
    Image zoom – 0.80

    Direct VR settings

    FOV adjustment – 20.00

    Very cool experience in VR.

Pressing the left analogue stick (L3) on a controller brings up the VorpX menu when using it normally so i assume it is the same when using desktop mode.

You are very welcome my friend, hopefully it can help people get an even better experience with RDR2 in VR than it is already.

I posted a link to this mod in another topic but i’ll post it here too as it is pretty handy: Skip legal screen mod – https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/28?tab=description skips the shotgun Rockstar screen & the two legal screens before the main menu, helpful for cutting down the time it takes to get into the game especially if like me the game usually crashes 2-3 times before working properly.

Edit: In the first post i mentioned two mods Bounties expansion & Bounty hunting expanded & enhanced, you only need the Bounty hunting expanded & enhanced mod as that is basically an improved version of the Bounties expansion mod, no need for both.

Yeah it always works eventually, usually after 2-3 tries so it’s not a big problem & with the legal screen skip mod it cuts down on the time it takes to get into the game, your work is very much appreciated Ralf, cheers.

After some more testing i am still getting crashes at the main menu so it does not fix the crashing issue but it does cut down on the time i had to wait sitting through the shotgun screen then the legal screens so still worth installing if you want to save some time if your game crashes multiple times before eventually working.

Never mind i figured out a way to get it working, if i start the game connected to the internet & then disconnect while on the main menu before loading into the game or changing the resolution scale it does not crash & i can play offline, it seems that the social club pop up notifications trigger a memory error if already in the game with the resolution scale adjusted.

Game still won’t let me start offline at all though no matter what i do, it always gives me the “Activation Required” nonsense, i have a strong dislike for game companies that force people to go online when there is no need for it, should only have to go online for online gaming.

One thing i noticed that’s a bit weird, in some scenes like when you meet Jackie outside your apartment building before you meet Dexter Deshawn it goes into edgepeek view when looking at Jackie but if you turn your head to the right it will stay in proper VR view, it does the same when you meet mama welles at the bar before Jackie’s funeral thing, when you sit at the table with her if you are looking at her it goes into edgepeek view but if you turn to the right so you can only see her out of the edge of your vision it stays in proper VR view, it’s not a major problem just a bit weird, be good if it could just stay in VR view without having to look away from the person you are talking to.

In some scenes it stays in edgepeek view no matter if you turn your head or not, such as the corpo start when you talk to Jenkins in his office, it goes into edgepeek view when you sit down and only goes into proper VR view when you stand up, another weird situation is when you talk to Evelyn at Lizzie’s bar it goes into edgepeek view when talking to her in the little room with the holographic stripper dancing and stays in that view until you get in the chair down in Judy’s room but if you save the game and load when you are leaving that room with the holographic stripper heading down to see Judy it gives the proper VR view.

As i said it’s nothing major just little things that are a bit weird.

Ignore my previous post, was testing out the Cosmos on other games (Half Life Alyx & Assetto Corsa) and the Cosmos is just not very good compared to the Rift S, performance wise on those games it seems ok but the picture clarity is rubbish, guess i’ll just keep it as an emergency backup.

Has anyone got this mod working good with a Vive Cosmos, if so what are your headset settings, Steam vr settings, Vorpx settings? i have one and an Oculus Rift S, i can get it working good on the Rift but on the Cosmos it is pretty bad, very shaky/jittery. My Rift is pretty beaten up, still working for the moment but just in case it breaks i would like to have the Cosmos as a backup.

It surprises me too that VorpX doesn’t have as much recognition as it should, that i can play RDR2 in VR & it looks & performs really good even on my system (5700XT) makes it worth the price without even taking into account all the other games it supports, desktop viewer etc plus the free Cyberpunk mod looks & performs really good for me too, i did have to change some graphics options & choose my own resolution to get them looking & performing as well as they can on my system rather than letting the mod decide & it’s amazing, i like driving around really slow in the Murk Man car as it has the best inside car view imo just taking in the sights, i can get lost in the worlds of RDR2 & Cyberpunk for hours at a time all thanks to VorpX.

Re RDR2 the camera does slightly change but it is hard to notice, if you have a weapon drawn it makes it easier as the weapons are held in a lower position or simply change the view to 3rd person & back to see if you are crouching, i would also like to be able to see Arthur’s body, his holsters etc, would be cool.

@Ralf It’s not crashing when i leave the map now so no clue why it was crashing before when exiting the map.

@Ruchir Pretty sure you just want to use the standalone mod as it gives you a warning to turn VorpX off if it is on when you start with the mod installed.

As for bypassing the standalone mod Ralf said in a previous post “You can temporarily disable/enable the mod by moving vpxCP2077.asi from [CP2077]\bin\x64\plugins to your desktop and back.”

@Ralf, that is the data archive sent, hopefully it helps.
