Hi. I am completely new to VorpX. I am using Rift S with my Lenovo Legion Y540 laptop. It has I7 9th gen, RTX 2060 and 32 GB RAM onboard. Display is 1920×1080 px.
I think I tried everything and can’t launch VorpX with most of my games. Only very few of them work with no issues (like Metro 2033 or Fallout New Vegas).
Tried to hook it up with Witcher 3, CP2077, Subnautica Below Zero, 7 days to die, BeamNG Drive, Satisfactory, Space Engineers and many more. I added custom resolutions in NVidia CP, tried to change in-game setting and still nothing :(
Help me please! I don’t know what to do.
Desktop Viewer works perfectly fine.
Huhu zusammen :) Ich habe versucht kingdome come deliverance zu starten. Danach Cyberpunk2077.
In Cyberpunk 2077 its capped for performance reasons. Maybe in a year or two when faster GPUs are more widespread the profile will be changed. A higher FOV can have a fairly huge impact on performance, especially in cutting edge games that draw a lot of things on the screen.
The way vorpX handles the setting of FOV and resolution for the game always ensures that the screen is fully utilized horizontically, just vertically a little bit is missing. The visible cutoff you experience horizontically is purely caused by your removal of the face gasket. Horizontically you simply see the physical screen edges, more zoom wouldn’t change that.
I played Cyberpunk 2077 and am playing red dead 2 right now with a rtx 2070 which is about the same as a 1080, at 1440p on high quality. Both games run well.
Cyberpunk 2077 in vorpx has been my best gaming experience to date. I love vorpx so much and tbh I haven’t played a single non vorpx VR game or pancake game on my monitor since I bought vorpx 5 months ago. I even built a mod that suspends my HMD from the ceiling specifically for long sessions of vorpx cinema gaming. Thanks for creating this amazing software! I would gladly pay a sub it.
Hi,
my hardware is:
Intel Core i7 9700K 3,6 GHz 12MB
RAM SDRAM DDR4-2666 HyperX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB)
SSD 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super (GDDR6 8 GB )
Oculus Quest 2
I use the default Vorpx Cyberpunk 2077 profile.
I´m trying to play this game in VR but i can only get a “decent” play on 1280×1024. Everything superior produces a lot of blink on the screen and awful fps
Either way on 1280×1024 is still very bad and i can´t read anything.
I need a better harware to play cyberpunk in VR?
Hello New Customer, bought vorpx today.
Started tweaking the setup for Cyberpunk 2077.
All is good but I cannot figure out how to make head tracking Y axis normal when I play Y axis inverted on Mouse. Basically like this when i look up with my headset, I look down on screen… catch 22. Hope there is an option I am missing.
Been playing like that for 30 years there is no going back :( :(
I went into the config menu in-game and saw many options but didnt see anything about headtrack invert Y.
Thanks nice product!
I am a little frustrated because it used to work but I did not use VorpX for a while after launch because it still was not optimal for me.
I tried it again after the recent updates to CP2077 and VorpX and now I am getting this error and it crashes out the game or just will not load to Quest 2:
VorpX Warning
Possible conflict detected. vorpX may not work correctly. Please rename/remove the below files:
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\dxgi.dll
I am concerned that removing or renaming that file will break the game entirely.
I would love any support or suggestions.
In case CP2077 for a host of reasons the decision has been made to slightly cap the FOV (only vertically). I can’t really give you a different reply, sorry. Aside from performance considerations also pixel density is a factor, this way a sharper image is possible at a lower resolution. Playing highly demanding AAA games with vorpX always means that some compromises have to be made. In this particular case a slightly reduced vertical FOV is one of those compromises. Trust me you won’t really notice it once you start focusing on the actual game instead.
Game FOV and headset FOV have to match. Quote from above, most important part emphasized for clarity.
In Cyberpunk 2077 vorpX (slightly) limits the vertical FOV on purpose to ensure good performance. Please don’t change any of that, vorpX per default automatically matches the game FOV to the headset accordingly. A higher FOV would mean more has to be rendered, means reduced performance. Also apart from the reduced performance trying to override the auto adjustment leads to a warped/zoomed image unless you re-adjust everything manually.
Yes, your are right that the FOV slider does not increase your actual FOV but it affects, which FOV of the “first person character” is diplayed. According to the vorpX documentation this FOV should normally be adjusted to 112° but the official CP 2077 profile adjusts it to 115°. Maybe this setting is better or maybe because FOV could only be adjusted in steps of 5° before the mod (or update?)? But the mod you were mentioning concerns this “game settings” FOV slider, and for some reason this slider goes up to 165° in my (in game, CP 2077 and not vorpX) settings.
I am also trying to play Cyberpunk 2077 on a Quest 2 and I have the same problem, black window around my field of view that is just a little bit too small. How would one go about changing this (I hope that performance is not an issue, I have a decent gpu, 2080 Ti, and I don’t mind reducing the settings).
I am a little bit confused about the field of view slider in the game settings. There is this mod, but actually I did NOT install the mod and nevertheless the slider goes up to 150 in my game settings. Was this included in a recent update or did vorpX install the mod by itself?
I have one more problem when playing CP 2077 in vorpX: The HUD has some strange “bump-mappy” artifacts. I suspect this is related to the z-Buffer technique, is there some option to avoid this (in vorpX, game settings or nvidia setting)?

Someone already testet the dx12 profiles of Gears of War 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Cyberpunk 2077 ?
The profiles of Hitman 1+2 won’t work because they are dx11 profiles.
The PS-VR Version has a First Person Mode, and i hope the Non-VR PC Version has that option, too. The profiles of Hitman 1 + 2 support G3D and Z3D both, but Hitman 3 is dx12 only and doesn’t support G3D. But if the Z3D in First Person Mode is as good as the Z3D in Cyberpunk 2077, than it will be great experience to play Hitman 3 via Vorpx.
