    Minor correction: motion controllers can be used as either gamepad or fully configurable mouse/keyboard substitute. Including an intuitive ingame visualization that always displays the current mapping directly on the controllers ingame.

    And, quite a while overdue, soon there also will be configurable controller gestures.

    vorpx gives you the opportunity to play a huge number of great flat games in vr. However, it must be mentioned that motion controllers are not supported. Since I only want to play in 3d while sitting with the normal gamepad, vorpx offers me exactly what I need. Meanwhile I buy games only after checking that there is a profile for vorpx. For me an absolute must as a VR fan. I can absolutely recommend vorpx.

    Hi There

    I purchased VorpX recently to use with my Meta (Oculus) Quest 2, so I am a nooby user. However I am having trouble getting it to work without being blocked by Windows Defender. It seems to block it at different times, including while attempting to play a game, and sometimes immediately after installing. Windows Defender is not giving me a chance to give it an exclusion, its just immediately identifying it as a virus and deleting it, forcing me to reinstall. I have tried turning off Windows Defender’s app monitor but it has made no difference.

    Below is the details Windows Defender gives for the “threat”:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Trojan:Win32/Bearfoos.B!ml
    Alert Level: Severe
    Status: Active
    Date: 24/11/2022 12:19
    Category: Trojan
    Details: This program is dangerous and executes commands from an attacker.
    Affected Items:
    file D:\vorpX\vorpControl.exe
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Hey there,

    Ive recently installed the Cyberpunk VR Mod however have had numerous issues that Im trying to resolve, mainly being excessive jittery resolution and the Oculus screens dsyncing.

    The process Ive gne through to play the game is as follows:

    – installed the VRMod via the setup file
    – selected Oculus as the device
    – Connect to PC via Oculus Airlink
    – Run Steam VR from Oculus Airlink control panel
    – Run Cyberpunk from Steam on PC
    – VRMod config screen loads and is insanely jittery. If i progress to the game the lenses dsync – one lens displays a static image, the other lens displays the game

    – tried to use Oculus Link as opposed to Airlink, no difference

    – Tried using VR Desktop from Oculus headset, started SteamVR from VR Desktop
    – launched game, advised no Oculus headset connected
    – In the PC Oculus app selected Oculus as the default OpenXR runtime

    Have tried changing settings such as DirectVR to Z-Normal and Z-Adapative, set resolitions to Low and always have the same issue. The display is jittery like crazy or the lenses wont sync.

    System Specs are:

    AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
    16384MB RAM
    DirectX 12
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
    Monitor running at 1920 x 1080

    Any help in setup and the best process to launch the game would be great

    Hi Heoun,
    If you want to use JUST your controller make sure you have “Override X-Box Gamepad” switched to off, … However;
    If you are using the vorpx controller emulation (or “Override X-Box Gamepad”) on “FULL” or “PARTIAL” then you should be able to reduce the sensitivity down in the “change controller sensitivity” section.
    Knock the X and Y down to 0.01 (even 0.00 in some cases) on the stick (left or right) that that is causing issues.

    I have had the same issue in a few games that wont let me use native controller and this resolves the issue.
    Also worth noting that you “may” need to switch the Walk/Run invert (or something like that) at the top of the “Change Gamepad Mapping” section (this way your character shouldn’t sprint off into the distance when you full lock the stick to move).

    Might take a bit of poking to get it just right, but worth it in the end ;)

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Ralf, I just wanted to tell you, that I have been able to make a controller for SteamVR with the OpenVR API.

    I have been able to use the “GetProjectionRaw” method, to adjust the images on my tilted screens.

    Now I don’t have head tracking, this is a 3DOF USB HID, but, I already have my images perfectly aligned in the 135 FOV viewfinder MOD, in SteamVR.

    All the best.

    After some research, I was able to whitelist vorpControl.exe file in Webroot. This solved the problem, and I have sent the email for the activation code.

    New purchase. Download and installation went well. Configure VorpX will open and works.

    Start vorpX does nothing. Nothing opens. Nothing at all.

    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpControl.exe”

    is the file location.

    I disable my Webroot SecureAnywhere protection program, and the Windows Defender Firewall before installing.

    Per default the motion controllers should act as gamepad in the first place, so you should always see the gamepad prompts in the game when using motion controllers. If not, something is defintely wrong.

    Please first check whether you maybe accidentally changed the motion controller mode to keyboard/mouse in the mod’s options menu. if so, switch back to gamepad.

    If that is already the case or does not help, check whether you maybe have any external tools running that potentially hook into game input. Disable *every* extra tool/utility you may have running in the background.

    Lastly check your controller settings in the game’s Steam properties. Should be ‘Use Defaults’. Someone had a similar problem earlier, turned out they had tinkered with that setting. Unlikely, but maybe you did the same.

    With a fresh install of CyberPunk and the VR mod, the game does not seem to accept input from the Index controllers once I pass the gesture controls tutorial. The gestures tutorial works fine.

    I can hold L grip, then R grab to open the VorpX menu and move the cursor fine within that menu, but once I close the VorpX menu, CyberPunk itself does not recognize any input from my Index controllers. I’ve made sure to hop out of the headset and clear the message that is overlayed on the flat screen just in case that was blocking input, but to no avail.

    Plugging in an Xbox controller, the game correctly switches over to “controller mode,” and input works fine for the Xbox controller. I’ve also tried swapping between SteamVR and OpenXR in the Configure CyberPunk VR app without any luck. Keyboard/mouse input works fine. However, my main draw to the VorpX version of the Cyberpunk VR mod are the motion controls/gestures, so I’d love to sort out the issue.

    Thanks.

    Hi everyone I am playing arma3 and using a Xbox controller which works to control the character in game but when I use Vorpx the sensitivity is way to high so moving the stick a little makes me move way to fast
    If I try and turn down the sensitivity in the game itself that does nothing
    How can I lower the game sensitivity through vorpx

    Thanks

    I don’t need motion controls or anything, I just want to put on the headset and have full 360 look around with my head (like gyro) while just sitting down at my comptuer with keyboard and mouse.

    Does vorpX support java minecraft, anyone have set that up? Need java cause I play modded.

    Basically the key decision as to whether or not I should purchase this app.

    Why would you play LE with vorpx instead of the VR version?

    Several reasons.

    First, there are some mods that don’t work with Skyrim SE/VR (essentially, mods that have physics based on HDT-LE). But that’s not the main reason.

    The main reason is that there are some aspects of Skyrim VR that I don’t like.

    One of them is some missing animations, like when you are at the forge, mining or fighting. Yes, you read correctly, fighting! In Skyrim LE and SE, as many other games, when you fight, or better saying, when you press a button in your keyboard that is assigned to the fight, you see an animation of your main character fighting. And that’s the way it should be on Skyrim VR! No, I’m not crazy.

    Let me explain why.

    In Skyrim VR, Bethesda made the dream of many people (my self included) – you move your arm, and you see your weapon moving. And that’s the problem! As you know, in Skyrim LE and SE, the more one weapon is heavy, the more slow you will see this same weapon moving. That’s logic, as in the real world, we can move much quickly a dagger than a heavy two hand sword. But in Skyrim VR, you move a two hand sword as fast a dagger, because both move as fast as you move your hand. For me, that’s break the game immersion. A lot!

    Second, I don’t like the moving system that Bethesda choose for the game, so that the player does not get nauseated. I don’t want to move by jumps and I don’t want to get my FOV reduced if I move normally (without jumps). I know that we can move normally, without the momentary reduced FOV, but that’s take us to my final problem with Skyrim VR. I have the HTC VR controllers, I was not used to using them to drive the main character and I didn’t feel like gaining experience doing so, not least because I think the joystick option on HTC’s VR controls is not practical to use.. And I found no way to play Skyrim VR sitting, with mouse and keyboard, as I do with Skyrim LE in VR.

    Third, I already had a good image on Skyrim LE in VR with Vorpx, better than the image I got with Skyrim VR when I first tried it. I didn’t feel like wasting hours again investigating how to improve the image of the game, as I had done with Skyrim LE with Vorpx.

    So, that are the reasons that led me to give up Skyrim VR. However, I intend to try again Skyrim VR very soon.

    Software offers generic 3d monitor or 3d device output and it will display side by side on your monitor that can be streamed to phone (but since its squished in half by that it wont be as good and as clear as vorpx+real vr headset)

    As for try – there is a free mod for cyberpunk, but dont know if you can run that game and if vorpx can output sbs in a free mod as that setting is in vorpx control UI that is part of full software.

    Other than that there are no demos or refunds for vorpx.

    I use Vive Pro2 every day with Vorpx and it works great. I have upgraded to a 3080 GPU (I think that is necessary because 1080 frame rates were too slow). For best results I use windowed game with a custom resolution 2560×1440 (you need to use a DVI cable input to your display monitor)(create one with Nvidia Control panel)set in the game (not on the desktop)and then resize the window smaller to up the frame rates. As you make the window smaller, the frame rate rises but the resolution decreases. I will never be able to use the full resolution of my Vive pro due to frame rate limitations, but by gradually reducing the size of the window untill you get an acceptable frame rate, you get the max you can for your gpu. I am very satisfied with Vorpx with Vive pro2.
