Hi I am a Vorpx newb and Fallout 4 is the only game so far that works but, The Pip boy is right close to my face so I cannot see the whole interface nor do I seem able to select any of the menu’s etc, Playing on a xbox controler the buttons seem to have been changed from the normal F4 settings.

Is their also any way to invert head tracking to match my prefered inverted controller?
    Cheers for any help.

Tried it out. Unfortunately just like usual there’s no 3d effect on the game, just on the Vorpx menu. Weird that yours works. I would’ve thought the G3D works the same for both Rift / Vive etc?
Are you getting proper popout of the objects in the game?

With Tridef + Virtual Desktop, Tesla has amazing popout, similar to Fallout 4+Vorpx for me.

Yes, I have been using the gamepad and the emulation works very well. And to be honest at 90hz in Rift CV1 and whatever wizardry you have going under the hood the mouse emulation feels like there is absolutely no lag at all. (I actually don’t notice any difference between tracking in Fallout 4 and native games)

All I meant was that in fallout 4 without emulation the onscreen prompts show “A button” instead of “Left Mouse Button”. Its a very very minor thing (and also only applies to a couple of games) and something I am sure after 5 minutes I won’t even notice it.

As I said nothing but positives this end. Been using the desktop viewer as well to watch videos etc. Certainly VorpX customers are getting a lot for the money. Credit where credit is due. If I didn’t own have Vorpx I would buy it again, no question.

    Hi Ralf,

Firstly I would like to say how incredibly impressed I am with the latest driver. Its a really polished experience. Fallout 4 is a real standout where it honestly feels as close to a native experience as I think possible. I can see myself spending a lot of time in VorpX.

One small issue is the “direct tracking” scanner. When I run it I get a small pause and then a “ding” sound, but after that tracking is lost. I’ve tried rerunning it quite a few times and as yet have never been able to get it working. Is there something I need to do? The other issue is once that is pressed I cannot seem to switch back to mouse/gamepad emulation. My trials have always been at the start of the game in your house where the guy knocks on the door.

Any advice you can give would be much appreciated.

Sorry for my bad english… I tried vorpx with battlefield 4 and fallout 4, but I have a problem ..
The game works but the view is not correct. In the screen that should display the game in vr, I have the impression to have before a 3D flat screen and a few centimeters.. Something does not work… I tried to correct the fov but not solve anything. No other setting makes me think of being in a game for the vr, but I only have the impression of being in front of a big screen 3D.
The game weapon remains too large, and changing the fov find myself only the closest background. I do not understand what could be the error. Thanks for your help

In regard to possible rendering glitches it might be best to stick to aspect ratios that are natively supported by the game. If you have glitches with uncommon resolutions that aren’t there otherwise, try something that the game supports directly, e.g. 1600×1200.

I’m not sure how this affects Skyrim, but Fallout 4 for example has various glitches with resolutions that are not really supported by the game. Considering that Skyrim is based on an older iteration of the same engine that might also be the case here.

Hey, I noticed something that could help some people. Once I closed VorpX, none of my games would run. Once I uninstalled it and reinstalled it then it works. But I found out that if you run VorpX in Admin, and then the game you want to play in Admin, then it works. Otherwise, the only way for my games to work were to reinstall VorpX then it worked for fallout 4, but it didn’t work for Arma 3, but once I ran VorpX as Admin, then Arma 3 as Admin, it ran. Just something that you might mention.

    Thanks, great program!!!

    Hopefully a quick question:

I have been successfully doing stereoscopic gaming for many years now using AMD cards and TriDef (went AMD for several reasons, including not wanting to be locked-into NVidia’s proprietary stereoscopic hardware and a much sharper post-processing AA option). I run Frame Packing 720p or SBS 1080p on both a 720p DLP and a Sony Playstation 3D display. Games include DAO, Fallout 3/NV, AC, Project Cars, DAI, Skyrim Etc. Etc.

However, TriDef is now in some sort of financial trouble and new profiles and support for new games is lagging. Fallout 4, which I very much wish to play in stereoscopic mode only works in their “power 3D” mode which is a fake-3D (I understand Vorpx offers a similar feature), which I just can’t tolerate, but not their true 3D mode.

How does Vorpx play with non OR / Vibe configurations? If it is just a stereoscopic injector like Tri-Def, but with some added head-tracking and other features it will probably work just fine for all of us long-time stereoscopic gamers out there. If it specifically looks for OR / Vibe hardware then it’s not going to work at all.

Anyone here have experience with Vorpx and traditional stereoscopic gaming configurations? Does it work?

Thanks! (And yes, I did google, and I did email Vorpx support directly. No info I could find, and Vorpx support never got back to me…)

Every other game I have tried works fine but for some reason vropx will not activate when I launch fallout 4. I am using a Vive btw. Is there anything I can try to get this working?

EDIT: Sorry I got it working by creating a vorpx shortcut and disabling my antivirus. Both needed to be done before it would work correctly.

I have tried the new update with Skyrim and have some questions.

    1) the “multithread input” option no longer appears. I used to have a smoother head tracking but now without this I get some uncomfortable stutter and frame skipping when I look around. Is there some other way to use this in the new update ???

    2) Direct Head Tracking: I know this only works for Fallout 4 now, but when I try it in Skyrim it turns my head tracking completely off… Unless I leave the vorpX menu up. With the VorpX menu present I get very nice smooth head tracking, so I can have nice smooth head tracking if I don’t mind playing with the vorpX menu in my face LOL. Does this mean the head tracking will be nice and smooth if this feature is added to skyrim in future updates?

    3) async time warp menu is different. What do the new options do?

Just dropping by to say i tried this with bf4 and was reallly reallly pleasantly surprised. i had figured the cinema mode would be good but the full in with head tracking would be vom city but it was actually perfect. only thing i wouldnt try to do in an actual match would be fly a chopper with head tracking. really surprised and excited to try fallout 4 tomorrow.

One thing i would love is a list of the games that specifically support geometry 3d. i think what i had in bf4 was z buffer but honestly dont know.

    anywho thus far amazing product.

Bought the vorpx beta last night. Windows 10, nvidia titan X. Installed vorpx, restarted my computer. I’ve tried every possible combination of things I can think of to get this to work. Disabling all apps running in my taskbar. Restarting steam VR, restarting my computer, restarting vorpx, running everything as administrator, steam VR direct mode vs not direct mode. Creating a shortcut via taskbar vorpx icon to fallout 4 downloaded through steam. Everytime I try to run it I just get a black screen. Vorpx desktop mode does not work at all. I can see the process has started but in my HMD I still see my steam VR background.

I once received a white screen with multiple color lines, almost like 2 rainbow colored barcodes. I don’t remember what combination of things I tried when that occured though because I’ve tried so many different ways to get it to work. I also received a solid red screen, and have also seen a red screen with some sort of background image, I don’t remember what it was and I can no longer get the red screen or red with background image or white with rainbow barcode to display.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have created a vorpx troubleshoot.zip file. Do you want me to send it to you?

Never mind! It’s all good now and running better than before too.
I have disabled ovrservice and, more importantly, remembered to start steamvr BEFORE vorpx. Then start Fallout4. :)

Am having same issue with FOV. When in game I hit console command and type in FOV 120 it looks fantastic. When I close command console it zooms the view back in and resets. I tried using the refreshini command but it still zooms in. Any suggestions?

    Ah I remember this now!

Raf, Fallout 4 is for some reason not pickling up the FOV 120 from the ini. and you need to enter this into the console each time you play the game. I remember this from using this on the DK2

Issues That May Arise With Fallout 4

Problem: FOV is still quite crap.

Solution: Try changing FOV through console. When in-game, press “~” key and type “fov 140” (without quotes). That will make your FOV good, but when you close the console, background goes back to zoomed in. To fix this, go back to console and type “refreshini” (without quotes).

Personal I like FOV of 140 and Letter Box 2 in Vorpx settings. Still has a semi zoom in feel though. Another thing that sucks is the VR sickness from spinning around and moving so fast with out your actual body doing it. I though I was over that but I guess I’m not.

You need to enable SteamVR. vorpX only works when SteamVR is running. If it already is running, please try to restart it.

Thanks for the reply, Yeah I actually just realised that. There was nothing in the documents that said I had to run steamvr first and I was confused because steamvr still says its launching in theater mode so I thought it wasnt it.

Anyway, enjoying some of it so far and some of it I guess I havent figured out yet

    I had a few other questions…

I tried fallout 4, I ran the setup and optimized it, I also checked the ini file to make sure the fov and stuff was set.

The game still seems weird on the zoom, and most of the hud is not even visable, I checked the fov and its set to 120.

It locks it to 1280×720 and theres no option for 1080×1200 or whatever its supposed to be in that popup that warns me about it.

Also why does it cap me at 45 fps reprojected? The lagg makes me kinda dizzy, I’m running a 980 ti, 5930k, and 32gb of ram, everything overclocked super high water cooled, and I only get 45fps on medium settings? I can get 90+ fps in any VR game that I play
