senoctarParticipantThere is a list on PCGamingWiki with Native 3D support https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Glossary:Native_3D. Of course it’s not comprehensive, you might notice Avatar and Far Cry 2 are not there.
Of the 37 games, 16 have vorpX profiles (based on the data that you are probably filling in on the wiki). At least Shadow of the Tomb Raider is SBS in the official vorpX profile.
I used SOTR profile to hook into other DX11 games supporting SBS. Now it should be possible for older DX9 based on the Avatar profile.Feb 21, 2021 at 10:10am #200629In reply to: Far Cry 3 + 4 not working with newest vorpx
markus3776Participantyesterday i tried Far cry 3 and 4 again and it worked fine again. I don’t know what the reason was that it didn’t work anymore, but it was definitely not vorpx.

markus3776ParticipantI assume the config file of Far Cry 3 is gameprofile.xml in Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3. The parameter Refresh Rate is already set to 0 for me.

markus3776ParticipantI tried several different things yesterday:
– virus scanner, afterburner etc. deactivated
– Vorpx factory reset
– downloaded the far cry 4 (vorpx) profile
– Far cry 3 +4 windowed modeUnfortunately without success. With Far Cry 3 +4 it takes a long time with vorpx until the main menu appears. With Far Cry 4 I gave up after 20 minutes. Far Cry 3 quits immediately when a save game is loaded. @ vintager: I don’t have the steam version. I have to start it through Ubisoft Connect.
I didn’t tried to set the refresh rate to 0 (have forgot it). I will try that this evening.
Then I have to play Arma 3. That works perfectly.Dec 27, 2020 at 5:33pm #199241In reply to: Far Cry 3 + 4 not working with newest vorpx
markus3776Participantafter waiting for about 8 minutes (Far Cry 3 logo on screen, Hook Helper apears and Í selected “do nothing”) the loading screen came up. When I selected Continue from the main menu, I ended up back in Steam Home. I can play Kingdome Come, Crysis 3, Arma 3 and various other games without any problems. So I can hardly imagine that my AV software is the reason. Nevertheless, I will try to disable the AV software.
Very sad because I played mainly Far Cry 3.
@Ralf: I will try the Far Cry 4 profile when I get a chance.Dec 27, 2020 at 10:55am #199228In reply to: Far Cry 3 + 4 not working with newest vorpx
RalfKeymaster@ markus: You shouldn’t have to do any of the above. Far Cry 3 should hook right away without any problems, FC4 has the good old occasional black screen issue when switching to the first menu screen, which can be circumvented by running the game windowed and if necessary trying a few times. Unfortunately I was never able to reliably reproduce that here.
If you use any other AV program than Windows Defender, please first and foremost try to remove it entirely for testing purposes. Adding an exception to the actual scanner portion may not be enough. Some more invasive AV programs can’t really be fully disabled unless you remove them. Since your issue started to occur recently seemingly out of the blue, it’s quite likely that it is caused by an AV program. There is no risk involved in removing invasive third party AV on Windows 10, which has a built in AV solution that is more than good enough for several years now.

vintagerParticipantHi markus,
FC3/4 integration is broken–this has already been reported by multiple people. Don’t expect any support from the developer though, the only thing you’ll get will be quotes from the manual and subtle hints that you or your system are at fault.
The first thing you need to know is that for FC3/4, it will take an insane amount of time to hook; I’m talking 5 minutes at least. You just have to be patient.
Then, after Vorpx updates the config, you have to kill the game and manually update the config file, setting the refresh rate to 0. Follow the directions from this post:

markus3776ParticipantHi Ralf,
thanks for your reply. I’ve already tried to install the hook helper. It asked what kind of directx version game it is. After choosing DirectX 10/11 a success dialog appears but the game won’t start. All I see is the Far Cry 3 logo an the screen. Two things changed since the last time I played Far Cry:
– I use the HP Reverb G2 with WMR Portal
– a new vorpx version was installed
Does ist work for you? Maybe you can try this out when you get a chance. It is not so urgent. Enjoy Christmas DayDec 26, 2020 at 5:02pm #199184Topic: Far Cry 3 + 4 not working with newest vorpx
in forum Technical Support
markus3776Participantfirst of all, merry christmas to all.
I don’t know exactly if the problem is with me but since the latest vorpx update Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 no longer works. The games do not start when vorpx is active. Works fine without vorpx. Maybe it’s also because of my new HP Reverb G2.
I always played with the Pimax 8k+ before. A few weeks ago everything still worked. Kingdome Come, F1 2019 and ARMA 3 work fine.
I would also like to thank Ralf for the great piece of software. I have been using vorpx since the DK2 time. Was the best purchase I have ever madeDec 23, 2020 at 4:58pm #199070In reply to: Cyberpunk 2077
SairaiParticipantI have tested both the Steam and the GoG version for several hours now and am confident to say that there are no crash conditions in conjunction with using vorpX. The only vorpX related crash condition was a conflict on AMD Radeon cards in some nVidia code the game uses, which apparently does something else on AMD GPUs than it does on nVidia GPUs. That has been fixed with yesterday’s update.
The best advice I can give you is resetting the profile to default in the vorpX config app, using the latest GPU drivers, not cranking everything up to max in the game’s graphics options and checking for potential conflicts with interfering background apps on your PC that also hook into games.
Just in case: if you happen to overclock anything in your PC, try with default clock rates.
Hi guys,
I definitely have a VorpX related crash condition since the update to 21.1.1.
My Cyberpunk profile includes the following:
– Cinema Mode, curved with ambient background, no AA
– Custom resolution ingame wqhd 2516 x 1440, ingame settings all maxed out
– No 3D, Crystal clear: normal
– Removed hud scaling from default profile: Set scaling to 1:1
– VorpX may not change any game settings (didn’t work any better with this option enabled and I prefer having full control on my own)My hardware scenario:
– 3 monitors with 1920 x 1200 resolution (thus needed to use custom resolution for wqhd support)
– Valve Index HMD
– RTX 3090 (support for maximum raytracing and dlss on)
– i7 5820k 6x 3,8Ghz HT 12 Threads
– GPU no OC
– CPU stable OC ~8% (for years already)Now when I launch Cyberpunk it seems like I have a 30% chance that the game does not crash after displaying the CD Project Red Logo. I wasn’t able to find the root cause so far. Tried different vorpX settings, different hooking and stuff but to be honest, I just want to play and don’t want to waste my time with troubleshooting atm.
If it does not crash right before start screen, everything runs perfectly fine and I can play for hours without any issues.
The game never crashes when I reset the profile to default. I am able to setup all my preferences in this session and can also play without any issues but of course this is very annoying in front of every gaming session because after closing and restarting the game, the same issue reappears. It most likely has something to do with my custom resolution or the VorpX PoV changes. The whole part with ingame resolution (VorpX resolution settings) was changed with this update and maybe there is some sort of bug with custom resolutions? All I know is that this issue immediately appeared right after updating to 21.1.1 and never appeared before.
The game also never crashes during startup when I am running it without VorpX.
Hope this information can help you identifying the issue.Kind regards,

in forum Game Hints and Settings
bagaboooParticipantHello,
I seen some topics on my search in regards to independent movement of the head vs gun. Some was saying this can only be done in ARMA III. (topics from like 2019)
Is there a tutorial on how this can be done? I saw mentions of like track IR etc.
And what’s the latest on this? I initially tried to play Far Cry 5, which had both head and gun combined. (I though because of imported profile).
Then I tried Crysis 3, with same results.
Is there any workarounds, did anyone manage to get the head and gun move independently, or better even, bind the gun to the hand controllers (I`m using Reverb G2). I found a demo that came with the WMR app, I think it was Halo or something, that had the guns binded to the controller – that was very impressive.
Nov 29, 2020 at 5:02pm #198112In reply to: Far Cry 4 black screen
vintagerParticipantOkay, so after two days of straight f**king with the game’s, Steam’s, Uplay’s, and Vorpx’s settings, I’ve figured out the problem, the reason behind it, and the solution.
Why it took me so long: there’s not one, but two issues at play here. One is hampering Vorpx and causing the black screen, another is directly caused by Vorpx itself. Because of that, it’s difficult to figure out what’s happening.
ISSUE #1 (THE SECONDARY ONE)
(At least in the Steam version of the game,) Vorpx’s injector messes up with FC4’s loading process.Because of that, loading takes ~5 minutes instead of ~20 seconds, and the game will freeze on “Login succeeded.” You’ll need to patiently wait until it unfreezes and displays the “Cannot reach Far Cry 4 servers” message. After that, you won’t be able to play online.
This issue will persist even if you solve Issue #2.
PARTIAL SOLUTION: obviously, to prevent Vorpx from f**king up the loading process. To achieve that, pause the Vorpx’s Watcher, start the game, wait until the Ubisoft logo comes up, resume the Watcher. The loading process will take the usual 20 seconds, and you will be able to play online, but Geometry3D will remain disabled, and the game will give you a light vertigo.
ISSUE #2 (THE PRIMARY ONE)
If you change FC4’s graphics settings via the in-game menu, FC4 WILL SET THE REFRESH RATE TO 60. THIS WILL CAUSE THE BLACK SCREEN EVERY TIME YOU’LL TRY STARTING THE GAME.This is why somebody in this thread had suggested deleting all the files from the MyGames folder: if you do that, the refresh rate will revert back to 0.
SOLUTION: Start the game with Vorpx, kill it or exit it properly, go to c:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\[uuid]\, and update both GamerProfile.xml.vorpxbak and GamerProfile.xml, setting RefreshRate=”0″.

Jul 29, 2020 at 12:17pm #196248In reply to: Metro 2033 redux series
cercataParticipantI reinstaled Metro 2033 to try reproduce the problem, and send the savegame, and after reinstall, it worked on the first try the DirectVR Scan.
Now I’m having the problem with Far Cry 2, I have tryed manu times, with different settings, reverted the profile and game settings to the original again, even reinstalling the game.
I suspect it’s something in my computer that sometimes avoids VorpX from modifying the memory positions for DirectVR rotation …
Jun 21, 2020 at 7:04pm #195540In reply to: Far Cry 4 black screen
RalfKeymasterIncidentally I had this for the first time ever yesterday while checking Far Cry 4 for other reasons. First it showed in the headset, then it looked as if the game changed the display size during init whithout vorpX being able to catch that change and adjust as it normally would and I got a back screen in the headset. Very odd. Next launch went well again though.
I’ll take a closer look at the game at some later point. For now I would second matteo39, trying multiple times might/should help. Also running the game windowed instead of fullscreen might be worth a shot if my above theory is right.
