Make sure you are using Exclusive Fullscreen.
Just tested my Mankind Divided, working great still. Without Exclusive Fullscreen I get no z-buffer. I turn it back to exclusive, and bingo, 3D’s back.
This happens with hitman and a few other games too. If that doesn’t do it, try changing the AA settings and resolution.
FC5 base game still working fine also. Never tried the dlc though.
edit: I tried switching between fullscreen and borderless in FC5, and it did go flat at one point. But changing resolution seemed to fix it. Just try fiddling with it some. And make sure you have Farcry5.exe assigned to the profile, that it’s not just hooking with the default 2D one.
Judder: please check whether you have made any changes to the sync options on the display page of the ingame menu. If so, revert them. Changing “Direct Mode GPU Sync” to anything else than “Safe” for example almost certainly causes judder in more demanding games. Same for turning off “Direct Mode Async Render” if the framerate falls below 45fps.
I cannot replicate your Mankeind Divided issue this time. The only recent change to the Mankind Divided profile has been made after you reported it not working last time. I switched it to the new z-buffer search method then, and you reported it working afterwards. No changes have been made since then.
First please reset the profile to its default settings in the config app and check whether the issue also appears with defaults for you. Most importantly please make sure that you didn’t disable Direct VR settings optimization. If the issue still appears with default settings, please send me a savegame to support |at| vorpx com. Maybe that helps to replicate your issue.
Before you do that, please double check whether you maybe have changed any game settings since you played last time or forced antialising on in your graphics driver control panel.
In general the rule still applies that unfortunately in some games that change the z-buffer texture frequently, which is the case here, tracking it might not always be reliable. If I can’t find anything, I’ll have to remove the profile this time. Too much time invested into it already considering that the game is not overly popular, sorry. Only didn’t do that last time because you asked not to do it.
Can’t really say anything in regard to Far Cry 5 apart from that it isn’t supported. That won’t change until there is a way to hook into the game without breaking its anticheat.
So since the last update, Mankind Divided no longer shows in 3D at all. I re-imported the profile, etc, but still nothing.
If this is a simple profile fix, any chance you could upload a new one for this?
And a couple of observations:
1) I’ve been noticing (sometime over the last 2 updates) that in cinema mode, there is a lot more screen judder when you move your head. I even upgraded to a 1080ti recently, and the judder is worse than ever. If I keep my head still, games are still very playable, but its weird because it was never there before. I think something in the last few updates caused this. Its not terrible, just noticable, and only on head movement. The framerates of the games seem great.
2) Far cry 5 used to have 3d as well, and now does not. I know its not officially supported, but I thought I’d mention it in case it helps with your troubleshooting.
Far Cry 5 will likely never get official support, unless one day EasyAntiCheat adds vorpX to the whitelist. As it is now, vorpX is being blocked by the game, and can only work by using questionable cheat trainer software. Quite unfortunate.
On the other hand, Battlefield V is very likely to get support (including G3D thanks the coming frostbite update), providing that EA doesn’t sneak in some aggressive anticheat this time around. Doubtful they will. At least the betas didn’t have any, and I was able to play fine with vorpX.
Is far cry 5 supported now?
will battlefield 5 be supported?
we must hope that no anticheat will be introduced that will block vorpx …
p.s.
far cry 5 if I’m not mistaken is not yet playable for this reason
If you mean how the fov inside the vehicles feels way too zoomed in, Far Cry 5 is the same way. Vehicle/weapon/hand models seem to be fov locked, independent of world fov changes. Not sure anything can be done about this.
Best way I found to deal with it was to zoom the screen out until it felt more comfortable behind the steering wheel. This works best with immersive screen fully zoomed out to 1.00, or cinema mode around -0.15. Yeah you’ll see some bars on top and bottom of screen, but it can still be a neat 3D experience.
Speaking of 3D though…
@ Ralf: my brief testing in FC4 tonight showed Geometry no longer working. Pretty sure it used to work pre update.
Z3D works, but it’s having the exact problem I noticed with FC5 – ground textures are failing to load properly. I suspect this for all dx11 Dunia profiles. Something a simple tweak might fix?
@ all (most): Thanks for the kind words.
@ moarveer: Bioshock Remastered is a rather odd case technically unfortunately due to the way they did the DX9>DX11 conversion. As soon as I have an idea to tackle this in a decent manner, the game will be added, but I can’t promise anything. Currently it’s too glitchy.
@ nieda: FYI: About 90% of official profiles have G3D now. For AC:Odyssey you would need a GTX4080Ti (sic!) for G3D, not even AC:Unity G3D runs exactly great on current hardware. Far Cry 5: anticheat prevents vorpX from hooking as discussed multiple times here.
@ dborosev: AC:Odyssey Z3D base parameters have been adjusted to look more realistic. In Origins elements nearby looked extremely large and then got too small too quickly in the distance. This is more balanced now. You can however play around with the near/far option like dellrifter suggested if you prefer something else.
@ dellrifter22: no changes to the way Image Zoom is used. Only remotely related change is that in immersive screen mode a higher FOV is set if vorpX can adjust it. But that only affects immersive screen mode and there it has the opposite effect of what you describe. I’ll double check to be extra sure.
@ OculusRiftRocks: native 3D means that the game has its own SBS stereo mode. What the vorpX profile does is automatically setting the game options to utilize it. You could do the same with Crysis 2/3, but those had indeed a depth buffer based approach. Crysis 3 with vorpX G3D is superior.
Mafia 3,G3D, assassins creed origins, G3d, Dying light , G3D,Farcry 5, G3D…..???????
are affermations, or questions? :)
Mafia 3,G3D, assassins creed origins, G3d, Dying light , G3D,Farcry 5, G3D…..???????
Just about to dive hard into Odyssey, but did a bit of profiles testing first and I’ve discovered a couple things so far.
Image zoom seems to have been loosened some for Fullvr mode, whereby now many of my former custom profiles seem to be zoomed in too close by ~0.10 points. Say I had set something like 0.88 for fov purposes, now would need to be lowered to ~0.78 to correct.
Not sure if this was intentional, but could potentially cause a problem for existing profiles already on the cloud.
Another brief thing I noticed was Z-normal having some trouble with texture loading in a couple games I tried (Far Cry 5 and War of Rights) that did not have this problem before. Like all black textures, or very low res textures.
Strangely, If i switched to G3D the textures load in. But back to Z3D, and they go black again. Some heavy changes made to the way dx11 Z3D works now?
Any thoughts on why this could be happening?
War of Rights is a game I’d like to introduce as an immersive vorpX experience, later this year when it releases in Early Access. Over the summer’s Alpha phase, I’ve had it successfully running Z3D on the Kingdom Come Deliverance profile. Now it’s all black textures. I know KCD got an update fix, could this be related? If so, is there an option to revive the old method, or provide a CryEngine 5 profile alternative?
Still need to test some more games, but pretty anxious to play some Odyssey tonight :)
Oh and the Shader Authoring looks neat, only fooled around with it for a minute, realizing I have some new stuff to learn haha. Thanks again Ralf!
EAC will stop you from hooking to start with. If you’re getting the image in the headset, it’s not likely EAC that is hindering your 3D.
Double check you have the right profile in your list and it’s linked to the exe.
If you still suspect EAC, all I can say is revisit the outdated Far Cry 5 threads already on here and google for update changes ;)
Hey Delrifter,
Do you still have Far Cry 5 working? Ever since the EAC bypass broke, and I updated to version 1.9, the Z3D has gone bye-bye.
See here. Basically, Ralf can’t do anything unless Ubisoft whitelists vorpX in its anticheat thing, which we all know is never going to happen.
for far cry 5 ( there is a topic in the general discussions), a user sent an email to the site of the “anticheat” program, and they said they whitelisted the vorpx for far cry 5!
Is farcry 5 supported with vorpx now??
