@Ralf, in the official profiles for Far Cry 3 (z3d) and Watch Dogs (z3d), the 3d depht option is set way too far, even on the lowest(nearest) value, which is 0.5. This makes medium and far distance objects extra small and weirdly looking, and there is no 3d in the middle to close distance from the character(in full vr and immersive screen too). I’m saying that because in the other far cry profiles(for example far cry 4 and 5) and watch dogs 2, this setting is perfectly fine and balanced. Maybe nobody cares about z3d in these games, but g3d runs extra stuttery on my pc. Pls Is there a way you can edit that option in these profiles to make so that the 3d depht can get closer ( like it does in the other profiles, also in all other game profiles I tried so far)? thanks

hi, I want to ask if its possible to assign the FAR CRY 3 executable to the profile for FAR CRY 4, because the FAR CRY 3 profile (with z3d) has a depht 3d setting which puts the 3d depht too far(even on the nearest value), so objects in the middle and far distance are looking way too small and unrealistic, also the 3d its just on the far objects, not around the player, I tried every combination of settings, but the problem for me is this. Since FAR CRY 4 and 5 give a much closer 3d when set closer, I thought if possible assign that profile to FAR CRY 3? I tried but it wont let me do that, how to do that?

Hi, seems to depend on the game , maybe due to their render engine they restrict it ingame who knows ? whats about far cry 4 does it work there ?

I just tried Far Cry 4, and yes it works. Was able to play in 2560×1440.

    Hi guys,

I was hoping to clarify a few things about custom resolutions. Despite inputting all the recommended ones from the vorpx configuration panel, some games still refuse to show them as an option.

For example, in the Far Cry 5, post by @dellrifter22 here…

    Far Cry 5 (G3D)

…the recommended resolution is 16:9 (2560×1440). But after adding the res to my Nvidia settings, the game still won’t go higher than 1920×1090.

What could be the reasons for this?

I would like to request this feature too. Here’s why.

    (I’m using keyboard + mouse).

The issue I am having is in Far Cry 5, but I’d imagine it’s fairly general.

When I bring up the Far Cry 5 map, it’s a full screen overlay so I switch to edgepeek mode so I can read it. That works fine.

The problem is when I move my head to read the text in the corners of the screen, the mouse cursor moves with my head movement. That makes it nearly impossible to read text that only appears when you hover over something with the cursor, as the hover text disappears as soon as you move your head to read it due to the mouse cursor moving with your head in Head Tracking mode.

If there was a way to map Head Tracking mode (on / off) to a button, I’d use it alongside edge-peek and everything would work great.

    Hi markus,

FC3/4 integration is broken–this has already been reported by multiple people. Don’t expect any support from the developer though, the only thing you’ll get will be quotes from the manual and subtle hints that you or your system are at fault.

The first thing you need to know is that for FC3/4, it will take an insane amount of time to hook; I’m talking 5 minutes at least. You just have to be patient.

Then, after Vorpx updates the config, you have to kill the game and manually update the config file, setting the refresh rate to 0. Follow the directions from this post:

I have tested both the Steam and the GoG version for several hours now and am confident to say that there are no crash conditions in conjunction with using vorpX. The only vorpX related crash condition was a conflict on AMD Radeon cards in some nVidia code the game uses, which apparently does something else on AMD GPUs than it does on nVidia GPUs. That has been fixed with yesterday’s update.

The best advice I can give you is resetting the profile to default in the vorpX config app, using the latest GPU drivers, not cranking everything up to max in the game’s graphics options and checking for potential conflicts with interfering background apps on your PC that also hook into games.

Just in case: if you happen to overclock anything in your PC, try with default clock rates.

    Hi guys,

I definitely have a VorpX related crash condition since the update to 21.1.1.
My Cyberpunk profile includes the following:
    – Cinema Mode, curved with ambient background, no AA
    – Custom resolution ingame wqhd 2516 x 1440, ingame settings all maxed out
    – No 3D, Crystal clear: normal
    – Removed hud scaling from default profile: Set scaling to 1:1
    – VorpX may not change any game settings (didn’t work any better with this option enabled and I prefer having full control on my own)

    My hardware scenario:
    – 3 monitors with 1920 x 1200 resolution (thus needed to use custom resolution for wqhd support)
    – Valve Index HMD
    – RTX 3090 (support for maximum raytracing and dlss on)
    – i7 5820k 6x 3,8Ghz HT 12 Threads
    – GPU no OC
    – CPU stable OC ~8% (for years already)

Now when I launch Cyberpunk it seems like I have a 30% chance that the game does not crash after displaying the CD Project Red Logo. I wasn’t able to find the root cause so far. Tried different vorpX settings, different hooking and stuff but to be honest, I just want to play and don’t want to waste my time with troubleshooting atm.

If it does not crash right before start screen, everything runs perfectly fine and I can play for hours without any issues.
The game never crashes when I reset the profile to default. I am able to setup all my preferences in this session and can also play without any issues but of course this is very annoying in front of every gaming session because after closing and restarting the game, the same issue reappears.

It most likely has something to do with my custom resolution or the VorpX PoV changes. The whole part with ingame resolution (VorpX resolution settings) was changed with this update and maybe there is some sort of bug with custom resolutions? All I know is that this issue immediately appeared right after updating to 21.1.1 and never appeared before.

The game also never crashes during startup when I am running it without VorpX.
Hope this information can help you identifying the issue.

    Kind regards,
    Sairai

    Hello,

I seen some topics on my search in regards to independent movement of the head vs gun. Some was saying this can only be done in ARMA III. (topics from like 2019)

Is there a tutorial on how this can be done? I saw mentions of like track IR etc.

And what’s the latest on this? I initially tried to play Far Cry 5, which had both head and gun combined. (I though because of imported profile).

Then I tried Crysis 3, with same results.

Is there any workarounds, did anyone manage to get the head and gun move independently, or better even, bind the gun to the hand controllers (I`m using Reverb G2). I found a demo that came with the WMR app, I think it was Halo or something, that had the guns binded to the controller – that was very impressive.

Okay, so after two days of straight f**king with the game’s, Steam’s, Uplay’s, and Vorpx’s settings, I’ve figured out the problem, the reason behind it, and the solution.

Why it took me so long: there’s not one, but two issues at play here. One is hampering Vorpx and causing the black screen, another is directly caused by Vorpx itself. Because of that, it’s difficult to figure out what’s happening.

    ISSUE #1 (THE SECONDARY ONE)
(At least in the Steam version of the game,) Vorpx’s injector messes up with FC4’s loading process.

Because of that, loading takes ~5 minutes instead of ~20 seconds, and the game will freeze on “Login succeeded.” You’ll need to patiently wait until it unfreezes and displays the “Cannot reach Far Cry 4 servers” message. After that, you won’t be able to play online.

This issue will persist even if you solve Issue #2.

PARTIAL SOLUTION: obviously, to prevent Vorpx from f**king up the loading process. To achieve that, pause the Vorpx’s Watcher, start the game, wait until the Ubisoft logo comes up, resume the Watcher. The loading process will take the usual 20 seconds, and you will be able to play online, but Geometry3D will remain disabled, and the game will give you a light vertigo.

    ISSUE #2 (THE PRIMARY ONE)
If you change FC4’s graphics settings via the in-game menu, FC4 WILL SET THE REFRESH RATE TO 60. THIS WILL CAUSE THE BLACK SCREEN EVERY TIME YOU’LL TRY STARTING THE GAME.

This is why somebody in this thread had suggested deleting all the files from the MyGames folder: if you do that, the refresh rate will revert back to 0.

SOLUTION: Start the game with Vorpx, kill it or exit it properly, go to c:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\[uuid]\, and update both GamerProfile.xml.vorpxbak and GamerProfile.xml, setting RefreshRate=”0″.

We just went past 852, good question, this has never been asked IIRC. Such information if available is either stored in the cloud profile subtext or you may find it in the official list (for official games).

It should be easy though to guess which game is Full VR and which not. Example Far Cry 1 -> Full VR , Trine ->Cinema Modes, etc.

Wow! I try to push my Z3D games to 6k if I can which looks very sharp in the Reverb, but definitely taxes my GPU. Would be amazing to to see my sub 30fps hitting closer to 40. I’m excited to test this with AC Odyssey and RDR2.

I’m not sure what voodoo you are conjuring, those gains seem like they would out perform my 2D monitor play even. And no side effects so far? What gives?

Also great news for me if CryEngine 5 sees a similar boost you are seeing with CE3. Up to 25% G3D? Exciting.

    i’ve found this post:

hat’s a nice trick. Thanks a lot man, I tried every other possible solution to launch Far Cry 4 with VorpX and it crashed at start-up every time. Disabled Uplay overlay, gone offline, disable Steam overlay, MSI afterburner, antivirus, everything…VorpX desktop shortcut for better hook chance…nothing worked. I almost gave up, re-enabled all overlays and tried your solution, resuming Watcher after the loading bar passed 50%…VorpX hooked, launched campaign, tweaked settings for perfect image…works flawlessly.

Also I might add that Far Cry 4 is a good game to be played with VorpX:
    – minimum zoomed-in effect due to high FOV setting, especially combined with Letterbox 2
    – very well optimized, runs great oh high settings
    – visible HUD in-game on DK2 thanks to VorpX’s Game Settings optimizer for Far Cry 4
    – very nice experience with driving, gliding, combat
    – great graphics, atmosphere, physics…it’s a Far Cry game after all

Can we start a good list of coop games which work well with VorpX? I know a person or two who would love to play some coop games (but doesn’t own VorpX yet), but I’m not sure which ones have things like EAC which disallows coop play with VorpX.
    Anyone vouch for these:
    – Far Cry 5??
    – Deep Rock Galactic?
    – Conan Exiles?
    – 7 Days to die
    – ….?

Sea of Thieves and Green Hell… both of them with cloud profiles

    Far Cry New Dawn (G3D)

Like the Experimental G3D profile I did for Far Cry 5, this one too is still work-in-progress experimental with some lighting and terrain artifacts remaining. It’s not the prettiest, but it is functional for anyone wanting to try it.

I used a Viewmodel FOV Mod this time to make for a better FullVR view, I only wish it applied to driving vehicles as well.

Get the mod from nexus here, choose the FOV 90 one, and follow the installation instructions on the description page.

    – install the Viewmodel FOV 90 mod
    – use a 16:9 resolution (2560×1440, 3072×1728 good for Reverb)
    – set FOV to max 120 in advanced video settings
    – set all graphics to Low, motion blur Off, but TAA and HD textures On
    – set reticle to Centered in gameplay settings

    *Adjustable HUD
    *Edgepeek for better vehicle driving
*Hide all shadows with G3D Shadow Treatment
*Tested on HP Reverb with mouse and keyboard
