often I find myself having to use the z-normal instead of the g3d (I have a 1060 gtx): for example in mass effect andromeda, to have a good fluidity, I’m using the z-normal ..
but I have not yet understood the difference between z-normal and z-adaptive: the z-adaptive seems to me identical to the z-normal, except that the view is not perfectly in focus..
what is the difference? maybe i must set something for z-adaptive, to see all clear…
A couple of these games are deep discount on Origin now through Jan29th. Mass Effect Andromeda and Star Wars Battlefront 2 are each under $5.
Same goes for Dragon Age Inquisition, Titanfall 2, and most of the Battlefield games
Is there a new profile for Titanfall 2? The original was pretty bad–no depth at all between your gun and the background, for instance–if this got fixed I’d be psyched to play it.

Good timing for profile updates, thanks Ralf. Finally off work, time to play 😁
@ RJK: official Frostbite profiles with G3D (vorpX 19.1.0): Battlefield 3/4, SW:Battlefront II (2017), Need for Speed Rivals, Mass Effect Andromeda.
The rest of the official Frostbite profiles will follow shortly.
BTW: If you don’t want to risk any of your profiles becoming incompatible for other users, I strongly urge you to update to 19.1.0. While great care is taken to ensure profile backwards compatibility, I can’t guarantee it 100% this time unfortunately. The vast majority will still work fine, but A LOT has changed behind the scenes. So there might be a few edge cases where 19.1.0 behaves differently with older profiles.
i’ve tried mass effect andromeda, has a good z3d but not perfect: i’ve used a 1st person mod.
good!
i’ll use first person mod for mass effect andromeda (same engine)
next vorpx version awaited as the messiah! ahahah! (g3d for prey, mass effect andromeda etc)
I would like to play during these Christmas holidays to Prey and Mass effect andromeda (I have never played them) via Vorpx, which currently offers z-normal for Frostbite 3.
Ralf, if you give me some hope that for Christmas could come the g3d for the frostbite 3, I wait a while, otherwise i start them right away! :) thanks for your patience
this is for ralf: PLEASE, FROSTBITE 3 G3D! (prey, mass effect andromeda , mirror’s edge 2 …) :)
thank you for your support, Ralf! :)
p.s.if there will be the ‘g3d’ for frostibite 3 (prey, mass effect andromeda etc.) by the end of the year, I will apply you for the nobel to science! haha :)
Usually I don’t really talk about what is going on development wise, but this is worth mentioning:
Some of you may have been wondering why the f*** there aren’t any recent Frostbite engine games (almost all newer EA titles) with Geometry 3D. Well, the simple and not exactly flattering reason is that for a long time I couldn’t come up with a G3D implementation for a rarely used Direct3D 11.1 feature this engine uses extensively. At least not without completely destroying performance.
Until today.
Not only does it work beautifully now, it’s also faster than I could have hoped for. Overall less than 50% G3D performance impact without rendering to a headset, so probably only a little bit more than 50% eventually.
So far only one game has been tested (Mass Effect: Andromeda), but if nothing unforeseen happens, this finally should allow G3D for most newer Frostbite games including Battlefield 4 and newer, SW: Battlefront, Dragon Age: Inquisition etc. Stay tuned.
Even though its only Z3D and not G3D, its still very good. Out in large spaces like the planets, its almost impossible to tell the difference. I think this game got way too harsh reviews because of the many bugs it had on launch. But its a pretty damn good game now.
Loving it so far! Only wish I had more time to play.
@ matteo : Mass Effect Andromeda uses a newer Forstbite version, which vorpX currently does not support in G3D mode. One of the things that will be looked into shortly, but I can’t promise anything.
can i use this to have g3d in mass effect andromeda?
i took a couple a 360 shots from final fantasy xv and mass effect andromeda here is a link if u want too check it out https://phantomroro.deviantart.com/
