Do the games you mention work in the other driver at all? Maybe you want to try Mass Effect 2 and 3 or The Witcher 2 in regard to HUD scaling or one of the many other games that have this feature.

I grant you the benefit of the doubt one last time before I finally will assume that you are simply trolling here for whatever reason.

Since we accidentally compared programs so much here, which I normally do not do, please allow me to repeat a few “little” things vorpX does more than others, in case someone stumbles upon this and takes what you say for granted.

    – Two 3D modes in many games to either prefer speed or 3D quality
    – Four or five times as many games supported
    – DX9, DX10, DX11 instead of just DX9
    – The new Virtual Cinema Mode for all three APIs, allowing you to play almost any DX9-DX11 game in your Rift
    – Quite a bit better performance in important tiles like Skyrim

HUD scaling is not available for Bioshock Infinite, The Witcher or Mass Effect, which are the games I played the most and with the new driver and I think this feature is new (correct me if im false again), which may be why I didn´t found it in other games that I tweaked a while ago.

The fisheye effect is present for me regardless wich settings I use (also the default ones) and it may be not the distortion you think I mean, its a slight stretching when I move my head and its also noticeable in vireio, but much weaker, thats why it doesn´t bother me there and it´s not existant in Oculus Demos.
I didnt found a fix for that.

A tool to help finding the right depth isnt implemented either, you can change the depth, but don´t know if it is the right.

The latency enhancement is there, I never said its not, but it doesnt help against my motion sickness, so it´s useless for me.

And I never said, that you could`t tweak the head tracking in the VorpX menu, but its still nearly impossible to make it work perfekt (and I mean perfect), this could by seperating head tracking and mouse movement, which hasn´t been done.

    So much to

There is however not a single point you mention that vorpX does not address one way or the other.

I have no troubles working vorpx with Steam:
    Borderlands 2
    Borderlands Pre-Sequel
    Chivalry
    DCS World
    F1 2012 (needs open track)
    F1 2014 (needs open track)
    Far Cry 4
    GTAIV
    Metro 2033
    Mirrors Edge
    Portal 2
    Outlast
    Skyrim
    Wolfenstein

    Alien Isolation (mod game file)
Test Drive Unlimited 2 (have 3D but no head tracking)

I also have the Mass Effect trilogy and Alan Wake but I haven’t tried those games yet. Except for the games marked, all work with vorpx’s head tracking.

    Hello,
I’m new to Rift DK2 and how to drive it

so far I did not encounter any Vorpx problem with these games:

    Mirror’s Edge
    Call Of Prypiat
    Dishonored
    Arma series
    Metro Redux
    Outlast
    Thief2014

while (settings to default and monitor to Dk2):

    – Mass Effect 3 won’t activate the DK2
    – Portal 2 crashes to desktop as soon as it reaches the main interface, – although activating the DK2
    – Skyrim won’t activate the Dk2 and crashes to desktop

I’ve tried to follow the troubleshooting section suggestions, with no results

    any hints?

    thanks

I found a work around by running oculus off of a separate card. (I had stopped using both GPUs because I wasn’t sure if it would cause issues). Only issue is that some games that are claimed to be supported by vorpx have issues like invisible cursor (mass effect 3) or unable to bring up DEL menu (fallout new vegas) and nearly all of them don’t allow you to quite see the entire screen even with the setting zoomed all the way out. Disappointing to say the least.

Ok, so i only managed to find one other post relevant to mass effect 3 and it is fairly outdated at this point. When playing ME3 I am able to use head tracking and click the mouse wheel to zoom out. But, the Vorpx menu does not show up and I cannot see my mouse cursor and none of the keys work. So, I cannot actually get past the menu of the game. Now the game is supported by Vorpx, and I have seen videos of people playing it so i am a little confused. Further research showed that to effectively play ME1, one had to go into the config and ‘enable hardware cursor’, otherwise there would be no cursor or Vorpx menu. But, ME3 has no such option in the config files, so I am somewhat lost. Any advice ?

    In …\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect\Config\ open BioEngine.ini
    Adjust the following:
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=75.000000
MinDesiredFrameRate=60.000000 //I found 60 to be the minimum to avoid discomfort, this also occurs in a few spots, so do a search for “framerate” without the quotes.

Launch the game in normal mode.
Set the Resolution to 1920×1080, look for the “double down” arrows to the right of the list.
Enable hardware cursor under input, if you don’t you won’t have the mouse cursor or the Vorpx menu.

I had bad issues with background flicker, and I mean bad.
So I set the 3D Rendering to Z-Adaptive, and enabled depth of field in the Vorpx menu.

The lighting in the game is a little strange, and there are some FOV settings in the BIOEngine.ini file that I should play with to bring in the edges of the game.

I’m pretty happy with this though, the game is comfortably playable with these settings.

Is there an official list of supported games?

I had found a spreadsheet on Reddit but I don’t think that is accurate because one game it listed as supported, Mass Effect 2, I was heartbroken to find does not work.

So is there an official list anywhere?

Regarding the hooking issues, please try to create a vorpX desktop shortcut (right click the vorpX tray icon, choose “Create Desktop Shortcut”, then navigate to your MassEffect3.exe.

Menus: You can also zoom the screen with [SHIFT] mousewheel. Alternatively or in addition to EdgePeek (click middle mouse button) that should solve all possible problems with menus.

Cursor: Normally vorpX shows its own cursor in ME3, since the game’s cursor can not be duplicated by vorpX. Please try to enable or disable the hardware cursor in the Mass Effect 3 options menu. It’s possible that the vorpX cursor only works with one of the options.

I’m trying to get Mass Effect 3 working with vorpx and the oculus rift.

I have the game on origin, and I am running it in offline mode.

Here are the issues I’m running into:

    1. While in the ME3 game I can not hit the Delete key to bring up the in game vorpx controls.

    2. The menus are extremely hard to use.
    – I do not see a mouse cursor, and it constantly resets it’s position.
    – If I manage to get lucky and find a button with the hidden mouse cursor before it resets its position, I can click it to navigate the menu. But some of them are extremely hard to find (the confirm dialogs are near impossible for me).
    – I can use the arrow keys to navigate (the game doesn’t seem to support keyboard ability to select an option though).

    Any advice?

Ok, I’ve had this issue in two games now, Condemned: Criminal Origins and Dark Souls.
First, I was very surprised to see how well Condemned worked even without 3D and no changeable FOV. Just when I was ready to play a bit, at one point in the game vorpx just stops doing it’s magic. The game just goes back to the normal 2D screen layout, and the vorpx overlay and zoom don’t work anymore.
Also had this with a brief try with Dark Souls.

On a “maybe” similar note, I’ve tried Mass Effect 3 and it works really well, except when my energy shield is depleted after taking too much damage, it explodes and suddenly it’s like seperation is set to 500. completely different viewing angles for both eyes. After a while when the shield starts regenerating, it goes back to normal.
