Topic: EyeCalibrationDashboard.exe
Hello,
I purchased VorpX yesterday, and I feel like I’m going to have a lot of fun with it!
I’m encountering a problem when trying to launch a game though. I’ll try a game like Resident Evil 7 and it’ll start, but right as I get on the menu screen, the game crashes. Back on the desktop, I get a window pop-up that says it failed attaching to EyeCalibrationDashboard.exe.
Any idea? Adding it to the exclude list doesn’t work.
I’m using a Vive Pro on Windows 10.
The xbox controller(wired) seems to work fine except for the left trigger. The left trigger (right click mouse) is to draw your weapon. It does draw the weapon but goes back and forth as if I’m letting go and repressing the button even though I’m holding the trigger. Outside of vorpx the controller works without issue in this game.
I then tried changing the controller from ‘full’ to ‘partial’ and ‘none’. Both partial and none solve the problem, but both introduce a new problem. If I am walking forward and look in any direction, the axis become flipped. So up is down, down is up. As soon as I stop walking, looking around behaves as normal.
I tried binding draw weapon to a new button in game, mapping right click button to a different key and changed it accordingly in vorpx, but the repressing issue remained.
I also tried the button press threshold (default 30) tried 0 to 100 but didn’t solve the issue.
A separate issue I have is I use adaptive 3d instead of geometry for performance issues. With adaptive 3d, tilting my head left or right tilts the whole world along with me, when it should stay level. Not sure if other games have this issue. This issue doesn’t happen in geometry mode.
Hey!
I thought that this could be interesting to get a better experience with RE2 and make it similar to RE7. I didn’t try it yet, I actually don’t own the game.. but I still wanted to share it, in case you guys find a way to use it in the proper way! Let me know!https://github.com/praydog/RE2-Mod-Framework
DL the latest dinput8.dll from AppVeyor. Extract dinput8.dll into your RE2 folder. Dump the github contents into the same folder. DON’T start a game with it “enabled” or it hangs on game load. You must enable it IN GAME, Press INSERT to toggle the menu.
Topic: RE 7 Technical doubt
Hello, I would like to express a concern and technical doubt that I have had for some time with this title.
Resident Evil 7 PC, does not have good support for resolutions with narrow ratio aspect, so it introduces some black bands.
The resolution suggested by Vorpx, can help, along with some option to mask a bit this, but logically it is not the most ideal, if we had other possibilities.
Taking into account the screens of our current headsets, this for me, is one of the main reasons that slow down and hinder an almost perfect complete fullVR support with Vorpx, since in turn they indirectly affect others, which otherwise could show an experience more similar to PSVR RE7.While today I was looking at a trainer tool for this game, I noticed that besides modifying the field of vision, it included another section to change aspect ratio, but I do not understand it very well.
My question is, if using this tool or some other way … would it be possible to modify aspect ratio for RE7, and obtain an image with 5: 4 or 3: 4 format without black bands?
I think it would improve completely and could lead to one of the best games to play with Vorpx within the category (1st person fullVR).
Is there any way to approach the issue of aspect ratio with some modern games like this case?Or could it be implemented in Vorpx for these situations?
After the forced update to the new version of Vorpx, the graphics have gotten messed up in Resident Evil 7 to the point of breaking the game. All hair for all characters has disappeared, along with all herbs, gunpowder, the clock puzzle’s face, and a bunch of the cloth simulation.
The game is basically unplayable once you get to the clock puzzle because you can’t see the hands of the clock. Everyone is bald, and the only way to find herbs is to get close enough to them that the pickup icon appears, because they are invisible.
The hand graphics may have been messed up before, but now it is way. WAY worse! How do I roll back to the older version?
Computer : alienware r17 with 6600k proc, 16 gb RAM, win 10, running a graphics amplifier loaded with a GeForce 2080ti. Vive Pro.
I saw something in the release notes about “blurry hand” being fixed for Resident Evil 7? What I remember last time I played the game with vorpx is once you get a knife, you can see your hand holding the knife but it looks like it has been split in two. Is this what was fixed? Can’t way to play through the game if it is!
