    Hello.

First off, I would like to mention that I already looked across every thread that I could find here, and found zero solutions for my issue short of reinstalling my entire OS (Something which I find ridiculous for playing one game with a program I paid a fair bit of money for).

The issue I am talking about is that the 32 bit version of Skyrim (with SKSE) crashes every time upon loading a world.

For some reason, it doesn’t crash immediately, but rather, a short bit after everything loads, and sometimes even has time to display what has loaded for a brief moment before it unfortunately crashes.

I have confirmed that this is a vorpX issue, as it happens with an almost vanilla (SKSE only) setup.

I have tried everything I can think of, and have come up empty handed.

Perhaps Ralf or someone else can shed some light on the subject? I’m truly at my wit’s end with figuring this out.

    Thanks!

That was just the push in the right direction I needed. After heading down a somewhat long and twisty rabbit hole, it turned out that together, OpenTrack and FreePIE were the programs I needed. Didn’t even have to disable vorpX’s head tracking, as the apps added to the inputs rather then replace them.

I’ve still got fine-tuning to do, but I’m a very happy vorpX Skyrim camper.

Yeah, sorry for that one. Looks like the weapon fix broke the hair (and other dynamic objects). I’ll see what I can do, but it might be either one or the other, so no promises.

Ralf is there any hope that you could check why Enderal, mod of the original Skyrim, that should work with DirectVR doesn’t work at all? (crashes)

It was released as a Free Game in Steam but it actualy installs the Original Skyrim (https://store.steampowered.com/app/933480/Enderal_Forgotten_Stories/)

I’m sure both developers would send him a key as soon as he emails them telling them he was requested to work on vorpx intergration.
Cybershoes have mentioned wanting to work with VorpX already so I’m sure they would send him a pair for free if they were to get in touch with him.
Skyrim Together is going open soon and has modding support, but uses the base version of the game, not the VR edition of Skyrim, and has a standalone heavily modified client with a different .exe, so it is practically another game.

The vorpX gamepad emulation gets automatically deactivated after running the DirectVR scan.

Prior to running the scan it is required since without DirectVR Skyrim’s native gamepad handling disables the mouse, breaking non-DirectVR head tracking with vorpX.

Nothing has changed in this regard, it always worked this way.

I have a mod installed that let me use xbox 360 controller and keyboard simultaniously in Syrim SE. It works perfect. It used to work with vorpx like three updates before the current version.
If now run vorpy and skyrim… i cant swith to first person mode, most of the xbox keys wont respond somtimes . And most i cant switch to the voprx ingame menu anymore after altered the config. What i did so far.
I opend the voprx ingame menu and set controller to hide.
this results in no button working.
    I switched to partial
this results in the game turning constantly 360 degrees
    I set to full
    this results weired button config.
So how can i get rid of that vorpx mapping .. i want to use the xbox controller and keyboard as in earlier updates

Sort of confused. Why would vorpx be needed since Skyrim has native VR support. Does this “Skyrim together” mod not support skyrim VR if you copy the files to skyrim VR instead?

Firstly I wanted to say thank you for providing the VR industry such a great program, that is the best at what it does compared to others that have tried, and for continually monitoring these forums and for interacting with your customers and posters on this forum regularly, I really do appreciate that.

I’m not sure if this is a lot to ask for or not, but Skyrim Together has just released with a standalone client and I was wondering if it was possible to have it intergrated into VorpX or if anyone is willing to do a FOV profile for it?
    https://skyrim-together.com/

Additionally, Cybershoes has a software which works inside SteamVR to adjust settings, and a standalone app which can adjust settings outside of SteamVR, (their CEO contact is at mail@cybershoes.io)
I believe a game like Skyrim Together with Vorpx support might really do well to boost Vorpx sales, Cybershoes sales and public awareness of Skyrim Together (which Bethesda do not mind existing)
Overall, I believe the intergration of the above two may be a great boon to the VR industry, if it catches on and is that enjoyable in any similar way WoW was.
So that is why I’m asking for these requests.
Thanks for your time and consideration towards these ideas.

(I’m not a fan of this reviewer in general, I think he can often be biased, but I don’t fault him for spreading awareness about this setup and I agree with the title of his video so I’ve provided it so you can see what I’m referring to.)

So, lately, I’ve been happily trapped in the world of Skyrim (in VorpX of course 😃). I tried extra hard on this playthrough to avoid vampires (because I always seem to get “vampired” (OK, I know it’s not a verb, but I turn into a vampire). It happens to me every time, and I really don’t want to become a vampire! So anyway, I had pretty much finished the main story and some other quest arcs. But I thought, well, maybe it’s time to switch to a new game (Yes, even vampires have silver linings lol 😜). I started playing Prey (2017) again, and what a blast! VorpX works so well with it. I played for a while in Z-Adaptive, because, wow, I am so impressed with how much better the Z-Adaptive works in 19.1.0.
After I played for a while, with all settings maxed out, and getting awesome performance, I thought I should really check out the G3D and see if that was really different. It was great! Every-once-and-a-while I had to switch back to Z-Adapt, because I’d start dropping FPS, but mostly it worked great.
I know there’s been a little negativity lately, but seriously, VorpX is getting better all the time. There might be some smaller use-cases for this person or that person where some feature is not how they would like, but you just can’t beat VorpX. And if you haven’t tried Prey (2017) with VorpX, then you have to! It’s great.

I’ve only played about 30 mins into the beginning so far, on the newly released steam version of Enderal, but it seems to be working fine.

I don’t know if it completely ignores old mods I had installed form vanilla skyrim or not, but it seemed vanilla to me.

The only thing I would think to try for now would be evaluate your hardware if you think you might be low on ram or vram. You could try changing some of those built in optimizations in the launcher. Does the game crash the same without vorpX?

If not a big bother, you could try backing up your skyrim and reinstalling it fresh. Or search other Enderal forums for similar crashes, they may have answers I havn’t the time to check atm. Good luck man.

The game works great without VorpX!
If I use VorpX I can see the main menu correctly, if I try to load a game the game crashes when the game is starting in 3 seconds. :(

What resolution are you using? maybe that is the difference. Also I have disabled both optimizations from the Enderal Settings the ENB and the allinone

    you have to rename enderal/d3d9.dll

vorpx tells that, i did and —-im starting now in 120 hours of best vr gameplay —-:)

I did that the very first time, yes, but how could this be that you are not having issues at all?

Wait, are you using the mod installed or the new released version from steam?
Because this one from steam is the one I have: https://store.steampowered.com/app/933480/Enderal_Forgotten_Stories/

And I know that the current VorpX should work because it is actually the old Skyrim

Not every game has memory scanner DirectVR. Whenever a game profile uses the memory scanner, you see the according message. Direct VR can be implemented in several ways, the memory scanner is just one potential way.

I was asking about Enderal (Skyrim mod) and now I’m reading this.
When I start Enderal I can see the DirectVR option to scan but the game crashes at the very 3 seconds of loading the savegame. Could this be that the DirectVR support fails because it is a mod? Because to be honest I thought that If the normal Skyrim works in VR this mod should also.

Is there any other problem with Vorpx and this game?

I know that with SkyrimVR every mod seems to work (among hundreds tried), not sure about via vorpx though.

Actually Skyrim VR comes from Skyrim SSE
In this case Enderal is a mod from the original Skyrim not the SSE, I think it is called also, OLDRIM :P

anyway, this is part of my point the old Original Skyrim worked wonderful with VorpX, actually it was my main reason to buy VORPX and I loved it. I just want to play Enderal the same way, the mod is beautiful!! I want this in VR :)
