nevermind got it to work, just had to restart my pc, man this is insane, on the games that support it, mostly wanted it for skyrim, and man is it sweet, i can finally be the perv that i am and look at my skyrims ladies boobies in person :D
i found though to get the best detail you have to run the game at 4k or at least 2k, wish the current headsets had better screens, but over time, for now its pretty damn cool, i still prefer my tv but its very immersive to want to get lost in another world
WOW Skyrim is better than ever. AWESOME in 16.1.2 with beautiful proper water and nice time warp AND DK2 is still great!
VorpX is my best software buy of the past few years and I love it. Thanks Ralf
I am a little worried that the new oculus home software is going to try and update itself often. Hopefully it does not update past compatibility with VorpX :/
Skyrim does feel better now. Trying to upscale the res now with the extra performance.
Anyone know how to fix the black bars covering the right and bottom of my screen after I use the upscale internal resolution (2.00) with Z3D on? When I turn 3D off they are removed, when I turn Z3D back on, they come back.
I agree Skyrim FOV and zoom looks correct now. I was using it yesterday and couldn’t get it to look right. Was coming back today to tweak some more and Vorpx updated. Now everything looks good! Awesome.
OK, my vorpx is linking to TESV.exe not the SkyrimLauncher.exe
I have SKSE installed through Steam; possibly it is different if you installed it manually, I don’t know.
F:\Games\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\TESV.exe
(My steam apps is probably in a different locale than yours, but if you search for TESV.exe you should find it)
It works whether I launch Skyrim from nexus mod manager or directly from Steam.
Yeah fair enough, I agree with you about Fallout 4 being better in z adaptive. Its a better trade off in the end.
Skyrim has taken a noticeable jump in quality now to my eye. The scale never seemed quite right before but now everything sits very well together. Much smoother also.
I don’t have the other runtimes installed so I don’t think that’s it. I did notice in this thread, however, that another person with the same issue, edo, is having the same problem but noticed that “ok got a few games to run, eg skyrim, batman, fallout 4, however I never get rid of that “Please waiting” screen which launches as soon as I start vorpx.”
I do have Skyrim so I may try to see if vorpX interfaces with it correctly later. He did state that GTAV and the vorpX Desktop (I have tried the latter) did NOT work from him, though. I think Ralf may have also misinterpreted his claims of the grey screen sowing up as being the disclaimer screen rather than the “Please Wait…” screen. So we’re definitely seeing something hang. Ralf did mention in that thread that you can contact support [at] vorpx.com to get the previous version of vorpX that runs with the 0.8 runtime if you really want to get up and running right away. Personally I’m fine sticking it out and seeing if we can figure out what’s happening, though. So far I think we are seeing a common thread here of Windows 10, GTX 980 cards and using the DK2. I do have a CV1 on the way, but I’m a :45 order so I suspect I won’t see it until probably May so I can’t be much help on seeing if that makes a difference for us.
It’s hard to describe, but when I look right or left I the screen peels away from my view and I see off the edge of the screen; almost like it’s in cinema mode.
Yeah same for me (odd and difficult to describe). Its like a screwed up backwards virtual cinema mode (or edge peek). Fallout 4 was fine in the previous release. Glad its not just me. Head tracking seems backwards and there is a screen in front (virtual cinema works fine btw).
Same thing happens for me in Bioshock infinite and Alien isolation.
This doesn’t happen for Skyrim or Dishonored (completely fine in those two).
Is there a way to get skyrim with skse to work with vorpx it doesn’t seem to want to work together. I created a shortcut to skse with vorpx and while that method worked with the original skyrim it doesnt work with vorpx. The game just launches as it would normally
Hi, I am trying to use VORPX with several games and the desktop viewer. I have the newest version (I believe) and nothing has really changed on my PC…
When I launch desktop viewer, it looks as if its no stereo 3D….(Looks better with one eye closed).
Same for sure with Skyrim and GTA V
I used the settings menu (DeL) key. and tried changing things, but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone offer any advice??
Thanks
C
PS: I know the oculus is working (I have the DK1) because my demos and the oculus setup screen look great. (as great as a DK1 can look, right! :) )
ok got a few games to run, eg skyrim, batman, fallout 4, however I never get rid of that “Please waiting” screen which launches as soon as I start vorpx. I launch the games over top of that screen and they seem to work however upon exiting the game the dk2 screen goes black and hangs. I have to exit vorpx and then the oculus store/library comes back on the dk2. Something is not happy there!
Also still no luck with vorpx desktop.
I have reinstalled, rebooted, reinstalled again. Still no luck. I am hesitant to do a full uninstall first since I am afraid that might erase my license key. Anyway it works this way; sort of. The “please wait” and hangup still seems to be there but If I ignore them the few games I have tried, do work. (GTA still doesn’t work but that may be the GTA VR mod not ready for 1.3 sdk)
(Windows 10, DK2, SDK 1.3, NVidia 364.51 driver, gtx980ti )
Ok same problem as a few above…installed 16.1.1…rebooted…cant get past white screen after health safety warning where it says “Please Wait”
I am using dk2 980ti…config vorpx comes up fine , registers as dk2…vorpx desktop also doesn’t start..same hangup…
Randomly I have gotten Skyrim to launch and run fine. However others like Vorpx desktop and GTA still hang on that screen. Is there a special sequence required? it seems the oculus store/library must load first since it auto loads when you turn on the dk2? after it appears I start vorpx and then get the health safety warning, then from Steam or desktop I launch a game and then I get “Please wait” for everything but Skyrim? Should steam vr to be on perhaps? I am clueless as to what I did differently with Skyrim to make it work.
Skyrim seems to have improved – smoother, quicker head tracking and water reflections working properly now
FWIW I’m having the exact head tracking problems as Tony. I tried to make a video, but the issue doesn’t show on the desktop mirror.
Anyway – I’m off to test skyrim next…
