What is the best resolution to use with good system? For best results live a good fov so forth
I guess edit is turned off.. I read through the walk through more carefully. Firstly Nicely done!
What is Opentrack doing in this case? What is the point of it? The tracking is working in Star Citizen so hum why? Sorry dont get it.
Muskoka1847, first off , GREAT write up. I will be checking my settings later today. I just joined the Star Citizen PTU a week ago in hopes that Vorpx would play nicely in it and it does for the most part with the default profile. I am currently using an Oculus Rift S and uses a default resolution setting 2560×1440 with a RTX2060. I can get a constant 43-45 FPS but you have some higher settings like crystal Image set to aggressive, and Z-Adaptive, what FPS are you getting with any consistency. this will help me understand if I have mine set up optimally.
I don’t have a HOTAS yet, but this game is really making me rethink that. I am working on getting the controllers set up properly since current profile does not have a Mobi-Glass button, nor can I lower my landing gear, I have to use the keypad for that.
Trying to follow this guide but these resolutions don’t work at my end, can’t see the hud at all.
3.7 Vorpx and Opentrack for VR guide updated

First off, it looks great in full vr, no problems on my system lag wise at all, other than the fov is off. I can’t find a setting that brings the hud elements of the game in view, they’re all off to the left, out of view because of the fov? I have a user.cfg that allows up to 120 fov in game setting, and I’ve tried adjusting the fov setting in vorpx menu, and still can’t get something usable.
I don’t really understand how the fov and resolution affect each other in vorpx. In my mind the fov, or the resolution, is too wide on the horizontal, what’s the best way to adjust that to bring the hud elements back into view?
I’d be interested in how this develops as well. Although the game is pretty non-finished currently isn’t it? I haven’t really kept up with star citizen since 1983 when they started making it.
I have good specs system. and own the game but have not go around to VR. or even playing it. Is it working correctly in Vorpex? Is it worth playing in VR? or worth playing at all?
Thanks
There will be a new device type named ‘Generic 3D TV/Monitor’ in the next vorpX with normal side by side stereo output. However, this will not be officially supported. vorpX is built for VR, all profiles are made with VR in mind, and some of them will only work as intended in VR. There are no plans to change this focus on VR.
So you will be able use vorpX with your 3D TV without workarounds, but you are basically on your own when you do so. No official support of any kind will be provided for this mode.
Saw that in the newest Version :)
One request: Since vorpx is so far – the only thing thats missing for NV 3D Vision is an option for normal colors instead red/cyan anaglyph and turning the emitter (for the shutterglasses) on.
There are Games that only work with vorpx. I like to try Star Citizen on my 3D Monitor (my PC is too weak to run SC in VR).
It would be a really cool feature.
Probably that thing with the colors should be no big deal.
But I don´t know how to turn the Emittor on, without running the 3D Vision Driver.
There was once an Emulator for that, but it doesn´t work anymore…
Hello. Can i get treial version for checkig Vorpx with last update of Star Citizen and my old Oculus DK2 helmet? Thank you for attention.
@skubi007
I haven’t played in a while but i remember there was something wrong with the oculusEnabled () method. I believe you couldn’t move at all from the location you started playing in or something similar. It was bad enough that i went to find another solution, which vorpx provided. Give it a shot and see what you think.
@GeneticResearch
Star citizen already works, there are profiles on the cloud. Iv played it a few times now and if it wasn’t so damn buggy it would be amazing. Feels good in vorpx, runs quite well considering.
Star Citizen is no more working too after this last patch. It works only for few minutes the i get a scratchy sound and a black screen in the oculus rift s.
Other VR games without vorpX works fine before and after this issue with vorpX and Star Citizen.
Sorry but no. Star Citizen was working before the last patch comes, now it is works only for few minutes then the oculus rift get black screen. Every other VR game works before and after this issue with vorpX so it is not a problem with the headset.
Star Citizen and upcomming games Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs 3
USUAL STAR CITIZEN DISCLAIMER (forgot that above): As suggested by the message on start the game is not officially supported by vorpX due to its alpha state. The profile is merely provided for those who like to experiment.
That said:
You might be able to set the FOV manually to higher values using a user.cfg file in your SC directory. Not sure whether that still works, but it did in the past.
Check the guide linked below for where to put the user.cfg, the variable to set would be cl_fov (provided it still works), e.g. cl_fov = 100.

Assuming SC means Star Citizen, you can adjust the game’s field of view in its graphics options instead of using vorpX’s image zoom. Or use a combination of both in case the max. allowed FOV is not enough (haven’t checked the game in a while so I’m not sure).
