hello I have problem take vorpx work in game (star citizen ) when first time start vorpx in sc all running ok.when start game again with vorpx …vorpx stoped works. only when delete in star citizen in folders file (C:\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizen\LIVE\USER\Profiles\default…..actionmaps,attributes,profile,hintstatus.. and start game with vorpx again works…any idea why? thanks

Honestly, judging from all Pimax 5k/8k feedback I got so far, noone else seems to have issues as huge as you. Very much to my own surprise apparently even Star Citizen is being played with vorpX on Pimax 5k by at least one brave user. Not sure if I would recommend that.
Running vorpX on Pimax is obviously even more demanding than running vorpX with other headsets since the 5k/8k in itself are quite demanding due to the higher FOV and resoluion. You can’t just run games at the native resolution of the Pimax 5k/8k and expect that to work just as well as on Vive. Run games with usual vorpX resolutions like 1200p, 1440p, maybe 1680p for older games and reduce graphics settings if necessary.
If for example a reasonably modern game runs with 60-90fps on your Vive with vorpX, there is almost zero performance headroom left for the added FOV/resolution of the Pimax 5k, so you have to make up for that somehow. Easiest way to do that is usually reducing graphics detail and/or switching to Z3D (until faster GPUs arrive). That’s simply the nature of the beast. No more, no less.
Has star Citizen profile a 3d effect?
I think Star Citizen supports TrackIR, so you should be able to use OpenTrack instead of vorpX’s mouse emulation head tracking. OpenTrack can emulate TrackIR input with a headset.
Hi, first up I understand that SC isn’t supported so I understand if nobody has any answers for this issue – just thought I’d ask :)
I’m on SC 3.4.1 with Samsung Odyssey and have managed to get it working fairly well. However once you are in-game the head tracking works for a few seconds but then stops working correctly. When this happens, the tracking is a small percentage of your head movemvet (even if I set the HT sensitivity to 5.0) and it moves the view as well.
I have disabled the X and Y axis for mouselook in the game settings so this isn’t the issue.
Any ideas?

Kingdom Come works (it just randomly froze when I tried to load it) but I have got it working since. Arma3 and star citizen still no good though. Weird.
Hey I am using Vive Pro (SteamVR) – everything working perfectly up until update today (18.3.2.2) – now I get a black screen whenever I load into a game ? Rebooted etc after installation. Desktop viewer works fine, but whenever I hook into a game (Kingdom Come, Arma3, Star Citizen) – I just get a black screen in the HMD. The game screen on the monitor has the Vorpx logo, so it seems to be hooking OK, and audio plays fine – but now everything is black – any ideas ? Tried running as admin but no joy. Thanks.
Just to update – that guide has been significantly re-jigged/improved both on the original reddit post and the mirrored version on Star Citizen forums. To the SC haters, man, you guys are going to have so much egg on your face. Remember it when the game is finished and is hailed as the biggest thing ever. IF you don’t get it now, you will in time.

I’m not an expert, so others are welcome to correct me, but as far as I’m aware you can play the Arena Commander dogfight module, which is available for quite a while and since not too long ago also a few missions in the actual multiplayer universe.
Not a complete game yet, but quite a bit more than two years ago.

I gave up on Star Citizen a long time ago, so I’m not that familiar with its current state. What exactly is “playable” in the game right now? Is there much of a game, or is it still more like a tech demo?
I may give it a try in Z3D cinema mode and avoid all the menu/headtracking/recenter headache.

That out of the way: thanks for sharing. I’ll check the alpha 3.3 before the next larger vorpX update 19.1.0 and automate the .ini edits with the DirectVR settings optimizer to simplify the process for those who don’t want to mess with ini editing.

Any chance we can get the Kingdom Come: Deliverance profile or a variant thereof as an option for the star citizen profile (hopefully not much work to be done there), rather than the rigmarole of having to rename binary files etc ? Or even the ability to swap it over if we want to ? It has Geometry 3d and the Z-buffer modes seem to get faster frames.

Like its start message says the profile is provided purely for those who want to experiment. That is doubly true for Geometry 3D mode, which is quite likely to break with a new SC update.
That said, I’ll look into the game again before the next larger vorpX update. If there is an issue that can be fixed, it will fixed, but there is no guarantee for that (see above).
For the time being please switch to the default Z3D mode, which judging from other users’ feedback still seems to work.

I wonder if anyone can help. i have star citizen all set up in vr, running geometry , its all working fine apart from some flickering lights, however after about a minute or so, the picture seems to reset to a more flat image and nothing i do in the settings when i press delete, has any effect. I dont know if its something im doing wrong
