    As title, pressing del key doesn’t show the vorpx config menu in game.

    Game is fsx (non-steam), os windows 7 64bit, latest vorpx version.

    Other vorpx keys function ok such as middle mouse button for edgepeek.

    In other games i.e. arma, delete key shows the vorpx config menu.

    The game didn’t appear to be in 3d (judging by the look of the cockpit).

    Any ideas?

    All my Steam games hook just fine with Vorpx, and I’ve tried a lot. If you right click on the Vorpx icon you can create a shortcut, maybe that would help.

    About Origin, maybe you could turn the Origin layour off, that helps sometimes.

    For F1 games, (I’ve got 2012 and 2014) you need to have Open track for head tracking and to adjust the FOV I followed this tutorial: http://www.entertherift.fr/article-606-maj-tuto-f1-2012-13-et-dirt.html

    As for myself, there are times vorpX doesn’t want to hook and restarting my computer helps. You said you have the Rift set to extended, do you also have it set as your primary monitor? Also, before I get into game, I don’t have the lens cups in. It makes it a lot easier to navigate around the desktop and get into the game. Once I am in game (going into time trial and a track to test head tracking in F1 for example) I’ll put in the lens cups and put on the Rift.

    I procedure is to turn on the Rift, wait for my monitors to adjust and then start vorpX and if need be, Open track, then start>steam>game. It loads in the rift and the warning appears (even though I checked it not to) and I wait until I am through all the menus and into the game before putting in the lenses and playing.

    I have little trouble with my games, though it is about 70% chance that head tracking will work in F1 without restarting my computer. Most other games work fine, though I did have an issue with Far Cry 4 locking the look stick so I couldn’t use that to help recenter the view. I couldn’t look left and then move the look stick as I straighten my head but still face left… which made me conscious of trying not to get tangled in the cord.

    And there were a few times that I was so frustrated, especially at first, that I wanted to throw my computer through a window and rip out my hair. However, one day things just worked and I have no idea what I did… if some drivers updated, or I didn’t do something that I was previously… but all the black screens with audio, laggy jittery input, etc, was gone.

    I do hope you get your issue resolved.

    I have no troubles working vorpx with Steam:
    Borderlands 2
    Borderlands Pre-Sequel
    Chivalry
    DCS World
    F1 2012 (needs open track)
    F1 2014 (needs open track)
    Far Cry 4
    GTAIV
    Metro 2033
    Mirrors Edge
    Portal 2
    Outlast
    Skyrim
    Wolfenstein

    Alien Isolation (mod game file)
    Test Drive Unlimited 2 (have 3D but no head tracking)

    I also have the Mass Effect trilogy and Alan Wake but I haven’t tried those games yet. Except for the games marked, all work with vorpx’s head tracking.

    I tried mirrors edge and Left 4 dead2 under steam, both are not working at all with vorpx, then shamefully I downloaded a pirate copy of independent version of mirrors edge then vorpx hooks up with the game and works well.

    this stops me buying more games at least from steam. please let me know how to or how long is vorpx going to support steam just like Tridef 3d did?

    Another similar case is that Battle field 4 under origin (seems the only place I can buy a copy) is not workable with vorpx, every time it bounced back with the error of “directx 11 dll failure”. please help!

    thanks and best wishes.

    Ok, gradually downloading all my games again for steam…

    Found ANOTHER that does not work AT ALL.

    Thief 2014 – Run Vorpx assign settings via Vorpx run thief.. Launcher opens, press play. Nothing. Nothing at all.

    Do not run Vorpx and them run Theif.. Game works fine!!

    I am really not impressed NOTHING works for this software!!

    Hi,
    I dl’d the game as I already had on steam in anticipation of either native or Vorpx support, however it does not work with 3d?.

    When you bring up the Voprx menu in game it is disabled on 3d but you say you have it working on yours?
    Other than that yes It works well with head tracking and just have to zoom out a little but still no 3d and as I said I only like to play games in 3d?

    Regards

    I don’t know why! It worked for me.

    I just finished Bioshock Infinite with dk2 and vorpx which was one of the greatest game experiences of my life. This was the steam version, running windows 7 on an evga nvidea 640 with 8 gb ddr2, with graphics set to very high. I used the following setup:
    In game settings:
    Start Bioshock Infinite without vorpx first.
    Go to options, graphics, set field of view to max.
    Ensure game is fullscreen, and 1920X1080.
    Start New Game, enter the light house, exit game.
    (Ensuring ini creation, and a good point to trigger autosave to jump in and out of game while adjusting)
    Startup Vorpx.
    Right click tray icon, Configure Vorpx, General Settings,
    Under Disaply/Monitors set to Show on Rift DK2 and disable Aero on game start.
    (I have had alot of luck with this working correctly since the patch)
    Apply and close.
    Restart Bioshock Infinite with vorpx on.
    You should be able to see well enough to continue your game.
    (Use middle mouse click edge peak if needed to enter game)
    Ingame vorpx settings:
    Once ingame push Delete on your keyboard to bring up vorpx menu.
    Click Mouse wheel to zoom back in to see menu clearly.
    On Main tab:
    Set 3d Reconstruction Z Normal
    Seperation (3d-strength) 2.00
    Depth Weighting (Near-Far) 1.00
    (These are the most immersive 3d setting I found, that do not distort quality or cause my stomach to turn)
    On Display Tab:
    Fix Chromatic Aberration On
    Image Zoom 0.67
    (This will pull the camera back far enough to capture most of the screen without taking you out of the screen)
    On Input Tab:
    HT Sensitivity .38
    HT Roll On
    HT Smoothing Very Low
    (This will seem a bit slow, once you reach the target practice area i suggest you practice till perfect learning to aim and shoot using head tracking before you proceed, and tweak these settings to what suits you. Alot of people dislike this method of shooting and want the crosshair disconnected, but having tried steamvr halflife 2 I can tell you hands down, I love aiming with headtracking. You will also want to tweak your right joystick sensitivity ingame control options to your liking, I also found that a lower sensitivity worked for me.)
    Handle Gamepads Internally Off
    Head Tracking as Gamepad Off
    (This will allow you to play with an xbox controller using in game setup, which does not coflict with head tracking for me)
    OK&Save (exit vorpx panel)
    Exit Game one more time.
    INI Settings:
    Open the following folder:
    C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config
    Open XUserOptions.ini with notepad.
    Change:
    MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent=00.000000
    To:
    MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent=28.570000
    (This will boost your fov back far enough to make the depth feel correct)
    Save and Close
    Open XGame.ini with notepad.
    Change:
    [XCore.XScreenManager]
    bUseDefaultSafeRect=true
    SafeRectX0=0
    SafeRectY0=0
    SafeRectX1=1920
    SafeRectY1=1080
    MaxDefaultSafeRectAspectRatio=1
    To:
    [XCore.XScreenManager]
    bUseDefaultSafeRect=false
    SafeRectX0=0
    SafeRectY0=0
    SafeRectX1=900
    SafeRectY1=700
    MaxDefaultSafeRectAspectRatio=0
    Save and Close
    (This last edit alters the positioning of your hud elements. These settings will pull your healthbar, vigorbar etc inside your field of view. This will allow you to enjoy the game without ever having to use edge peak)
    Restart Bishock infinite and enjoy.

    Btw if u still can get anywhere. I would suggest using a non steam copy of the game(buy a Disc or pirate it) it seems to make everything less glitchy. I can use my steam mirrors edge but it crashes randomly sometimes. So I just use a non steam copy now. Im no longer going to buy steam games to use with the oculus dk2.

    So when I go to play either Miasmata or Mirrors Edge from steam, with vorpx on they crash. This seems to happen with any setup in the general vorpx configuration and works fine without vorpx on. I have the DK2 and it works alright with other games like portal and oblivion. Can anyone give me a hint as to how to fix this? Thanks.

    I’ve had no issues with Steam games and Vorpx, nor have I had an issue with an integrated card (Intel HD 4600) and a dedicated (780ti).

    Ok that makes sense. I’ve played a few games in 3rd person with the rift and its actually not so bad. Rift (the mmo) for example recently added experimental oculus support and, while the interface is terrible, its actually quite good.

    Does VorpX work with games that were purchased through Steam?

    Have you tested it with systems that have two video cards (e.g. my Razer Blade gaming laptop has an integrated card and a high performance gpu for games)?

    Hi Ralf,

    I can’t get the Vanishing of Ethan Carter to inject at all. Other games seem fine just not this one.

    I have ensured there are no DLLs in the directory.
    I turned off Steam Overlay.
    I tried creating a desktop shortcut.
    I tried the rename, people have suggested.
    I have tried running both the 32bit and 64bit version.

    Win 8.1 / GTX 980.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I had Dayz working with Vorpx a wee while ago, but I suspect because it now launches either a BattleEye version or steam that Vorpx watcher no longer sees it.

    Is there any way to force Vorpx to map certain exe’s to certain games?
