With a gaming laptop you first and foremost have to make sure that games run on the dedicated GPU, not on the integrated GPU. If possible disable the integrated GPU altogether.

Elder Scrolls Online annoyingly manages to end up with a black logon screen after almost every game update until the profile gets fixed. Luckily there is an easy workaround: If you encounter the issue, disable 3D in the vorpX menu for logging on. You can turn it back on in the actual game. The issue only affects the login screen.

For further information I’d like to kindly direct you to the help that comes with vorpX. You can access it from the config app. The ‘Quickstart’ and ‘Essential Game Hints’ guides should cover the most important beginner’s questions.

BTW: I changed your forum nickname. Was displaying your full mail address, which I assumed is not really what you wanted.

    Good Morning,

Slowly getting used to this software by following alot of these posts but seem to be stuck with the dreaded black screen after the first two intros. After that i can hear all the audio fine but all i can see on my headset and desktop views are a black screen with the “VorpX” logo situated at the bottom?

Ive managed to load the cloud profile for The Elder Scrolls Online “Vorpx” one yet im still getting this black screen.

    Any pointers?

When launching The Elder Scrolls Online (eso64.exe) with vorpx and HP Reverb G2 gen2 sometimes vorpx connects OK, but sometimes (far more often) hangs on attaching. It even starts the vr session, launches the WMR, but then nothing but there rolling circles in VR and ‘attaching…’ message in 2d.

    Things I tried:

    disable antivirus

fixes proposed by vorpx (hook methods, admin rights etc)

    different profiles for the game

The question is, what could be the cause, and how (if) can I debug it?

Thanks to the forums I managed to get past login screen (DEL – Disable 3d render until logged in). There’s another issue on WMR HP Reverb G2 Gen.2 – if I use Geometry (“better visuals”) mode, the right eye is black, which would have been great if I roleplayed a pirate, but I’m not. Am I the only one with the issue, and is there a fix?

Also is there a way to make game textures less blurry? I know it’s 2014 game and it was mediocre in that aspect even then, but maybe some oversampling could do the trick? OpenXR tools or so? In MSFS those utilities made wonders.

(well, another thing is when I switched the controllers on while in-game, my char started peering into the sky and refused to move. But this might well be my own fault, since I play with mods).

First of all, thanks Ralf for successfully rescuing 3D gaming! I have finally gotten such fantastic results with your software after years of struggling with it and at times, writing it off.

Second of all. Playing a multiplayer MMO with VorpX IS the metaverse! WE have top quality graphics and characters to build (not those stupid looking Meta avatars and low quality graphics that Zuckerberg and others offer) and the community in the game (group content, Discord and guilds).

Thirdly: I really would like to share my settings for Elder Scrolls Online however I didn’t start with one of your templates (after trying them and not being satisfied). Do I have to take notes and reset everything or is there some way of saving what I have already and exporting to your cokkection of presets?

I often disclose to other players that I am playing with VR glasses in 3D. THey like the idea but I think the investment in hardware stops them.

New update broke geometry in ESO on Pimax 8K X. It worked perfectly before the update.

The update that was supposed to fix the Elder Scrolls Online black screen on launch issue has made the right screen of the Pimax 8K X black.

The left screen works perfectly, but now the right screen just shows the UI and the rest is all black.

Hopefully Geometry can be fixed on the Pimax 8K X headset. Just a Heads up..

When you launch vorpX next time, you’ll probably see a notification about a database update being available. This updates contains the following changes:

    • New: Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga: G3D, immersive screen
    • Fixed: Elder Scrolls Online: black screen on launch since last game update
    • Changed: F1 2021: Z3D base parameter adjustments

Did the new patch for The Elder Scrolls Online break the ability to use Vorpx?

I have had no issue using Vorpx prior to the patch, I haven’t tried using vorpx with TESO post patch.
I am able to see two company logo screens, but it goes into a black screen prior to the Havok company logo just before the login screen.

I have tried it in fullscreen/windowed mode, I have updated to the newest Vorpx version (21.3.2), I have imported a new profile, but it still shows a black screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as TESO is so beautiful on VR I will shed a few tears if I cannot play it on VR again..

    Thank you <3

Elder Scrolls Online Epic Vorpx quality:

    HTC Vive Pro2
    Nvidia 3080 12G GPU
    Six core AMD CPU

I have achieved really stunning results with ESO recently with Vorpx and above-listed hardware. Thanks Ralf! But I don’t see a way to produce a profile to share from in-game. If I downloaded profile, it will erase my settings right? The profiles available don’t work as well.

I get 90 FPS in most areas of the game. In some socially busy areas of the game, some glitchy dungeons and large group trials, I switch from Geometry to Z-Normal due to slowing frame rates.

I think the most important part of any profile is a huge investment in hardware. I have had VR headsets from day one, but I now have:

    HTC Vive Pro2
    Nvidia 3080 12G GPU
    Six core AMD CPU

    Best yet!

Hey guys. I am using VorpX after about 1 year break and nothing works as expected. I try Elder Scrolls Online, it doesn’t hook with OpenXR, needs SteamVR. This works but horrible graphic glitches / bugs / texture errors. I tried Portal, flickering, very low resolutions, screen jumping around, message box “try 4:3 resolution to avoid flickering”, I try 4:3 but same, my weapon is jumping around, textures flickering black-purple-white-black-purple-white. I try Thief 2. even though its listed as “supported” game I have no 3D at all. The game is working with my headset but I have no depth / real stereoscopic 3D at all. I try supported local profiles, I try cloud profiles, there is not a single game that works without errors / glitches / graphic bugs.

I have HP Reverb G2. nVidia RTX 3070

Sorry if this has already been covered. All the threads I was getting on google search are from 2018 or prior.

I am currently getting a mostly black screen in the right eye when using vorpx on the geometry settings.

I haven’t played the game for a while but previously I could use the geometry setting without issue.

I can use z-normal or z-adaptive and the issue goes away however I prefer the geometry setting.

Is this a known issue? Is there a way to fix this problem and use geometry?
