@ All : if anyone else is having this problem (ESO not working), please report back here, so that a potential general issue can be looked into. Ideally with an exact description of what happens (or not).

Maybe you can fix the Game Settings Optimzier in the next version. With 0.91 it tries to edit the UserSettings.txt in Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live
New paths are \liveeu or \liveus

And the resolution settings are strange in fullscreen. The game tries to use always the desktop resolution and if you change the resolution it interpolates to desktop resolution. For me it works to edit the windowed resolution in UserSettings.txt
    SET WindowedHeight “*”
    SET WindowedWidth “*”
and set it to windowed ingame.

And does anybody have an idea, what the original FOV is? The slider seems to be percentage, so FOV 130 is +30% from original,
original value seems like 50° vert = 79° horiz
Atm I try different resolutions and FOV settings. i would appreciate any suggestions for 1st person view.

Just a guess: did you activate the DX9 renderer (required for proper 3D)? Normally the Game Optimizer should take care of that, but it may fail in some cases.

To do it manually, locate your UserSettings.txt and change

    SET GraphicsDriver.7 “D3D11” to SET GraphicsDriver.7 “D3D9”

The UserSettings.txt file is located at [Documents]\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu

“liveeu” may also be just “live”, “liveus” or maybe something else depending on your location.

    Hey Ralf,

I purchased ESO today and have tried to get it working with VORPX as it’s listed as being a compatible game. I applied the games VR settings via the VORPX app and started the game. The game starts fine but when you reach the character selection screen my character is invisible and it looks like nothing is rendered, instead I just see a blueish haze over everything with some of the UI on top. The same happens actually in game as well and nothing is visible other than a blue haze.

    Any idea why?

    Cheers

Are you using the latest version of vorpX? ESO support was broken with 0.9.0, but that was fixed with 0.9.1, which was also confirmed by the user who reported the issue with 0.9.0. If it does not work with 0.9.1 on your machine there probably is a system specific issue. In that case please first check the trouble shooting guide in the help.

Also please make sure to run the game with DX9 to get G3D support. If applying the DX9 renderer with the game optimizer fails, use the ini setting described here:

[PSA] Switching between DX11 & DX9 may significantly improve your performance.

Please take ESO off the supported games list. It’s false advertising for future buyers of vorpx.

The latest vorpX (0.91) requires the runtime 0.7 or 0.8. For Windows 10 0.8 is recommended.

Elder Scrolls Online must use DirectX 9 instead of DX11 for rendering or you get the error you see. Normally the vorpX game Optimizer can apply the necessary tweak (vorpX Config app).

If that fails for some reason, you have to do it manually by editing an ini file. Googling for Elder Scrolls Online DX9 will yield a few short tutorials.

    I just bought Vorpx.
I am excited to try out elder scrolls online and other games.
First of all, is there a resource which explains which version of windows, and Oculus sDk and Vorpx works together?
I made the mistake in upgrading to Windows 10. So I have Windows 10.
I found out the hard way that Oculus sdk 7 and 8 have problems with windows 10 which I am struggling to figure out.
So.. using Windows 10 and Oculus sdk 0.5 or 0.6 I was able to get Elite Dangerous working again.

VORPX: using vorpx, firing up Elder Scrolls online, I get an error about the API not rendering or recognized.

    Question:
Can anyone direct me to a resource or advice for how to configure vorpx and Elder scrolls so I can get it to work on Windows 10?
This is a little disappointing, especially after the frustrations of having windows 10 and problems with the rift already.

    You help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone here have luck with Elder Scrolls Online? ESO is the game I played most with vorpx and now it doesn’t seem to work for me post vorpx .9. Its like it tries to hook but the video never makes it to the HMD. The mouse / keyboard are captured though. I had minor luck through virtual desktop mode but F that mess, I was playing with full geometry 3d before the udpate… I was just curious to know if anyone has had success with playing ESO since the update or if they too were having problems getting the game to hook?

Elder Scrolls online -> Doesn’t launch to HMD; mouse stops working.
World of warcraft -> doesnt launch to HMD; mouse stops working.
    GTA 5 -> Working great!
Half Life 2 -> Working great!

REALLY hoping to get ESO figured out if anyone has any tips. Thanks!

So Elder Scrolls Online isn’t working anymore. Big sad face.

Other games seem to be fine but ESO doesnt ever make it to the HMD. I noticed that the mouse is inaccessible if the vorpx watcher us up and ESO launches but no HMD action. Helps! I have been chomping at the bit for this update just so I could play ESO without rolling back drivers and unplugging extra monitors. Now I can’t even roll back because the old vorpx isnt available. :(

    Hello!

So, Vorpx has been working pretty well with most of the games I’ve tried so far. A bit of tinkering here and there and it ends up looking awesome.

I have two issues when trying to run ESO with it, though. First issue is that the image is not sent to my rift despite Vorpx being set to send the display image to my Rift. This is easily worked around, though, so no worries there.

The second issue is that when launching, it launches in edge peek mode and attempting to exit edge peak creates a window slightly below and infront of the edge peek window. Basically, it ends up stuck in edge peek mode.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you for your time!

I’m not entirely sure what happened, but while playing The Elder Scrolls Online, VorpX’s edge peek suddenly stopped working. The middle mouse button does not want to activate it anymore. Every other feature of Vorpx works perfectly fine, but even in other games now, edge peek is a no go. I tried reinstalling Vorpx, but to no avail. Any idea what could be going wrong? ESO is nearly impossible to play without edge peek, due to having to read item information, etc.

    Hello,

I searched around in the forum but can’t find anything about my problem. I’ve tried Elder Scrolls Online with vorpx and it works very well.

Then i want to try Dirt 2, but it doesn’t work. Have tried to force dx9 by editing the hardware_settings_config.xml in the gamedir/system/ folder and in documents/My Games/Dirt2/hardwaresettings/ folder, but it doesn’t work.

So i tried Dirt3 but it also don’t work. But I think this is because I Dirt3 Complete Edition over Steam.

    But i can’t figure out, why I can’t get Dirt2 working.

    Has anybody an idea?

I am having trouble with The Elder Scrolls Online.

Vorpx is saying “Settings Path Not Found” when I try to optimize the game settings.

I am assuming this is because Vorpx is looking for the steam installation path rather than the standard installation path?

Any way to fix this? I am getting huge judder in game making it unplayable and I am hoping if I could apply the optimization this would be fixed.

    GTX 980, i7 3770k 3.5ghz,16gb ram, extended, aero off.
