Now I can get GTA5 to launch on home 1.3, but my look in full vr mode is inverted. It felt like I was emulating xbox stick with my head (inverted and less responsive). I tried to override xbox fully in vorpx menu, but my settings never save through the next restart. Settings restored to default when I start back in.

I also noticed a severe performance hit to my frame rate compared to how i was playing last night using vorpx 0.9 and oculus 0.7.

Im getting this inverted head tracking as well in Fallout 4, but oddly its only in the pip boy menu screen. In normal view its not inverted but instead the sensitivity is doubled so if I move my head it tracks it twice as far.

Im getting a performance hit as well but I thought that might be just cos G3D is especially demanding in F4.

Anyone else getting odd head tracking in Fallout 4 using G3D? The head roll and rotations arent working at all for me.

I haven’t purchased VorpX yet, but if it just supported Opentrack I would buy it in a heartbeat. It looks like it has great support, but I don’t have an Oculus. I’m using Vireio Perception right now because it DOES support Opentrack data, but it doesn’t support DX11 and I would really like to play Fallout 4 in VR.

(I should note: I don’t need streaming or anything else, besides displaying the game in SBS 3D on my screen, and accepting Opentrack input. Everything else is handled by Gagagu for iPhone, which is essentially the same thing as Trinius for Android)

It’s really strange, it’s all games other than ones that VorpX wouldn’t work with (for example Fallout 3 still works!).

I’ve now uninstalled the antivirus, removed all non-game programs including one called RAPTR that I didn’t even know existed, and still nothing…

I completely agree, there must be a program that’s causing a conflict so will send support an email and hope for the best!

I do wonder if there’s a potential issue with my graphics card, although it does have the latest drivers…

I have the DK2 and don’t plan on upgrading .. it’s too expensive and I don’t believe diving into another HMD at this point is a good investment as they seem to drop all support for the previous iteration on new release. My content works great as is. Vorpx has done an amazing job and I’d really like to keep what I have working. I’ll be playing Left 4 Dead 2, Skyrim and Fallout 4 for the foreseeable future. So please Ralf, can I keep Vorpx 0.9.1 and runtime 0.8 and my DK2? I don’t really want to update my Vorpx, runtime or drivers. Everything is working beautifully and I’m a happy gamer.

You could try experimenting with some of Skyrims memory patches. I haven’t tackled it yet for Skyrim but the 4gb patch with Fallout NV and NVSE work with vorpX so I bet there is something that will do the same for Skyrim. If you get ta memory patch to work you should be able to load up a lot more textures and such.

I’ve been trying to do exactly this. Playing Skyrim without mods is just unacceptable. And I’ve gotten it to look wonderful without my frame rate dropping below 75. The only issue is not being able to install the essential memory patch tweak that fixes Skyrim’s flawed memory allocation. I just need to figure out how to add the d3d9.dll file without crashing VorpX.

Developer went offline? no reply in last one week!! Sent a mail also. Wanted to confirm that you will have my money if u add Vive support especially with Games Skyrim , Need for Speed series and Grid 2, Titanfall etc!! I used Tridef 3d now but they dropped VR support fully, So its your chance to make use of the empty market Space!!! So bad for them and good for you!!!!

I have good news for you. You will be able to run tridef games in virtual desktop steam app. It support sbs games and you have head tracking from virtual desktop. tridef milked money and invested in something else. I am also waiting to hear that vive is supported here and I will play gladly for good work.

It’s been awhile since I’ve played but when fallout4 came out I loved playing it on dk2 but I had issues with aiming with scopes and pip boy being messed up. IIRC scopes were cut so that you could only see the top left portion of the scope.

Is this still an issue? I would love to do more running around + actually play the game in VR (quests, playing like I would w/o vr.)

Is this consolidated to just me or are these known issues? I am sorry but I don’t keep up with this type of news as much as I want to!

Okay, I enjoyed G3D games with VorpX alot, so I look at Unreal 3 Engine FPS, which are not supported yet and try them with renamed game exe. Here are my results and begging to Ralf to make them supported because of problems with steam and FOV, when renaming.
My FOV recommendations with them: The official recommendation is 120 FOV at 1920×1080 Pixel 1:1 Distance Zoom 1.00
With that settings you have mostly a good perspective, but massive overhead to the sides and blurry image, because you can see only a third of the picture. So I try to “calibrate” it with 90 FOV and 1600×1200 / 4:3 resolution.
    90 FOV: Distance Zoom 0.56
    or
    95 FOV: Distance Zoom 0.60
This looks the same than 120 FOV at 1.00 Zoom, but without overhead and a much clearer graphic (more ppi).
Renaming: There are a couple of UE3 Profiles with different features. I tested with BorderlandsPreSequel.exe and ADVGame-Win32-Shipping.exe (Deadfall)
    Both offer positional headtracking.

    Now the games:

    Bulletstorm (ShippingPC-StormGame.exe)

Ingame graphic settings I set shadows and Post Processing to low.
Resolution to 1920×1080 (4:3 gives black bars)
To set FOV use this Tool, because of crypted inis:
    http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/download/580-bulletstorm-ini-editor/
    to edit the ini’s:
    FOV
    1. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Bulletstorm\StormGame\Config\ StormCamera.ini
    2. Change to the desired FOV.

    Framerate
    1. Edit %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Bulletstorm\StormGame\Config\StormEngine.ini
    2. Change MaxSmoothedFrameRate to a higher cap; alternately, remove the frame rate cap entirely by setting bSmoothFrameRate to false.

    Mouse Smoothing (for proper Headtracking)
    1. Edit %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Bulletstorm\StormGame\Config\StormInput.ini
    2. Find bEnableMouseSmoothing and to ‘false’ to disable mouse smoothing.

You also need to calibrate Headtracking manually per VorpX Menu: Fokus something in “real life” and slowly shake your head left and right and notice how it stays in your view. Then do the same ingame and edit the HeadTracking value.

    My G3D rating: 8/10

very little lightning issues, some auto head movement when walking and fast gameplay makes it a little nauseous. Iron Sight you need to aim between the dots, its playable. Great 3D-Effekt.

Nearly the same settings with Bulletstorm ini editor with:
    Alien Rage Unlimited (ShippingPC-AFEARGame.exe)

This game has some strange light sources in G3D, so I only recommend Z3D.

    Homefront (HOMEFRONT.exe)

The FOV settings ingame only works for Multiplayer, not the Campaign (only in first mission). There is a Homefront FOV Changer: http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/download/487-homefront-fov-changer/
But that only works with the HOMEFRONT.exe, so we need a profile for that.

G3D, positional-tracking works (turn of DX11 ingame, restart), but many issues especially with shadows. So turn down shadows ingame, Post Processing and turn off frame limit and mouse smoothing in the game menus. Weapon sights are good playable with red dot weapons. Easier for the eye with Z3D.

My G3D rating 6/10. Too many graphical problems with g3d, but playable. +1 with the FOV changer.

    Medal of Honor (2010) (moh.exe)

The Campaign is UE3 Engine, so works great (Multiplayer is Frostbite). Documents\EA Games\Medal of Honor\Config\MOHAEngine.ini
    bSmoothFrameRate=false
    MOHAInput.ini
    bEnableMouseSmoothing=false
The G3D looks amazing with very little lightning issues, but overall nearly perfect, but…
The FOV is 55. Again there is a FOV-Changer for the original.exe:
    http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/download/389-medal-of-honor-2010-fov-changer/
    So… VorpX specific profile needed.
G3D rating: 9.5/10 possible if getting FOV to a playable view

    Santum 2 (SanctumGame-Win32-Shipping.exe)

Wow, that was a surprise. It’s a steam only game, so you can’t rename it so easily, but after I get it to work with the Deadfall profile (ADVGame-Win32-Shipping.exe), the game works flawlessly in G3D, with all graphic options maxed out, even shadows and lightning stuff and keeps a clean graphical image. Even FOV adjustable in the menus. Easy setup, looks great, very nice to play in VR.
    \Documents\My Games\Sanctum2\SanctumGame\Config
    SanctumEngine.ini
    bSmoothFrameRate=false
    SanctumInput.ini
    bEnableMouseSmoothing=false

    G3D-rating 10/10

    Singularity (Singularity.exe)

Looks amazing in G3D, but yeah, bad FOV…
Needs Flawless Widescreen or Widescreen Fixer Tool to fix FOV. So not with renamed exe.
    G3D-rating 10/10 (with better FOV)

    Section 8 Prejudice (S9-Win32-F.exe)

Untested, because it has a launcher and can’t rename the game.exe
    FOV settings per ini:
    http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Section_8:_Prejudice#Field_of_view_.28FOV.29
    bSmoothFrameRate & bEnableMouseSmoothing like usual.

    Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (R6Vegas2_Game.exe)

Very narrow FOV and not changeable, enjoyable in a cinema view setting. Now the UE3 Engine begins to look old and outdated 😉
Maybe it helps to fiddle around with Widescreen Fixer:
    https://www.widescreenfixer.org/
    Very good G3D Effekt.

@Ralf: All the above called exe just need a copy/paste UE3-profile.

How the heck do you get medal of honor to work it just fails to start in steam when i rename it. I’m getting so sick and tired of this bs

Feature wise the Fallout 4 G3D profile is on par with Skyrim, that much I can say. So you can indeed look forward to it (provided you have a GTX 980Ti or Titan GPU).

Regarding the next version there is nothing else to share currently than what was said above though, sorry: there *might* be another update before the CV1 is released, but that hasn’t been decided yet.

I hear you, I bet its a major performance hit. I’m not expecting performance but at least a G3d profile would be nice. That way anyone who is into trying it can start tuning it in. I want to have the profile so I can experiment with different texture builds to see what performance I can squeeze out. Also when the GECK comes out I’m sure there will be a bunch of in-depth performance mods that will get the memory consumption down.

I will probably take a whack at modding the open world to be less open if that makes sense. Close up a lot of the open buildings and make them have their own separate interior spaces (more like old Bethesda games).

Anyway a hot fix or mini update to include the option to mess with a G3D profile? If you can get just the functionality to work like it does in Skyrim/New Vegas then let us worry about how to get the frames on our particular machines.

You did such a great job with the other Bethesda titles I’m looking forward to trying it out in Fallout 4. Remember I just want the functionality, I’m not expecting you to somehow make the game run or perform better.

The performance hit of the Fallout 4 G3D profile is ~50% compared to Z3D. You’ll need an *extremely* beefy machine to make this at least barely playable, and even with that it’s far from ideal. Even the fastest machines available today have to rely on async timewarp heavily, which is not how things should be.

With the recommended Oculus specs (decent i5/i7, GTX 970) and medium settings it’s halfway playable in most interiors (>45fps raw performance), but often dips below 30fps outside (in some parts of the map even below 20fps), which isn’t really enough even with async timewarp. For comparison: 75fps are ideal for DK2, 90fps for CV1. A faster GPU helps, but not as much as one would think. As with all Bethesda RPGs, the CPU is as much a limiting factor as the GPU.

I don’t have a date yet for the next vorpX version that will include this, but there probably (BUT NOT NECESSARILY!) will be another update before the CV1 is released.

I haven’t been paying to much attention to my oculus and the vorpX forums sense Fallout 4… I was wondering has vorpX updated to G3D profile for Fallout 4? I know it’s demanding system wise and all that but I would like to give it a go. If the performance isn’t so hot on my system with G3D I’ll start modding until I get it tuned it. Anyway waiting to start another round until I can play with G3D and the Oculus… Any word on the positional tracking with Z3D?

So I just purchased Vorpx for my dk2 as I wanted to try out a few games in vr. I am using DK2 wins 10 latest runtime 8, so I do not have access to extended mode. Trying to start fallout 4 and I am getting the following error

Possible Conflict detected. Vorpx may not work correctly
Please rename/ remove the bellow files:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\d3d11.dll

This is basically happening with all games, as there seems to be a issue with the .dll

Also some games like star wars battlefront get the “settings path not found” error. I hope there is something obvious I am missing… as I was hopping since there um charging for this that it would work right out the gate and less like some hack some one put together on reddit..
